At Agbe it's so nice that you have received the painting at last, no matter how long it takes. More success and more wins in the next pizza context but have it in mind you will be looking out for a competitor like me next time.  Wink

I only just now noticed this thread!

I'm super happy my painting got to its new owner.

Also thank you for all the kind words, I had fun painting this piece and praise puts the cherry on the top  Grin

Cheers!
1Dq the forum's art guru. I am impressed with this art and am happy Agbe was lucky enough to be the winner. However, I have seen your effort in the artwork you made for the Bitcointalk forum anniversary and waiting for completion as it looks amazing.

Thank you very much for your kind words sir!

As for the BTCtalk anniversary (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/join-the-bitcoin-forum-metaverse-art-project-with-btc-artist-1dq-5501779), I'll post a new fully updated concept art later today!

Cheers!

As far as I'm aware, 1Dq didn't had to pay anything more other than the original shipping quotation. I had close contact with him during the entire process, so I suspect that the package just took an abnormal amount of time considering the final destination (which I knew would take some time, I just wasn't aware that it could take THAT amount of time).

I got you. But I was just giving you an example that if DHL express delivery can take two months to deliver a package while Sportsbet paid high fees to deliver it as soon as possible, then Imagine how long it might take to deliver a regular package. You and I have nothing to do except wait for the customs to release the packages.

I remember a corrupt customs officer calling me via phone number and asking for money so I could get my package. He was like, you won't receive it if you don't pay. DHL won't release that for you. It's all because of corruption.

That is correct, nice eyes!

Thanks  Wink

The reason is so simple. Corruption. Some people work in the customs office who offer faster clearance and ask for money. I said the sender paid all the necessary fees, so I will wait. They asked for over $100 to release a package worth 86 euros or something. Corruption is a major problem in 3rd world countries. I am not saying this is the case with Agbe as well. But I am just saying that these things happen mostly in 3rd world countries.

That's a long time; was it shipped across the Mediterranean Sea, or did the cargo break down in the midst of the sea? I've shipped a couple items from Europe to almost the same destination by Air, and they arrived much faster than I expected. It's free shipping, so I'm sure they'll employ the most cost-effective method available.

Bro!
I don't think anything happened there. I won a prediction contest by Sportsbet back in August 2023. Steve sent me a PM asking for my address details which I sent him on August 21, 2023, and then they packed the jersey and scarf the same week and sent it via DHL (which is known as a good courier service). I don't want to write the whole story here, but it took me more than two months to receive it.

I thought you got the notification at the first mentioned on the creation of the thread. Once again I appreciate your effort to deliver the package to me and the merits.

The gift has reached the right hands, there is no doubt about that, congratulations on winning the award and all praise to the author of the painting for his effort to paint and send the painting.

What surprised me was that it took even 2.5 months (if I understood correctly) for the package to be delivered to Nigeria, which is really incredible - maybe some postman kept it on the wall for 2 months and only then decided to forward it to the rightful owner Wink
Hey!! Lucius my man, I saw your handwork on my "merit bank". I also specifically thank you for encouraging users in the forum with your merits and your contributions.

Congrats on winning the award once again @Agbe. I've lost count how many times I bugged 1Dq regarding knowing the whereabouts of the package, but I am really glad knowing that it finally reached the final destiny.

Your whole house just got more valuable with that canvas Cool.

I am a new member of this forum and am very happy to see this. It is charming work. Such beautiful work on the forum increases the love for the forum. I was so excited to see it that I can't express it. I didn't know this forum had such nice stuff. I especially thank those who organized this contest and all those who participated. It's good to come to work in the forum and organize a contest like this; one can see a love for the forum.

If I wasn't on the forum during the pie contest and didn't know about the forum until I learned about it and came here, hopefully, I will participate in the following pie contest. I like them very much.

My best wishes to the dedicated contest organizers and all the participants, especially the winners. Everyone's future endeavors in the forum will be even more successful. Let's keep the spirit of this forum alive with our collective efforts.

I can't really remember when this contest was held but I know it's been over a year,
Lolz!!! It is not up to a year. It was on the month of April 2024 this year. And normally whenever contest is going on in the forum, it is only those who are frequently visiting, Meta, Reputation and Games and Rounds always have the awareness and for those who are not visiting those boards are not. And the Pie contest was initiated in Games and Rounds Board. And you can read this to know more. Though this is the final result of the contest https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/results-2nd-edition-bitcointalk-pie-baking-contest-5491299 and also the main contest here. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitcointalk-pie-baking-contest-2nd-edition-5485091. It was a nice contest and after the baking and submission, I hate the pie with friends and it was delicious with fruit juice.

Congratulations Agbe for this. I guess after all, it was worth the wait. A beautiful design that has such vivid illustrations. I can't really remember when this contest was held but I know it's been over a year, but nevertheless, good thing your price came to you in one piece.
This forum is a well rounded place as it not only discusses about crypto currencies, it also has soave for individuals to showcase their skills.

Congratulations to the other participants as well..good job and keep it up!

Hey Agbe congratulations I could remember this contest and I don't know it would spend this long to delivered to you. I have forgotten about this and I don't know it would finally get you. I love the design myself.

Once a man, twice a child!

Don't pay attention to the Sherrif;
How do we not pay attention to the workaholic sheriff who has got a tint of vawulence? It's not doable.

Agbe, I congratulate both you and the Sheriff for your wins. Such items won are our plaques. You guys should just help us hold and keep them well oh.

Make una enjoy!

That’s one nice painting Agbe, congrats man. You did good in the contest and now you have a memorable one to show for it through the days that your around. Let’s hope you don’t come to trade it in some day, lol…

I would have loved to see the beauty of the art on a white wall or surface though, the lemon green doesn’t really bring out all of its radiance but, it’s still a good piece.

You having to receive this one from friends here tells just how big these events are and how close we could get. Although, the time it took to send that over was such an enduring one. Am sure the excitement that followed was worth the wait. Good job guys, in seeing this through.

congratulations, the painting looks really good.

I've had my fair share of damaged items being delivered to me when I order something online and it comes from another country, so I'm glad it didn't get damaged or lost during the delivery process especially when the sender is from another country.

The three winners are in the design with their usernames written.
The left is Mame89, the middle is GazataBitcoin and the right is me (Agbe).
apart from the username of the winner, if you look closer you'll also see RickDeckard and 1Dq's username on the other two robots.

Congratulations to you agbe

I think your long wait was worth it as the canvas look pretty cool and also thanks to all that covered the contest too. I hope I will aslo win one of these contest and also have my own canvas hanging on my wall. I think this would serve as a big reminder to your victory in securing a third place position in the pie contest 2024 edition.
