First, nothing is obvious in the cryptocurrency world. Second, in my opinion, it is not a logic prediction that bitcoin's price will drop to as low as $1000, because it is increasing its popularity day by day. According to that popularity, the market value of it is increasing, naturally.
Every year January is the month of dump for Bitcoin.
Also this year it can go down to 7-8k but after a few month it will again reach to 17-18k.

I see demand for bitcoin is still high, even though the market is not good. I think too many people are predicting things like that in the past (I mean in 2017) and their predictions are almost all wrong
I think it's unlikely to happen, will most likely be a standard correction, but not up to $ 1000, exactly, the one who lets this rumor do it for manipulation. All for people panicking.
But people now becoming aware and know the nature of the market, they even if the price is decreasing tryto to old and give support to the price and that is the reason we are not seeing any panic selling in the market, hope that very soon the price will recover and manipulator will not succeed to manipulate the price.

I think $1000 is a really low price for the bitcoin. Of course there is nothing obvious in the cryptocurrency world, but I think bitcoin have the necessary power and potential to reach better prices in the future.
