Bitcoin MAY become a solid way to invest in long term. Gold WAS and IS the bullet-proof for investment.

In my view point, gold is better than bitcoin . For my self i like gold because it so valuable. It's not means bitcoin not worth. But the advantage is gold can't earn by free. Sad

That is true that you cannot earn interest on bitcoins, but the thing is that you can earn huge profits in trading bitcoins which gold can never offer you, everything has its own advantages and disadvantages, if we look at history then gold is safe investment and bitcoin is a bit risky investment, but people who believes in quick profits would surely invest into bitcoins.

Wtf, you say as if your winning at trading is a given. I don't know if that is the case, but most certainly you trade neither gold nor bitcoin. Profits in trading are not offered, they are earned...

And for 95% of would-be traders it is ultimately a losing game

If you had to convert all your wealth to either Bitcoin or gold and keep it there for 10 years, which would you choose? Keep in mind the fact that Bitcoin has only been around for 5 years, and could be fundamentally different in any number of ways in 10 years.
i will convert all my wealth to bitcoin,ot gold. i have some reason, gold is risky, its hard to keep gold in "not safe" country, robber everywhere, but bitcoin is more safe, its online stored, and i think bitcoin ease to trade than gold.

You are wrong mate, you can convert and have it as gold in bank where interests will be paid for you. But bitcoin is not of that if you invest and the value needs to get increased for earning. There is no security in the investment of bitcoin but when it comes to gold it is centralized, so if something happened we can demand for it.

But you can also loose a huge amount of cash also, people that only focus on the potential profits and not the potential losses are nothing more than gamblers.

Gold is boring, stagnant, old, weights too much, smells like hell, it's just a piece of shinny metal that girls and rappers like.
Bitcoin is smart, clean, can adapt, exciting, and looks towards the future.

How many currencies throughout the ages has gold outlast.

Bitcoin is great but gold will still be a store of wealth after bitcoin is dead, gone and forgotten.

Right on.
Gold is like how diamands are... forever.

Whilst bitcoin has a great potential I could net last forever. Since the value is determined solely online.

I consider both gold and bitcoin to be the same, because gold can be exchanged for money, the same can be done with bitcoin. Using gold, purchases can be made only in certain stores likewise bitcoins can also be used for purchase only in certain business.

agree with yu, we can't send gold instanly like bitcoin,
and we can't trade it in online market like bitcoin Roll Eyes

you can send gold or pay in gold instanly using service like bitgold, off course Bitcoin is accepted by more 'merchants than bitgold gold

bitgold is a great innovation of usage and gold transactions. the concept is the same as bitcoin,
the difference is, in accordance with the price of gold,
but bitgold is a third party, must be careful

I would like to choose gold because there is three reasons about that.

First, I doubt bitcoin will be more popular in future around one decades later then nowadays and maybe becomes seldom use by everyone.
Second, gold has permanent value, the currency always wobbled (down or up) from gold.
Third, if should choose i will choose gold then bitcoin because I really like gold. I want have many gold.

the problem with your thinking is thta bitcoin is here to stay too, i'm seeing it as a new fancy trend that will last soem time and it will be forgotten, when it offer the unique decentralized best ledger you cna ever get

what it's matter here is the tech behind it not the currency itself, rest assured that the tech will never die, at best will be enhanced

I would do the same I have done now; 99% on bitcoin, 1% on gold.

No but seriously I am not that interested in gold. I do happen to have some right now but as said the amount is maybe 1% if compared to the bitcoin amount. Cannot see why I would get any more interested on investing gold so I think it would stay the same. Most on bitcoin.

You have basically got 1% class A asset and 99% penny stocks.

Not exactly a sound investment strategy Smiley

It's about useability also and bitcoin has more useability then gold, since gold is not accepted in many stores.

Surprising. There are millions of stores, banks, pawn shops.etc world wide, which accept gold bullion bars and coins (although I could admit that gold jewelry is not that easy to sell). As someone who do international travel quite frequently, I can vouch for this. Now tell me how many stores and banks are there, which readily accept Bitcoin?

So, Bitocin is better than gold? I agree with this. Gold is something which was very valuable in the past and Bitcoin is something which will be very valuable in the future. And as we can see Bitcoin is already a valuable thing, but unfortunately most people are livivng in the past so they can't see the real value of Bitcoin.
