Hi I'm newbie here.
Anyone can recommend a bitcoin wallet to me? I want to keep some bitcoins myself and can easily transfer out also.
Thanks.

I would suggest Copay or Mycelium both are good wallets. If you require hardware wallet  Trezor is the best and safe wallet option.

I recomend Blockchain.info a lot of people use it , have a lot of security measures and you will have the total control of your coins.

While there is nothing wrong with blockchain.info (I use it myself for small amounts), you do NOT have total control of your coins.

Websites can get hacked, and their owners can steal, there have been numerous examples already.

I've only recently came back to bitcoin.

I've stopped using bitcoin for a long while (about half a year) and fortunately, I saved my Electrum seed and I recovered a little amount of my bitcoin so I guess I suggest you can use that one if you're into desktop wallet.

Hello everyone! i am new here and i reach this post , decided to recommend you the best bitcoin wallet called "XAPO".  You can download it from playstore easily and use it .  No transaction fee , no verification of documents!!  A hongkong based bitcoin wallet network.

How did you reach in this conclusion? I really don't care, like many others, if is hong kong or everywhere in the earth this company. Every web wallet is no safe like desktop or hardware ones. Would be better read some things from the forum [General] Bitcoin Wallets - Which, what, why? or somewhere else as far as it concerns privacy and security of web wallets if you really care about the security of your bitcoins.

as always , I'd recommend you blockchain.info one. If you're not using large amounts of bitcoin and want to transfer it quickly, then I'm suggesting you that one. I've been using it since I've started getting into bitcoin and never had any problem whatsoever. But if you're trading with larger amounts, then I'd suggest you some desktop wallet over the online one but I'm not a fan of desktop wallets because of the syncing and whatnot, so it's kind of more easier to use the fast online one and it's secured  as much as you're secured and careful how you're handling it. Cheers!

Coinbase has a simple design and easy to use for security is also good every login on an unknown device to be a need for verification of the device via email. Coinbase not relate well with gambling sites. I also recommend xapo because there is no transaction fee

This question is about wallet, not about online wallet. Coinbase have good security and is very easy to use, but this still is online wallet - so in practice BTC that you keep there is not in your hands. If you want to be safe, you must use desktop wallets.

For new users i recommend Electrum or MultiBit Classic. (Electrum have also version for Android)

Using Electrum and typing half of your passwork with the virtual keyboard is a nice way of avoiding keyloggers.

Im not using Xapo anymore.
Im using mycelium wallet now. This mobile wallet have many features like signed message and adjusting transaction fees.
Mycelium wallet is good for the mobile wallet, but if we're want to use a wallet for desktop,
I think Electrum wallet is better than other because it's easy to use and simple also not spent much GB for download that.

I got a recommendation from one of my friends, there's an APP called CONNECT. I've tried some days and I like it.
I can send and receive btc easily and also I can save my btc in the wallet. Also I note the APP is on the promotion on this forum and they even send out luckypacket including free btc, which is very nice.  Cheesy

What do you mean an APP called connect? this is  mobile wallet?

Thank you for those responses  Smiley

Just for the record, is it allowed/ideal/smart to have multiple wallets on a single device. Just like in Electrum for instance, can i have multiple wallets on Electrum in order for me to divide my BTC so that if my accnt was hacked (I hope not Grin) not all of my BTC will be stolen.

Again, i just want to emphasize, is it allowed/ideal/smart to have multiple wallets using Electrum on a single device?

It's allowed sure but no it's not smart to keep everything in one place, after so many scams and hacks over the years, diversification is the key, and my rules are simple.

1. Never keep more bitcoins on any website than you are happy to shrug off if lost, so blockchain.info or exchanges, maybe BTC0.1
2. Keep a slightly larger amount in a secure local wallet, Electrum, Core, Mycellium etc, maybe BTC0.1 - BTC1
3. The rest or bulk in some form of cold storage, be it paper or hardware or both, maybe BTC1+

You can adjust the figures to what you feel comfortable with.

Another one recommendation is Bitcoin Armory, though the app is usually best for more advanced users.

It is not famous for being fast and light because it focuses first on maximizing security, and then provides a well thought-out interface to make using this security as simple as possible.
Now one thing that needs to be noted right at the start, is that Bitcoin Armory will build a mirror of the Bitcoin blockchain, so it’s well over 40gb at this stage you’ll need that extra space, and then some, on your hard drive.
