Two fintech startups in Australia have teamed up to provide a service to bill payers that lets them settle their accounts with cryptocurrency, regardless of whether the issuer accepts crypto payments.Cryptocurrency exchange Cointree and automated billing platform Gobbill are behind the initiative, with Gobbill accepting the crypto funds from customers and paying the bills on their behalf with an accepted form of fiat currency.

Sanford C Bernstein & Co analysts have produced a report signaling a revenue increase in cryptocurrency exchanges. Estimations are in the ballpark of USD 4 billion this year.
The published study, titled ‘Crypto Trading – the Next Big Thing is Here?’, found that despite the excess of FUD headlines and reports such as CCN’s ‘Crypto Bloodbath‘ following the market’s recent poor performance, crypto trading is expected to provide massive gains for exchanges.

The President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, has announced that the Petro will have an official exchange rate of USD 60, which is apparently equivalent to a barrel of Venezuelan oil.
The Bolivar fuerte (VEF) will be tied to the Petro with an exchange rate of VEF 360 million per Petro. The Sovereign Bolivar is projected to be issued in late August 2018, amid a hyper-inflation crisis. After it is issued, each Petro will be worth 3,600 Sovereign Bolivars, since VEF will be converted to Sovereign Bolivar at a 100,000 to 1 ratio.
