The second chip in chain produces only errors where could be the error?

Code:
./spitest-D 1 5000000

First chip OK

Code:

So I think the sencond chip is trash

We have improved now all the shippings. Unfortunately, the shipping time does not depends on us.  Now we offer a true 24h shipping service as we have UPS shipping, but the price is higher.
All the support related with the 1 chip board is on this thread. Just ask your specific question and provide as much information as you can, like pictures or how did you proceed with the connections. For instance, saying "the chain doesn't work" does not help too much.

We provide the specific version of the software we use. It may be an old version, but we get the best performance with it. We have also posted some alternative and even newer software like chainminer.

The performance of the board depends mainly on the core voltage and the software setups. 2.5 Ghps should be a reasonable performance for this boards. Most users reported a good performance.

We understand your complaint. Just post as much information as you can so we can help you.

OK my questions:
- which values are possible for osc6[8]?
- whereis the set_freq() value in file? Not in this version!

[...]
http://www.minerfactory.com/downloads/cgminer-bitfury.rar

Code:
set_freq(52);

- why found chainminer 8 Chips?
- why is my max hashrate at approx 3Gh/s with two miners?
- and chain is not working means that the setup doesn't produce the double output with two miners!

My setup is like this:
As PSU I have a lab-PSU which is at 6V and it takes with both miners 0.54A.

Are ฿itcoins Radioactive?
ct1aic:

I thought this was solved. We send you a 5V 1A because for 1 board it's enough power. The board takes less than 2W and the power supply we send you is 5W.  Should work fine.

Hi again.

As I told before, I received a 5v @ 0,5A PU and you states at selling page of the kit, that it would be a 12v @ 2A PU.

And what about any help overclocking a little the 1,96 GH Bitfury to give 2,2 or 2,3 GH/s? I only need to know to which files I need to edit and what variables I need to modify, before recompiling cgminer.

Best regards.

Sorry Minerfactory never again!

48h shipping was 10 Day shipping!
No Support!
Old Version of software!
No support for new software.
2.7Gh/s expected 1Gh/s is realistic.
after modding 2Gh/s with one miner.
The chain doesn't work!
Lower hasrates with 2 miners.

Sorry that was the first and the last time I odered at minerfactory.

For an instance, I thought I was the only one with complains... Still waiting for some help/support and justification about wrong things sent to me.

Today I want to try to connect the second miner again.
The second miner has the factory 10kOhm trim resistor.

I think I have 5MHz for the SPI.

With the testingtool from bitfury I can't see any difference between 4 and 5 MHz. at 10MHz the rate drops.

So I resolderd yesterday the trim resistor to a 4.7k resistor. Now the 0.9V is at 0.86V and I get a hashrate of approx 2.3Gh/s with one chip.
This is more than before with two miners.
When I connect the slave miner the rashrate goes down I don't konw why. Has someone a clue?

Did you change some value in spidev.c file? this speed is the speed of the SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) of the RPi, maybe need more speed of communications to manage two devices.

You can modify some values but you won't get more than 2Ghs until you increase the voltage.

Regards

Yes, I understand what you are saying and it's why the Bitfury board includes a variable power supply module and supposedly, a AC-DC adapter (EU plug) to 12V @ 2A  (they sent me a 5V @ 0,5A one!).

The problem is that I don't know and can't get anywhere, what files and variable values do I need to modify, before recompiling cgminer 3.1.1 to get the ASIC overclocked to a reasonable value.

It depends of what cgminer release includes the raspbian included with your Raspberry Pi. In this files you only can change 2 values, variable osc6[8] or function set_freq(xx) in libbitfury.c file and variable speed in spidevc.c file.

My minerfactory board didn't include a variable resistance, my TRIM resistance has a fix value that makes core voltage 0.74 v, you must decrease this resistance to increase core voltage. Then you will get some more hashrate but you will need some heatsink too.

The VRM is 3A capable. Enough for 1 chip.

ct1aic, entendemos que el starter kit con todo configurado si que es para principiantes. En cambio las placas sueltas no.
Hi.

I understand that. I only ask some help with the location of the values to modify, before I can recompile cgminer 3.1.1 and get more than 1,9 GH/s from my Bitfury. I'm using the original image sent by you, that doesn't have the same locations and values as the example given by vitruvio at https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.3140491.

Also, as already commented earlier, you sent me a power unit of 5V/1Amp, instead of the one stated at your site. I'm still waiting for a contact from nekonos, promised 1 week ago. I tried the version 2 of your image, but the "screen -r" of that version is full of debugging info and I reverted to the version you sent me in the SD card included in the kit.

Hello ct1ac

The problem you have with raspebrry is to load the driver.
I write this from memory try:

cd spic1
sudo sh drivers.sh
cd ..
cd cgminer-bitfury
sudo ./cgminer -o "pool" -u "user  -p "pass"

You can try another image version for rapsberry pi if you have other sd card 4gb.

This - ver. 2: 2013-Sep-27_BFSB_GM2 have a http interface more frendly, you can connect directly with ip of raspberry. We don't test with 1 chip board but should work.

You will need win32diskimager to write the img file to sdcard. Guide

I will contact latter for other thinks

I think the VRM has not enough power. I'll try to power the chip with an external lab psu with 0.7V.

I'll report the results.
