I'm convinced the people here "worrying" about difficulty levels rising and "suggesting" people do anything OTHER than order a D3 are just fudding and in reality want all the D3's for themselves. Right now, these units have a 9 day ROI. even if earnings drop 4x you're still looking at ROI under 1 single month. Yes customs and bitmain website and order process are huge pains in the ass, but if you can get through it you're gonna do very well. don't listen to the people crowing about difficulty. When difficulty goes up, generally the value of the underlying coin goes up - JUST LIKE DASH IS EXPERIENCING RIGHT NOW. even though difficulty goes up, profitability does not proportionally decline.

anyway i got 14.

by the way, if you're serious about mining, you need to check out the gigawatt white paper and the WTT token.

guys I have opened ticket 5 days ago on their support but I still don't get any response... Any idea how I can push this issue? I want to send the missing amount to be order marked as Paid finally...

I'm at 7 weeks now.

I was curious about the status on one of my orders last night and decided to call Bitmain's hotline (+86-400-890-8855). I chose option 2 for English and then waited for the automated recording that was telling me something about how I should submit a support ticket online. Then it started giving me more options. I selected 1 for Sales. I was immediately greeted in Chinese by a woman and I asked if she spoke English - which she did. I have her my order number and she was able to confirm that everything was good and preparing for shipping.

If you guys want faster help, please give this method a try.

Guys I think that something is wrong with my order.. Sad
I ordered one D3 (October batch) on 2017-08-03
I sent money fot that on 2017-08-07
Order status is after 2 weeks still: Paying, Unshipped, Valid

Now I check my order and I can see something strange. There is Payment Details like this:

Payment Detail
Total Amount :   1651.27 USD
BANK :   1626.27 USD
BTC/USD rate :   2813
LTC/USD rate :   43.9
USD/CNY rate :   6.72
Time of Payment :   2017-08-09 04:51:04

Do you have any idea why is the BANK amount lower? Is this means that bitmain received about 30 USD less then I sent? I am sure that I choosed "PAY ALL FEES" when I processing the payment.
Do you have any idea how I can solve this? I have opened ticket on bitmain support but I don't get response.

hello
i've got the same problem,
"It means your payment has fell short by $25 due to bank fees or something and you will have to pay the balance using BTC/LTC and you will receive a email with payment wallet address."

yes - just to clarify - I got one miner which cost me 10k

I see, yes I think I was still under-caffeinated there, I got your message mixed up with someone else's who got 4.

I tried to write a reasonable answer to your question, but the best and most accurate answer I can provide is: "I have no idea".  I realized this after typing out a different response below... it was so full of 'I don't know's and 'You should ask someone else' that I just deleted it.   After looking into how Dash rewards are calculated, frankly I probably never should have responded anyways.  Your guess is as good as mine.

Without knowing how many D3's were sold (my guess, about 40k), or other major miners out there (Bitmain D3 is not the only new mega Dash miner on the way), it's hard to say where the diff will land.  10x higher diff? 20x?  30x?  It's going to go way, way up.  And Bitmain will of course be selling more of these as time goes on.

But then the Dash payout structure is also hard for me to decipher.  It's based on a projected average 2 year diff rate, not the instantaneous sampled rate... There's master nodes that get a cut, there's minimum and maximum payouts... and there's potential appreciation of Dash to consider, as well as BTC's constant march upwards.

So I'm sorry man but I really don't know.  If I had to roll the bones, I'd say you're looking at $15-20 a day by December, and less every day afterwords.  It'll be more than that at first but it will drop quickly.  10k is going to be a very hard target to hit.

Hi Guys
I spend some time reading all information on this topic - I would like to ask a serious question and your honest opinions about my situation with DASH.
I bought D3 from re-seller from FIRST batch for 10.000$.

Do you guys think there is a chance to get ROI by the end of they year ?

Should I try to renegotiate the deal with re-seller?
- If yes what arguments should I use when trying to beat the price a bit
- I know he paid 2.5K$ to bitmain and will have to pay import taxes etc.

I got the feeling that 10K$ wont be possible to get from it from end of Sept to end of DEC and I just wondering what should be the reasonable price which I can try to negotiate with him.

Many Thanks for any help...

The math I've done on it would seem to indicate you'll be hard pressed to get 10k by end of year.  However, getting in on first batch will help a lot, your profits will be much higher than later batches, obviously.  It looks like when the D3's all ship, Dash diff is going up by 20x-30x... so daily return is going way down.  Especially when that much larger last batch ships.  You might get $100+ a day for a while when you first get the device.

[EDIT: I misread the OP, no coffee yet here.  4 devices total?  Yeah you'll make 10k by end of year, imo.  Most of it in the first month.]

I think if I were you, my plan would be to hold all the dash you mine for as long as possible, because as the diff goes up, the value of existing coins should too.  That will retroactively raise your income rates (but not if you've already converted it to BTC/fiat/etc).

Its early days of dash mining still. all batches so far will be just fine. like mining bitcoin in 2013 i think. no need to worry so much. Cheesy

I think this is the right answer.  You could have BTC mined in 2012 at a terrible ROI and still be way ahead if you held onto it until now.  It might be a long wait but there's nothing to say you have to actually mine that entire time, just don't spend it.  I think maturity time is more like six months in this case, not six years, so that's not too bad if so.

I had to ask myself the same question.  I had ordered a couple of D3's in the previous batch and I was questioning how sane that was.  Then this last batch came up and I just looked at the numbers and it just makes more sense to me to just put that money into Dash.  If it is really going to skyrocket to save everyone who bought miners then your going to be making a nice profit by holding coin and still taking much less risk.

So the last batch I decided to just sink that money into some Dash instead of buying more miners.  I will probably just mine a little to Dash going forward just to keep adding to my hedge.  With that many miners coming online everyone is betting big on Dash flying high... Well then it makes more sense to me to be holding coin instead of the miners. YMMV

Need some opinions - This thread is too big to look for previous comments, appreciate your reply/feedback.

Trying to jump on the Alt coin bandwagon and have 3 days left to pay on Antminer D3 November 16-24 batch - I read about the batch of 1800 from bitmain and the hashrate and network difficulty going up exponentially.

Question does it make sense to spend on the D3 that will come in November ? Assuming Dash does not go over $500, I am not sure if the ROI would be within a year, especially after the network difficulty shoots up like crazy.

any data based profitability analysis would help..i was also thinking would it make more sense just to buy equivalent Dash right now instead of buying the D3..if Dash goes up, i would still make some money

Any thoughts are appreciated.

I believe there is an "ignore" option here that will cause a user's posts to simply not exist for you.

I wish - the only thing "ignore" does is remove the text of posting, NOT the headers.

That's progress. Smiley

Not just Dash but these Asics as a whole should kickoff rennassaince of x11 algo coins again. This is my opinion anyway of course I may be wrong. Only thing I worry about is how badly UPS will beat the boxes up when shipped. Really hoping bitmain packs these things to survive the long shipment to my hometown.

currently CANN is most attractive, i'm mining it with Baikal Miner A900. However, its not even close to 10$ a day. What spew out by the coin calculator is not true. Normally only 70% true.

Hi I had a question about CANN, I noticed on WhatToMine CANN is making more than DASH, what pool and wallet do you use?

Thx

Problem is it will take only around 20 d3s to double the difficulty so i imagine it wont be that much more profitable if a couple units get thrown on their network.

Can we get back on track...

Peoples plans on mining with the D3?

Straight for DASH ?

Use nicehash = auto payout to BTC?

Dash + hold for 500-600 + if we get there?

I will keep the Dash coins at least for 6 months and hope for the coin to skyrocket

Mining difficulty is at 1.2 Million today,  it keeps going up and down and the first batch
Is not even out yet... I don't understand

Hi,
do you know a good DASH pool to mine from and get paid in DASH?
AS I understand it using Nicehash only pays with BITCOIN, so that would not be a good choice correct?

I only the one that was mentioned just before, SuperNova.

I bought a used Dr3 in April from the US. A UPS employee stole it, to cover it up UPS kept claiming customs was holding it and wasn't happy about the declared value. The US UPS and French UPS had 2 different stories. Both the miner and the PSU were in different packages and were stolen. UPS covered it up and said they will not reimburse. They'll have a shock when they get a summons though, negligence and malice are not negated by a contract. they did not perform their due diligence and didn't even reimburse us for the shipping. Fuck UPS.

That is crazy the whole process of getting these in hand is several layers of rough riding. From ordering to shipping to import fee and holding. The struggle is definitely real for mining with these. I told my ups guy flat out when he delivered all the pdu's that I had some items coming from shenzen and that they need to reach me intact...I tip this UPS guy all the time so hoping no issues. Sorry to hear this happened to you that is totally messed up.

Most important part I left out, the local UPS manager called customs and customs said they never held them.
