Here it is, the 19th, just one more league title away from adding a second star over our crest.

What a season it has been though, especially the last third of the season, 6 straight wins and 17 without a loss...and still, it was a tight race to end.

Congrats to vd309 for winning the pool, well done! 59 exact scores is something exceptional.

looking at results today, and I was thinking it is Volleyball, just 0:3 and 3:0 all over
congrats to Milan, title after 11 years, and a lot happened in the mean time
Expected something like this and that is why I choose both games for free bet challenge from LaLiga. Seria A is hands down most boring league when it comes to the end. Everybody gets what they need and they get it easy. And then you compare last day in Serie A with all that we had in Premier League and you realize that PL deserves to be that far in front.

Superbru will be down or sluggish all evening probably so I will post official results tomorrow. When we are sure all points have been added properly. I believe they even have a note that current results are not official at least until tomorrow.

but for me, most interesting part is tonight, thought that it was over, but TV rights are obviously obfuscated all matches at the same time, Sunday 15h, and Cagliari is fighting to avoid relegation, with Salernitana having match ball against Udinese

Signs are good, Napoli won me the first leg of my final day acca. Trying to get shit done before matches start in an hour or so ha!

Roma won convincingly, not expected but most of us from the pool went with Roma win, but it's been a terrible Saturday for me, lol. Zero point so far from 4 games, Atalanta lost at home to Empoli, Lazio couldn't hold on to their lead despite coming back from 2 goals down earlier to take a short lead, and Juventus which I expected to win the game as a befitting send forth for their departing players fumbled too. What else could have possibly gone wrong today ?
Lazio result hurt me most. I had them as 3:2 correct score. I think this is already 3rd time this season that Lazio makes a comeback in high scoring game and then concedes the goal and finishes with a point.

At least both to score on my ticket passed without much fuss. Still the best bet on Serie A. I am mad at myself for not taking Empoli yesterday but I thought Atalanta will be able to get some points in their last home match. Should have continued with forcing bets against them at home.

Yup, start of season, middle of season, end of season, form off form on, I just can't them right. It's a blur now really, predicting tight wins and seeing teams like Fiorentina blast 3 or 4 goals, and then saying okay, allow me to put my trust on you, and then they can't score or get fighting draws.

If only we could have a pool of other markets too like BTTS or HT/FT or scorer, and get points from all over the place.

Atalanta... don't know what to say.

Nevertheless, I am prepared to accept that Roma will lose this and prefer to qualify by winning Conference.

So, we have a Friday match, agreed by the Lega to be moved forward to today so Mourinho can prepare for the Conference League final (seriously, I think it's a great game to watch itself, but I'll be backing Feyenoord).

I don't think English FA would ever break tradition of playing all games on the same day and time, but I guess Roma/Torino will have next to no impact (Atalanta, Lazio, Fiorentina would argue differently as they all want Europa). Nevertheless, I am prepared to accept that Roma will lose this and prefer to qualify by winning Conference.

Ok I got it for yellow cap calculations and agree with Harkorede if someone is willing to make the calculations and,,, we are all willing to trust their calculations  Grin

I think it is unfair on the person to do all that though, we should leave it as is I have no issue OR disqualify any rounds where there are not 10 games. That is easier!

^ Ah right, I take it back, and yes. Sounds fairer but I suspect we'd end up on the other end of the # of games spectrum. i.e, gameweek with 6 games only (like Round 20), guy happens to make 6 correct outcomes, and gets the extra slam point to boost his week's point average, while his next 4 games are shit but it doesn't matter since it's in the next week.

Then you're likelier to chase the guy all season who won yellow cap in the week with the fewest games, instead of the one in the most games.

I know there's stats and probability involved in all this but the point is, whatever the system, we all get the same opportunities every week to try and score as high as we can. 20 games or 6 games. Top 3 yellow caps, btw, happened in normal 10-game rounds. Round 34 with 13 games was only 16 if you ignore MoSalah haha.

That said, I'm all for the new system for next season, would probably take some additional admin though Wink

I like Harkorede's idea on basis of fairness but that's just rewarding consistency more than the highest achievement -- AND it takes away the motivation for someone in bad positions to keep playing every week to try get the highest yellow cap. If there's one thing keeping everyone in bottom half playing, it's the yellow cap prize which, is not bad at all for the entry fee =)

I am open for all ideas, but I think for sake of simplicity keep to the easiest one, which is also as mentioned a good incentive to fight for the cap even if you are in bottom spot. Something I am extremely familiar with and trying to do in the EPL pool,,, which is better as you get a prize every yellow cap anyway!  Grin

I don't think you guys understood what Harkorede proposed. His way of doing things does nothing to diminish incentive to play to the end even if you are bottom of the table. It can only help. For instance we get 20 games in game week 28 and somebody makes 35 points. That lead would be impossible to overtake the way we are doing it now and with his proposed change it would be just be hard to overtake.

It just complicates calculating highest yellow cap and we don't have official result like now.

Sad to read about Chiellini leaving. I am new to Italian football but I watched him play in internationals for all I can remember. And even in last Euro he gave us good memories of pulling people back hehe. The ultimate Italian style, in my understanding.

I lost so many perfect scores in last minutes, gets on your nerves a bit.

But you happened to be on the positive side of that today with your Juventus 2-2 pick, you literally took the perfect scores away from about half of the pool.

I finished with just 4.5 points for the gameweek, I would have been in a more tensed situation if there were 3-4 weeks still to go.
I should have complained earlier and just maybe my position would be even better. I have strange results this season. This is by far my best pool which is strange since I don't watch Seria A. My worst pool is championship league where I watch every game and have highest percent of wins when betting.

Go figure.

Your idea for yellow cap sounds good and I'll think about it for next season even though I am inclined to leave it as is. This way we have official results and nobody can complain  Grin

They have been tense I'll grant you that, enjoyable not so sure Smiley I lost so many perfect scores in last minutes, gets on your nerves a bit. No matter I plan on hosting these pools next season as well so be sure to check in. They will be in same threads so no way for you guys to miss out. It is just a question of who will be our sponsor. I am tipping on Sportsbet but we haven't talked yet.

Yeah I'm sure we can get a good sponsor again, these pools have only grown, with the exception of poor Champions League haha. And I'm always up to add a little more to the pot, probably the same amount (5 mbtc) for both this and La Liga, since I always set aside money for betting every new season, should be okay to budget.

If somebody has extra time feel free to go trough our pool and write out who is our highest yellow cap score it would be a nice double check. I know it isn't 100% fair but the winner will be highest score no matter how many games were in that game week. All other ways to grade are just too complicated and I am not even sure if they would be more fair.

It's fair. Everyone gets the same number of games and same opportunities, some days you win some you don't.

I'd say imo, the best way is to use highest point average for the week, I mean the number of points divided by the number of games. ie, Some with 30 points from 15 games in the gw, would have 2 points, and some with 21 points from 10 games would have 2.1 points, I don't know if that makes much sense to everybody, but regardless it wouldn't fair to change the rules now, but perhaps from next season if everyone agrees or whatever you as the pool coordinator decide.

Still think the 2-1 is the best score in every league, but too lazy to work out if that's true.

not sure between 2:1 and 2:0, which is better
in Calcio, where all matches are both-to-score, 2:1 probably feels better than 2:0

looking at the table, small chances for Cagliari to avoid relegation, Venezia should be feasible to win over, but Salernitana is playing against Udinese, that have nothing to play for, except for local rivalry (that could be something)

If somebody has extra time feel free to go trough our pool and write out who is our highest yellow cap score it would be a nice double check.

1. vd309         20.5 points in Round 31
2. morvillz7z     20.0 points in Round 10
3. buwaytress     19.5 points in Round 13

It looks like vd309/MoSala will take home a double win, the highest yellow cap score, and the pool win, unless someone tops him in the final round.  He is pretty far in the overall Serie A rankings, 14th as of today...not bad!  Wink

Juve vs. Lazio btts, who says no? Btw, this will be Dybala and Chiellini's last home matches for Juve. I'm hearing Dybala is leaving and likely going to Premier League next season, whichever of Arsenal and Spurs takes the 4th place. Lorenzo Insigne scored in his final home match for Napoli over the weekend, maybe Dybala does the same on his way out, hmm...

I an a bit rusty but I believe 4th place pays out as well, and on top of that we should have something for highest yellow cap.

Yeah, nice, and no rush. I did see the OP but good to confirm it was updated. If I can just hang on,,, at least I get back what I put in. Ha ha.

It's a crazy end of season tbh, not just in this league but looking at the EPL too and, I had to second guess myself a couple of times, couldn't settle for 2-1, or 2-0, and 3-1 or 3-1, the fine line between those 0.5 points to 1.5 extra means a lot, I didn't expect Atalanta not score a goal, while expecting Inter Milan to get clean sheet both went the other way round. At least it's been one a hell of a ride all season long and it's just one more game round to go.

I keep telling myself it's pointless to go for high risks... how many times did I go for 3-0 or 4-0 and still get 1 point like those who went 1-0 or 2-1 when teams go crazy and win 5-2 or something.

All to get 0.5 extra points.

Still think the 2-1 is the best score in every league, but too lazy to work out if that's true.

And Sassuolo get the 1-3 win I had on for so long before changing to what I thought was a safer 1-1. So frustrating that I let their results make me second guess myself.

Season end not bringing any betting joy huh morvillz and Harko. Bookies are loving all of this seriously.

And after today we should know for certain some pool spots. Only top 3 take something home here right?

So on last round Milan have everything in their hands by leading by 2 points. Both Milan and Inter will play against teams which already fight for nothing. But, Inter will play at home and also Milan lost 2 last games against Sassuolo.
It's possible that after few years break Atalanta won't qualify to UEFA cups. Though, in last round their direct competitors Fiorentina will play against Juventus. But, IMO, both Fiorentina and Roma deserves these spots more.
Not at home so I can't check it at the moment but I believe this should be updated for current season and reflecting real state of our bank. I try to make those things clear after registrations close so that there isn't any misunderstandings.
From what I see, OP was last updated in October, so probably it's this season numbers. Though, don't pretend to win something, Serie A is just not my league Smiley. Anyway, still going to joing if you'll make pool next season.
