that used to be the case few years back when altcoins where not even released, Bitcoin can sustain itself by itself since it's a great financial system, just having some people interested in it is enough.

bitcoin 1st crypto popular as usefull for payment .
and altcoin only support cryptography revolution . so far bitcoin the best for me,
bitcoin is always best. and best then every crypto currency. but some alternative currency also have good faith and trust. like dogecoin, litecoin and dash/dark coin. these are the altcoin who will live for long time and support bitcoin as well as they are doing.

Well, IMHO I think its difficult if bitcoin only without Altcoin. BTC maybe become scarce and expensive as it has only fixed? allocation. With altcoin as an option or alternative it can minimize the btc prices.

Why would you like to suppress altcoin?

They're useful! They allow to discover new things and new ideas! And they put pressure on btc!
Without them, btc wouldn't evolve so much cause there would be no possibility other than btc.

bitcoin can normally exist without altcoins and would be fine since it's the original, it already existed without altcoins before litecoin was made, I don't think altcoins can exist without bitcoin though.

bitcoin without altcoin is not a problem because bitcoin is a mother crypto currency and now many companies trust with bitcoin. the only crypto currecy can survive is only bitcoin.

bitcoin would be regular and common without bitcoin, I don't think there is something so different between bitcoin with altcoins and bitcoin alone, altcoins would need bitcoin to exist since they are mostly compared and used with bitcoin.

Bitcoin would easily sustain without altcoin in my opinion, it's really just the main regular and the copy of it, I think bitcoin would exist easily while if bitcoin does not exist then altcoins won't exist since it's mostly based on it IMO.

I am agree with you about this point, in fact altcoins need Bitcoin, and Bitcoin don't need altcoins nowadays. Without Bitcoin a very few people will interest about the altcoins because it's worth a very low price and couldn't be traded into Bitcoin, however Bitcoin can survive without altcoins as being able to exchange into fiat easily

Altcoins are just distractions from Bitcoin. They usually have no real value except as a mining pump and dump profit. What was the last time anyone had a serious thought about Dogecoins being a world-wide accepted currency?
Well there was that one time they sponsored a nascar driver, but I have a feeling they never really expected it to go anywhere.

I think the "doge" memes died pretty quickly, and dogecoin died along with it.

Doge is still alive. It's great for microtransactions, because the fee is so small (1 doge which is about 55 satoshi). If the whole micropayment model took off (where you pay for viewing videos or reading an article with a coin, doge would take off, because it's ideally suited to it. At the moment micropayments have yet to catch on though because people are still addicted to getting stuff for free or getting stuff paid for by advertising.

Even the altcoins being all compared to bitcoin ,on the time they born, doesnt mean no one can cross it,bitcoin is the example that some tryed to make, and copy ,but the community doesnt wanna another coin, they wanna bitcoin to grow and pump and dump the others coins, getting more bitcoins.

bitcoin without altcoin means impending trading. bitcoin will not have a price. and bitcoin there never will be.

I guess you are right because with alt coin are depending their price on bitcoin.
And that what bitcoin keeps going and having its price.

@BOB
Do you have plans for another good pump(coin)?
Can you tell us where to invest?
Do you pumping ETH?

I have plans to make some money trading alts.
I cant tell you, but I can recommend to you to check out (KR) Krypton coin as well as Etherum obviously.
No. But I am in for the ride.

Yes sure those developers that make shitty coins had damage the crypto concept, bitcoin may had loose some investment and interest because of them, but some altcoins are getting a lot attention, eth has reached their first bilion yesterday, soo i believe as you it will boom slowly. In this case and some more coins they are allowing anyone to get a good income and able to live from crypto world. For those who had missed the born of bitcoin ,well eth and some others may be starting to grow this year, soo even if them cant reach the bitcoin values they will go around the 40% up to 70% of bitcoin value atleast i believe on it.

I consider Bitcoin and other altcoins like fiat diffirent currencies. all of them are money at the end but each one has diffirent value according to its market. and they affect the value of each other through trading

Most of the altcoins are secondary compared to bitcoin. I consider none of them a real treath to bitcoin.
Not by a longshot anyway. So without altcoins bitcoin would have probably done the same.

Without altcoins bitcoin would have sailed a whole other boat. I am convinced many people would have bailed out.
Because just bitcoin seems boring. It's good that there are some alternatives to make it exciting.
