The price wouldn't increase if Steam or other big websites adopt it but only if there is some really big news/controversies

so, when the major seller of the world for games (indeed, software game, spread like virus) ... use Bitcoin, it's not increase :
- users
- transactions
- wallets
- buyers
- price

Have you read graph in your life ?

people should remember that g2a already offer bitcoin as a payment, and you can find basically every game there with also a better discout

but it's a nice addition nonetheless

G2A (or any other website) don't have skins or in-game items , so BTC is still a great option .
I'm little bit disappointed though , I mean I thought that after seeing that news , price should start going UP already but nothing really happened .
The price wouldn't increase if Steam or other big websites adopt it but only if there is some really big news/controversies like the auction last year which helped the price shoot up by $200. We should be happy that now atleast bitcoins are being treated as a valid payment mode.
If Steam confirmed that they would start accepting Bitcoin, you could expect for the price to go up because there would be more people who would start using Bitcoin as a payment method, since it is an alternative and fairly easy to get currency. Even younger people might flock to this board to start earning Bitcoin so they don't have to use their parents' credit card, but it all comes down to how willing people are to work.

Im so excited for this, I didn't believe it at first, because the creator of Valve (Gave Newel) said that he didn't want Bitcoin on Steam not a long ago, so now if he has really changed his mind, you can expect millions coming to Steam in Bitcoin form because its way more convenient than messy credit card payments.

So far it is not confirmed rumor. We don't have official announcement of Steam actually accepting BTC payment.
But I am sure if that info is right then bitcoin price will gonna go through the roof. Just wait.

Doesn't seem like it to me. They never showed much interest in having Bitcoin, and they could have already implemented it long time ago. Where's the screenshot on reddit from?

yes, but it is more than a rumor. iam sure they will add it in the next months.

I can buy bath salts on Steam now? Shocked

Kinguin offer it. Even if that's still a bit marginal, without the possibility to directly buy the skin you want (you buy random skins from a certain quality, it has his pros and cons), that's still a possibility that you have. What could be really cool would be if beside your fiat money in your account, you could have your wallet money, and that would mean that someone who's good at CS:GO could sell his skins to win some bitcoins. However, I'm not sure if it will be possible for us to withdraw our bitcoins. If we would be unable, that would kill all the charm Undecided.

The availability of games for bitcoin is not the big thing here. Is is the potential exposure that bitcoin will get in a community that is not scared of technology and spending money. I think gamers will be the next round of adopters to get in to the bitcoin game and steam showing the bitcoin logo on the transaction page is good for this.
