Local players especially openers doing their job almost everywhere tho. For Indian team perspective local middle order looks bust completely.

Yes.. I have also noticed this. I thought that the Delhi Capitals were a bit better, but that perception was shattered yesterday. Or it may be due to the fact that the teams are asking their best batsmen to move up the order? In T20, getting a good start is very important. And secondly, some of the players who did the fireworks towards the end of the innings (Hardik, Pollard, Russell, Tewatia.etc) are not in their best form right now. And finally, there may be something unique with the pitches in the UAE, that makes things hard for the batsmen towards the end of the innings.
I think slow pitches in the UAE are the big reasons and playing major part in it. So far majority of matches are low scoring and dominated by the bowlers. I might be wrong but i think we still didn't get to see any 200+ score in UAE leg.

T-20 format is considered batters playground so i wonder if ICC wants some tweaking with the pitches for upcoming WC? Considering spectators do love watching big scoring games.

I had a small bet of 10 bucks on DC tonight, odds were almost same in my local sportsbook so it didn't matter much at the start.

Its seems competition in the pool is getting tight. We still have 6 more matches to go before finals kick in so everything seems possible atm. cheer up folks

Local players are a major weakness for SRH (apart from Saha in batting and at times, Bhuvi in bowling). The absence of Thangarasu Natarajan is not helping things either. Perhaps SRH is the team that is worst hit by the threshold of 4 overseas players per team. If the limit was 5, then I believe that they could have won a lot more matches.

This is becoming norm in this UAE leg, don't know if pitches are that slow or some other reasons but majority of teams and players struggling to keep up with the momentum and ruining the openers efforts.

I mean how many times we have noticed this in UAE leg so far? I would say plenty of examples in recent time.

Almost the same repeated today. But the Delhi Capitals somehow managed to win in the end (they need to say thanks to Gowtham, who dropped Hetmeyer and allowed the ball to sail over the boundary).

The end result is all that matters at the end of the day in any format in any sport. I don't think anyone expected SRH to pull of an upset thanks to their mediocre performances in recent times.

Rashid Khan has been performing consistently well, but Bhuvi has been performing like crap for a long time now. The only team they could probably pull off an upset against is Punjab and we all know the reason.

I just messed up picking CSK in their last two matches. They lost both the matches otherwise, I could be leading the pool with a good margin. Did anyone place bet for CSK? I guess it was my last sports bet for next one month. I can't overcome losing streak for quite a long time in both cricket and soccer; specially in soccer matches.
I'm not anymore going to place bets LOL. Have lost quite a good amount so far.

When you keep everything for the last over, mistakes happen. At one point, Rana had a score of 7 runs from 20 balls. Is this the way to play in T20? He improved his strike rate later, but a lot of unnecessary strain was created as a result of his slow innings. Dinesh Karthik handled things well in the end, else SRH might have pulled of an upset. SRH do have two world class bowlers in Rashid Khan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. But Rana struggled against ordinary bowlers like Umran Malik and Siddarth Kaul.

I disagree. The score was so small that they focused primarily on preserving their wickets which was a good strategy. At the end, they won pretty easily though they dragged the game till the end.

I agree with Vishnu.Reang. The result of the match is likely to change at any time in the T20 format. So every player has to perform very carefully. We have seen the match between Rajasthan and Punjab. Punjab needed only 8 runs in the last 2 overs. They could not win the match even though they had enough wickets. If Dinesh Kartik had not played well in yesterday's match, the result of the match would not have been in favor of Kolkata.

And I guess Dhoni decided not to bat anymore. When was the last time we have seen a decent innings from him? He is good at keeping and skipping, but batsman Dhoni is no more I guess.
Wrong. I guess you didn't watch his recent innings against SRH where he smacked a 6 towards the end to finish the match stylishly. He isn't in his prime anymore, but he is still a dangerous batsman. Also, you are forgetting the most important part(His captaincy skills).

Kolkata batsmen seem to be having a hard time batting for the 116 runs given by Sunrisers Hyderabad. He scored only 42 runs in 9 overs losing 2 wickets. If it continues like this, and suddenly Kolkata loses 2 wickets in one over, then winning their match will be challenging. Kolkata should have scored at least 30 runs in the power play. Nitish Rana managed to collect 1 run off 8 balls

Next is up now. I really hope we will have variations in picking our teams. :-D
Yeah, right lol

Koach and co got entry into playoffs, can he pull off? Don't forget fellas its his last IPL as a Captain for his franchise and he has virtually no reason to leave RCB in near future so its last chance. Let's see if he gets to play in the finals and remove the panuti tag.

Dammit!
I was expecting an easy win when they were in need of 19 runs from the last over. Still I had hope when it was 14 from 2 balls, but then the six, LOL

When the IPL started, I did not have faith on old horses, but it seems I am wrong. They are doing great in batting and bowling, but maybe they need to improve a little in their fielding. Raina is an exception, by the way. And I guess Dhoni decided not to bat anymore. When was the last time we have seen a decent innings from him? How do we all find ourselves going with RCB a comfortable win? webtricks and vishnu seems had a different mind.

Compared to 2020, CSK had two major changes, which benefitted them greatly. First of all, Kedar Jadhav was kicked out of the squad. And secondly, Suresh Raina ended his spat with N Srinivasan and rejoined the squad. Both these factors worked well for CSK. A lot of hype was generated regarding their $1 million purchase of Moeen Ali, but IMO he hasn't played a major role in their wins so far. And then, the role played by Deepak Chahar so far hasn't been recognized by many people. He has been exceptional so far in this season.

CSK's recent winning streak has ended thanks to this loss and RR still have hope to make it to the playoffs. Just a couple more matches before the playoffs. Exciting!

CSK vs RR match was crazy entertaining. Never expected RR to chase down such a huge total with ease. RR is such an unpredictable team in this season. They play like shit sometimes and light up the stadium with amazing performances some other times.

Having said that. Dhoni finished the match with the six after ages so i don't mind much hehe it was paisa vasool moment.
Gave me flashbacks of the World Cup winning 6 which felt great. I think it's the same stadium too.
Bhudda feel kar raha hun WC ko yaad karke lol

Nah it was Wankhede Stadium (50-50 over WC)

Changed my mind for RR. It's now narrow.

Am I safe to say MI is getting out of the contest this season without qualifying for the play off? They are currently standing at 6th position with 10 points. They have to rely on what Kolkata and Punjab do in their matches; of course there’s no alternative of winning next two matches at the first place for them. It will be very surprising since MI was dominating the IPL for quite long time.
I had a bet placed for MI to win & so does for CSK. Already lost the first one though second one seems in my favor so far.
Disappointing and very surprising to see them struggling like this. So far almost every batter looking out of touch and inconsistent in UAE leg, you don't expect that from the champion team but guess as a team they are going through some rough phase or may be opposition players rising to the occasion from time to time against them and making a big difference.

DC vs MI was an entertaining match. Looks like MI are almost out of the qualification race unless luck favours them like crazy from here on out. Was surprised to see DC struggle to chase such a low score.

This match made me realise DC's vulnerabilities due to which CSK or RCB have higher chances of winning the cup this season in my opinion. Decider for RR against CSK up next.
