Maybe for someone it will be free to use bitcoin, but it is only when engaged in clandestine or illegal business. Just bitcoin provides such opportunities.

Blockchain itself is absolutely centralized ("there can be only one"), so why would people want to have to do anything with it if they just could as easily, or even more easily, find and communicate with anyone directly without the apprehension that all their actions are written down and saved somewhere for good? On the other hand, there is a dynamic DNS infrastructure which is less centralized than the blockchain technology, doesn't have "memory", and fits perfectly into the current system. In my opinion, the blockchain would be like a bull in a china shop if we wanted to substitute it for name services. So, could you please provide an example (or two) where the blockchain would beat the currently existing systems hands down, without irrelevant verbiage?

I mean social interactions across the Internet, of course

In prediction markets where the wisdom of the crowd is monetized....In content markets where the content in question is the actual currency, such as music....Now, I know that the bitcoin blockchain isn't equipped for such applications but....that doesn't mean they're not in the conception phase on other chains....The Ethereum network is already milling around some amazing concepts....  http://dapps.ethercasts.com/

Could you explain how the blockchain as an open and authoritative ledger would conceptually work in these cases, and how it would have advantage over the existing technologies? I mean anything beyond just paying someone for something. Let's take, for example, music...

What would the blockchain technology change in this field?

I don't know.  Bitcoin does provide a certain level of freedom to some, but it also reinforces and attaches a certain reliance upon technology.  If one were to transfer all of their liquid capital into bitcoin, then they would have to remain on the grid in order to participate in the marketplace.  And, being attached to the grid comes with a fair amount personal privacy intrusion which cannot be avoided easily.

Correct. The blockchain, by its very nature, is an unalterable ledger with true memory that records anything and everything within its scope. In a world built on the blockchain, privacy would be non-existent. There isn't anything necessarily wrong with this though, I personally have nothing to hide so I don't have any problem with a blockchain world where my every move is monitored. The blockchain, if properly implemented, would actually be immensely beneficial to the system as a whole, you'd be 'sacrificing' privacy for efficiency, transparency and certainty. Now imagine a world where your very brain is connected to the blockchain  Grin

I think that day will come....There's so much more going on behind the social networking scene than people care to think about and that is scary!  There's so much potential in blockchain technology that its future applications are unimaginable at this point, especially when combined with social networking analytics....Things are happening and they're happening very quickly!

Yes, it's a freedom from a bankster mafia system but isn't total freedom from the power of money.

Well maybe it does and it doesn't depending on how you use bitcoin. Bitcoin is freedom in the sense of the people if they want to use bitcoin then no one is going to stop them and since it doesn't require information to start up a transaction, that could be consider as freedom and as well as security to all of us.
You call it a freedom because there is now law that we should abide when using bitcoin, we are not govern by the law of the state and whatever we do will not make it illegal even we are doing things like gambling.. Most of the countries ban gambling but with the advent of bitcoin everything is possible and easy for us to enjoy and with that instance alone, it already demonstrate they we have the freedom.

You have  a  point when  we  intend to  play gambling   by  bitcoin even  if  its  banned  on your country  we   could  actually bypass them   because   we  could able  to access  bitcoin anytime which is   trully a  freedom  for  those  who gamble. Actually there  are  lots  of  freedom  we could  able  to  mention here  on bitcoin  just  like  of having a freedom  from tax  on all of  our  assets   because we could definitely  evade it with the  use of bitcoin and also we   have the freedom  to   control all of  our  money   without  using banks  but  still we should remember  on the  risk  involve  of  it.
Bitcoin has become popular because of gambling and because we are using bitcoin in gambling the restriction is gone and even kids can gamble since no information is required before we can gamble. In addition, we can earn faucets in dice and we can also play, so kids can do it without money.

I would like to say that bitcoin is cen percentage freedom and anonymous around the usage. Bitcoin is contained with lots of privacy so that bitcoin will be best currency which is independent on use.

Well, sorta....Many seem to forget that once we start surfing the net, our data is being mined....it wouldn't take much to figure out who, where, what, when, and why we were online for those mining the data.  Once we're online, we're exposed, and bitcoin requires a certain degree of web connectivity to participate.  It's the peripheral activity that gives us away....

Yeah I agree bitcoin is freedom.. because I can do anything online from whatever bitcoin can offer.. like playing casinos which can bring so much fun and entertainment.

It isn't 100% freedom. Yeah, you can do stuff like going on the dark web and buying illegal stuff but it's still risky ne caise the governments can track you down anytime. I have even heard the FBI categorizes you as a criminal in the first second you're opening Tor already, so you can be taken down at any time. Be careful about it.
definitely right and agree with the first point, but how the heck FBI could detect someone who just opening TOR,the point of using tor is to be untraceable and anonymous isn't it,if it's were useless for FBI and they still can trace us,so why the heck we still use TOR,then TOR is really fucked up is that is actually true

Bitcoin is freedom from banks. It also provides some freedom from government control of our money and what we do with out money.

That's very nice but I wonder if you would agree with me if I told you that like with everything else, too much freedom can't be a good thing? In an ideal world, everyone would be considerate, responsible, honest etc and there wouldn't be any need for control of any kind. Do you really believe that if people are allowed to do whatever they want, everyone would behave nicely? What happens then to the old, young and weak who cannot defend themselves against the strong and smart and don't have anyone to turn to for help, like the government, authorities etc?

You seem to be pro-Bitcoin overall, at least, as far as I can judge, but Bitcoin per se is apparently anti-establishment through its principles and operation (anonymity of payments, decentralized nature of currency issuance, etc) while, at the same time, you are calling on authorities to help "the old, young and weak" and protect them from "the strong and smart". How come? I think you can't have it both ways unless you are being an opportunist of sorts...

If you think that I misunderstood what you meant to say, communicate your idea in simpler terms
