At this start of this year, there was a lot of hype about how high the price of bitcoin will get, some speculated that btc will set a new ATH of $100k before the first half of the year is over, others before the first quarter of the year.
This However has not been the case. We just passed the first quarter of the year and btc has not even gotten to $70k yet. Do you still think $100k is still possible before the first half of the year?

Bitcoin price movement always come unexpectedly, at times the increments of cryptocurrency more especially Bitcoin in particular can stay constant in a price for more than two years without any addition in price, because during 2018 and 2019 and 2020 Bitcoin price remain constant with the sum of 9k, and their is no more difference to its increments
So when Bitcoin will speed up to $100k it will look like a firm or drama.

The question isn't anymore that "will" rather now it is "when" and I believe it is very very soon that BTC will touch and cross the $100,000 mark. There was a time when we considered the $20k mark as final that happened in 2017 but now we are looking at around over $60k! No one saw it coming and breaking all odds and expectations, btc has shown a surprising upwards rally! It's indeed a very optimistic chart!

If you have been in 2017 bull market, you would have known that the bitcoin move parabolic in last months of the bull market and the highest gains are achieved right at the end of the bull market. Currently bitcoin is moving exactly as per predication and you will be surprised to see a 70K-90K increase in the value of bitcoin in Sep-Dec 2021 which may take bitcoin on over 150,000$.

That's right, in 2017 bitcoin is really hype at the end of the year, until the whole altcoin also follows the direction of the trend, Is this month just a regular trend? Will bitcoin properly follow the pattern as recorded in 2017, hoping it is true.

In cryptocurrency and the entire stock market patients are key, users predicted a high price for bitcoin before the end of the first quarter but that was just a prediction and showing how high their hope is in the market and not investment advice. Bitcoin may not be at $70k or $100k but Bitcoin and the entire crypto market have done well at price already.

Judging from the current trend, as bitcoin could reach $100k, bitcoin has now reached $60k I believe going up $40k is not difficult for bitcoin, we need more support for bitcoin to occupy that price.

Let's just all wait for now. It will reach 100k but might take quite some time and I won't be shocked if before reaching 100k there would be one to three price dump first. But thinking how bitcoin get interests of famous people and big companies I guess it would be more stable than before.

Yep, I think that it's very much possible. Just remember that around the same time back in 2017 BTC was below 3k, if I can recall correctly, and we all know at what price it ended by the end of the year. Since BTC is at approximately 55k, it needs less than 100% increase to reach 100k which is not that much really, when you think that we have 7 months ahead of us.

Even if 100k by the end of 2021 doesn't happen I would say that BTC had a very good year.

Everything is possible, the speculation and prediction may not happen at the exact date but there is a possibility it could happen before the year end, just like it was speculated that the bull run has not end yet, so there is still enough time for the market to perform, some analysts are very keen on their speculation so just patiently wait to see how the next months plays out.

I could be wrong but I think it's mostly because it's still so vulnerable to fake rumors and speculation.  Hopefully that stops one day but I don't see how it can.  Anyway eth outperforming btc a lot recently has steered me away investing anymore into the asset and just other altcoin instead which is mostly Tron and eth and I'm very glad that my nft sales are for ethereum.

From last year, down to now, Bitcoin has surpassed quite a lot of people's imaginations, I'm pretty sure only a handful of people actually expected Bitcoin to be at the price it is now so early in the year, thus, in the bull run, you can expect to hear one prediction or the other on the price, or rather, the expected future price. $100k before half of the year is prolly not possible, but imo, Bitcoin will achieve that price before 2022. The thing is, there's absolutely no need worrying why Bitcoin hasn't gotten to a $100k, except you're one of those 'get rich quick investors', if you believe in the network, then you'll be patient, cause that's how you make ROI.

There's a reason why a lot of people here are against listening to "price predictions" but instead, what we heavily recommend is to remain patient and let the markets do it's job.

They used to call it "FOMO" missed a trend made them buy above can not wait for correction, when it will soon go down, and they will cry because impatient and against the current market trend.

It takes a long time to get to $100k, I'm not sure if bitcoin can penetrate that this year, But I'm sure bitcoin will be to $70k easily, It takes a lot of trust by investment to make bitcoin into $100k quickly.

Because setting new ATH values is harder than you think. Although the first half of the year is not yet reached, there are some obstacles that are slowing down the rise including all the margin traders that keep shorting bitcoin and most of the times lose a lot of money in their "gambling games".
There is no rush though and $100k is not as far away as you may think. The rise to $100k is a simple 60% rise and by bitcoin standards that is nothing since we usually see 1000% rises during the bull runs such as this year.

If you have Bitcoin or just fraction of Bitcoin, and believe that it will has a price @100k, let's turn off your computer for a few months and let the market runs in its way. Months later or years later, you will see Bitcoin has a price at $100k or higher.

In the meantime, you can enjoy your life and don't feel stressful why Bitcoin does not hit @100k.

In March 2020, many people lost belief and asked when Bitcoin will hit the 2017 all time high but not long time after March, Bitcoin broke that ATH cap and even moved up above $64k.

I haven't heard that prediction though, if there is one, the $100,000 target could be achieved at the end of the year, not in the first half.

This However has not been the case. We just passed the first quarter of the year and btc has not even gotten to $70k yet. Do you still think $100k is still possible before the first half of the year?

Again, this is not happening because everyone is just making a wild educated guess and probably that's what you heard. If you wanted a good prediction on the 6 digits price, I advise you to read @fillippone Stock-to-Flow Model: Modeling Bitcoin's Value with Scarcity.

Ha wow we passed the first quarter and "btc has not even gotten to $70k yet". Yes, such a bad performing investment. Better buy gold, it's at least an asset you can touch right?

I believe it is possible. However, it should take time, don't expect to see it happens suddenly. Bitcoin is growing and the price increases gradually, it is a clue that the price of Bitcoin can reach even $100K this year. Unfortunately, we don't know when the exact time. It may be soon or take time till the end of this year. So, don't expect too much if it can be achieved before the first half of 2021.

Lol, what's the rush?

First, the increase will not go parabolic, it's like every month we experience a healthy correction, like 20%-30%.

Second, as much as we love to see $100k, it won't be that easy road, there are still a lot of negative news and FUD coming out. This people are always ready to create panic in the panic for whatever reason they have (probably to pull the price down so that they can buy cheap).

It's just the first quarter, wait till we finished this year before you complain, just saying.
