That could work as well. People have been kicking it around for a while and well nobody ever did anything. If someone could figure out how hashrates scales to shares/second I could probably do it myself.

I had a question about another feature/bug:

When bitHopper is mining on a pool and there is a problem, why does it hop to the backup pool while there's another pool available?
I'm using altslice.

I go to sleep now! See you guys tomorrow! (0:33 over here...)

that would be making share graphs based on hash-rate/s and reset it with the "Low Profile" signalling ?

I only turned it on for the default. And Its looking like it doesn't work. I'm going to have to do some more debugging.

I've seen that it doesn't slice but thought it's normal

just enabled all pools I don't mine on info and all I say is WOW, I have a nice network overview from this blue page

edit: could not be working because we have apis that sample hash-rate of the pools not round shares ?

c00w - does it matter what scheduler is used w/ --startLP & deepbit?

right now pident is predicting the last block found a few seconds ago was by btcguild block 140014. at 48% chance.

just putting this here, to see if it was correct when they have the info.

so far havent mined deepbit or btcguild but it is too early to say anything about that.

the newest block 140015 they say is 96% chance it is deepbit.. mind you they have accuracy issues as well... but this is just a place holder to see how well they predicted those two.

14016 ...98% chance deepbit

The block who generated the most BTC ever is block 139,896: it generated 66.20996865 BTC!

wont be long before miners demand pools share all that... many keep the transaction fees.. which works now but next year when we drop to 25 coins per block.. it wont.

14014 appears to have been bitcoin.lc.. oh well it was only 48% chance it was btcguild. but I am interested in the deepbits which it seems to think is about 96%

@beef
Well you have to have a LP system which supports it to hop deepbit. Which is why the bitHopper LP system got rewritten.

So there may be some lag before everyone else catches up. An implementation is always worth more than the idea.

you think you do better with cherry picker just with bitclocker?.. i still make decent over there. but i dont get to mine as much as i would like.
c00ws seems to have faster development and more pools and I havent quite figured out making my own cherry pickers pool configs too well.,

anyways you know if deepbit works.. cherry wont be far behind adding it.

Um, I just switched a bunch of pools to be info without setting up associated acounts & passwords. A bunch of them worked. So if you don't want to have to deal with it, don't.

The suspense is killing me waiting for the first report on whether deepbit mining is working and the related efficiency rating.  This is something that might make me switch back to bithopper from Cherrypicker.  Deepbit vs bitclockers . . . . .

wow the stats page is starting to get some scroll to it... nice

So, for all the backup pools I should make accounts and set them to just info? Does the more "info" specified pools help deepbit mining?

oh crap.. well i guess it is about to get even more.. BBS going to reenable all i can.. to info..  and see who still gives stats.

you can say that again, guess I will enable all my "info" sources too if it helps

Um not really. Its better to set pools to info instead of disable as long as their API works so that we don't mine on deepbit when those servers find a block.

Or at least make sure all the "bigger" pools have "info" on them? since they are more likely to find blocks then the tinier pools?

@paraipanakos
I accidentally turned on some getwork debug statements. I'll move them over to debug.

Does the amount of pools I have set up / specified in user.cfg affect the way --startLP and deepbit mining works?

c00w, this software is really coming along.  I haven't even been using it 2 weeks, and I am shocked at how much it has evolved in this short of a time.  Good job

Set btcguild role to mine_deepbit.

Oh and the payout is what money you have been paid at the pool. It is for doing efficiency calculations.
