Sorry you are still waiting for your money.
But bitinstant is making money hand over fist and they are not going to throw all that away to "scam" you out of a few measly bucks. It is convoluted the way it uses bitinstant, money gram, and ZipZap. Because of laws regarding $US dollars, this is the best you are going to get right now.
If you are a bank or have a licenses to transmit money, then please do open up a competitor.

The whole western union thing kind of made me feel uneasy. I cant wait until cash for bitcoin kiosks begin to show up in more places. Definitely the person who does that on a large scale will make serious bank.

There's certainly a lot of delays going on right now.  Bitinstant has admitted to this in recent interviews and have talked about it in their blog postings.

One problem they admittedly have is that when you give bitinstant money they don't actually receive it for a few days, but typically pay people instant. So when demand goes through the rough like it has recently it turns into a problem where they don't have enough reserves to pay people right away. This causes a  lot of problems obviously.

Also I think ALOT of these cases is people simply entering wrong account numbers.  For example bitinstant gives an example of using your mtgox account number that starts with the letter "M". Meanwhile on mtgox when you go to funing options/bitinstant it tells you to use a completly different account number.  I actually don't know which one to use now,  but I wonder if that's causing problems for people as well.

The good news is i've yet to see a verified case of someone never getting their money. At worst people face long delays and scream and yell that it's a "SCAM".  But i've yet to see anyone get scammed, just poor customer service and delays.

Did you post your order info here.... https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/official-newbie-bitinstant-support-thread-active-customer-support-128314

That's the thread called "Official Newbie BitInstant Support Thread (Active Customer Support)", so I would guess you can get things resolved there.

Thats a very broad accusation bro, especially to BitInstant.

You should try contact their customer support and sort it out. I'm positive this is a misunderstanding Cheesy

I don't care I have loyalties to BitInstant, they took my money and delivered nothing in return. I've tried contacting them from every direction possible with no success. The only option left now is to buy a plane ticket and fly to New York.

Is it possible that Bitinstant is going out of business and keeping everyone's money? Look at there facebook page and the recent user posts. Also check out this page bitinstantscam.com

I'd rather trade with a trusted member of this forum than use these opaque exchanges... jmo

I agree. I was about to purchase my first coin today but started doing some extensive reading regarding BitInstants service and read plenty of negative threads convincing me to withdraw from making such a transaction. Shame. I guess I'll try purchasing BTC locally  Grin

Well, you need to fund Mt.Gox before you can buy bitcoin....  Mt.Gox has several methods to fund your account.  Per advertising, Bitinstant appears to be fastest ( they said within 1 hour)....  But, that now looks like a pipe dream.....

BIT INSTANT worked beautifully for a long time, but I don't know what happened to them, I am starting to think they scammed me.

I deposited coins Monday April 1st via Moneygram from CVS. It has been 7 days and my money is not there. I have a successful confirmation from ZIP ZAP that they have received the money.

1. I have tried to contact BIT INSTANT VIA PHONE and at least 6 emails no response. I get auto reply from [email protected] and no communication after that. I deposited the money using my blockchain.info wallet.  Unlike MT GOX when you make a deposit through Blockchain.info, you do not get a bit instant quote id and transaction ID.

2. I don't know what happened to them, but I  lost $500 dollar deposit. I am yet to receive my money. If Bitinstant would like to preserve its reputation, I suggest they start PM ing us those who feel have been scammed and resolve this issue. I have zip zap transaction confirmation, but no coins in my account.

So the person who initially started this thread claiming they are scammers, has every right to think that way, because I can vouch it has happened to me as well.

I am willing to provide email copies and zip zap confirmation just to prove everything. I may have lost $500 dollars but this is serious flaw to bitcoin economy and needs to be resolved.

-Regards

The experience was horrible, and that is me sugar-coating and doubling up the hot fudge, whipped cream and cherries.

Maybe you should examine some things instead of biting the hands that feed you, and retaliating in these threads.

Hey,

Most people would not call "responding and resolving" as "retaliating"

We have many things to code, process, and fix, but I still come here to make sure everything is good.

You still did not give me your Order information, so I dont know what issue you are referring to.

Let me know so I can help
