I would suggest a last time one site feature so its easier to tell if someone is scamming and ignoring us or simply not available.

Also Xeser  is a scammer using email: [email protected]

parts of what?

Both parts (buyer/seller) of the transaction to maintain server costs. Each part pays 0.5% to Bitcoinary.

Looks like a good idea.

What about charging 0.5% for each part as a fee?

And the average % a person should charge is around 5%, not 10%-20%.

You could try some kind of escrow. Wait for the receiving part to confirm he received the funds before the coins become accessible.

where did you trade him at?
?? Unfortunately I did not find any trade partner via this site yet. I sent it to my Chilean trade partners though.

I meant your in person trade
#1 in a bar in Viña del Mar Bitcoin Spinner to Bitcoin Spinner. Very smooth.
#2 in the street in Santiago Spinner to some Address and then blockchain.info on my phone to show him it has reached him. His internet failed on him.

so far, only attempts to scam.
too bad, 'twas a promising concept.

*snif* … I'm no scammer Sad

No, seriously, what's your point? What's your suggestion? I thought I wouldn't do trades because I'm the only Bitcoiner in Chile but maybe there is something flawed about the site?

well
it's too easy to fake ratings. some user yesterday:

- was active for 2 hours
- had one positice rating
- from a user that was active for 2 hours

and told me that i should send first (600BTC, no less!) because he "had feedback" and I didnt.

i dunno

maybe have yout bitcoin-otc rating up there?

It's just as easy to fake ratings at bitcoin-otc. It's just more convenient to use bitcoinary than otc in the first place. I for example gave up on otc when I wanted to use it last year as other services were more convenient.

I did in-person trades so far only. Well, once I was friends with my trading partners, this changed but the first trade I would rather travel an hour to meet that guy than to send bitcoins in good faith.

Also be careful of NIC scamming.  Here on BCT I know some users have traded with highly rated OTC users only to be scammed and find out that the scammer never proved they owned the OTC nic.

Love what bitcoinary is trying to do  but they need to do a better job of vetting users if they want to encourage legitimate traders.

we should be able to link the account to bitcointalk.org account and at least show our post count

anyone can join bitcoinary.com with just an email address
Randalf (https://www.bitcoinary.com/en/users/880/profile) possible (probable!) scammer

I would like to second this concern as the guy believes that 1 feedback by somebody who has been registered for exactly as long as him justifies sending him 100 BTC first before he sends the money (he didn't even ask for my banking details) Would advise people to be careful (not saying he's a scammer) just be careful and manage risk.

Also, I agree with other people saying that we should have the option to link our bitcointalk.org accounts to bitcoinary.

i dont see what you're getting at.
you dont wanna deal with me, fine.

I also dont do PayPal.

You can always SEPA or mail me cash and you will absolutely have the BTC no later than 6 transactions after I have the money in hand/on account.

this whole ratings-feedback-thing has complicated and overtechnicalized dealings a whole lot.

where once i was able to do deals just on the basis of my postcount, my tax number visible on my website etc etc, and the impression that i'm a decent guy, now i require feedback on some random greymarket site or need to sign a pgp contract to buy 200 bitcoins and still send first via moneygram because i only registered with bitcoin-otc last week etc etc yadayada...

90% of my time is haggling with potential customers, half of which are scammers, the other half have some liking to this or that rating system/site which adds a whole magnitude of complication to the whole thing.

I see your points I agree. No matter what someone can still fuck you.

I was just making a bad joke above, my apologies

I'm trying to think up an easy way for people to feel very secure in doing these trades. Maybe Escrow is underutilized

I'd probably only trust that many BTC in person, in increments not the whole thing at once

I've done deals over 15000€ in one fell swoop and they all succeeded because...

...dumroll...

I NEVER SEND FIRST

BINGO. now let me send you some for 100BTC but i'll say in paypal its for a gaming PC since they dont like bitcoin

then you send btc? i have 13 feedbacks

can i haz btc then?
