Guys I think that something is wrong with my order.. Sad
I ordered one D3 (October batch) on 2017-08-03
I sent money fot that on 2017-08-07
Order status is after 2 weeks still: Paying, Unshipped, Valid

Now I check my order and I can see something strange. There is Payment Details like this:

Payment Detail
Total Amount :   1651.27 USD
BANK :   1626.27 USD
BTC/USD rate :   2813
LTC/USD rate :   43.9
USD/CNY rate :   6.72
Time of Payment :   2017-08-09 04:51:04

Do you have any idea why is the BANK amount lower? Is this means that bitmain received about 30 USD less then I sent? I am sure that I choosed "PAY ALL FEES" when I processing the payment.
Do you have any idea how I can solve this? I have opened ticket on bitmain support but I don't get response.

Their bank fees came out. I got an email a few days later asking me to pay the balance via LTC. Paid it and i was good. The second time i ordered i included an extra 35 bucks to cover their bank fees. Went through no problem. As far as i know there is no pay all fees option to cover the receiving bank fees because the sending bank has no idea how much the fees are going to be. Thats what the lady at my bank told me anyways.

How many days it was took to got mail from them about it? I hope they will contact me but time is going...

hello
i've got the same problem,
"It means your payment has fell short by $25 due to bank fees or something and you will have to pay the balance using BTC/LTC and you will receive a email with payment wallet address."

Jihan Wu ceo of Bitmain say 100k bitcoin in 5 years. last few seconds of short video

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/videos/2017-08-18/bitcoin-s-rally-proving-a-boon-for-china-video

At the rate Wu is going, BTC could be worth $6 per in 5 years.  World finance will not participate in some half-baked scheme centralized around one guy with a hot lead on ASIC chips.

Wu: Haha, I will run the largest pool, but make daily payments of incredibly small amounts, so anyone that tries to use that money will have higher transaction fees!

Wu: Haha, I will keep those transaction fees for myself, even though they are by design intended for the miners.

Wu: Haha, I will make my own copy and paste crypto, scalp value from BTC and use BTC to pump up my own coin!

(financial institutions slowly back away from the lunatic)

(financial institutions call up chip manufacturer -> 'How many truck loads of money will it take to get this idiot out of the equation?')

Wu: Aww... now I'm kinda sad.  Well at least I have my own crypto!

(financial institutions call up a half dozen programmers -> 'How much to write a new coin, Wu coin has screwed the pooch' -> Coders: 'We'll do it for free!')

Five minutes later, BTC tanks, new coin skyrockets.  Without constant influx of Wu-cash to pump up BCC, it craters.

Wu: Awww, now I'm very sad!

Wait till segwit2 +2mb hits and bitcoin core has said it will not go along with it....that will be all that Jihan Wu head of bitmain to go thru with his fork threat...ie move his hash
either to segwi2 +2mb or to bitcoin cash...anyway, my view

now then, we'd be living an interesting life......what a cluster...

If that happens, what's the result?  Total hash goes down a lot, diff goes down a lot, BTC value goes down a bit, mining profits go up a lot?  Sounds like a net win to me, BTC will recover.  Everything I've seen about the Wu experience says BTC is far better off without him.

I wish I could find a miner supplier that wasn't based in China.  Nothing against Canaan, I haven't heard anything bad about them... but I have really soured on buying anything from somewhere with 0 accountability.  I think the general operating assumption over there is 'theft and fraud are bad, unless the victim is not from China'.  Is there anything out there or is Bitmain and Canaan the only game in town?

rumor has the koreans are buying the shit out of btc and now dash, reason for the current surge.

One word: TRUMP

Would you not do the same, if a foreign leader could launch an attack, that might cause North Korea to fire their
30,000 or so conventional artillery pieces into Seoul? (30 miles away) and kill an estimated 3-4 million folk...

and you have no frigging idea if that is possible or now w/o consulting your own gov't?

There are worse things to buy and hedge with then BTC and crypto's under such circumstances, imho.

rumor has the koreans are buying the shit out of btc and now dash, reason for the current surge.

BTC or BCC?

My guess for BCC would be Wu is trying to pump up his crapto-coin to make mining it look profitable.  So he torches through a bunch of BTC on Bittrex etc buying BCC at any price until the value goes up.  If so, I'd guess NEO will be next.

I think Dash is going up because everyone knows the D3, if it delivers the hashrate promised, is going to raise the diff rate skyhigh and value will go up.  Everyone's buying Dash now, I bought some earlier today.

Hmm anyone else getting a security warning when logging into their bitmain account?

Yep.  Looks like Bitmain got hacked.  Probably pissed off the wrong hacker.  Time to update your password, and any other accounts on any other websites with the same password.

Maybe some benevolent black-hat could help me finally get my order marked as 'Paid'.  At this point it sounds more likely than Bitmain ever doing so.

If your order was invalid, it would be wiped out.

Took them 2-3 weeks to validate mine by email, but only took support 3 days to get back to me about it. They're swamped and wire transfers have to be verified manually, unlike crypto. That was for something i bought in june, before the crazy shit going down with the D3.

If you paid, you're good, and whatever you ordered, will be there on time. Bitmain doesnt rip people off by not shipping products they have to sell to clear floor space.

If they dont send you their old 15GH/s miners, they wouldn't have space to operate their new 30GH/s miners. lol

Nah, they sold all the S9's already.  Floor space is not a problem over there, hasn't been since BTC blew up a few months ago.

Wu figures the average American will not pay the $461 to fly over to Beijing and doesn't have a valid passport anyways, so there are some people he can rip off with impunity because there are no repercussions.  I do have a valid passport and $461 represents the income of one miner over one month, so if that's what it takes for me to get what I paid for... at this point I wouldn't rule anything out.

Draw parrelel between the 2 threads https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/antminer-l3-250mh-400watt-scrypt-miner-coming-soon-1734098
We see the same things being said (death of scrypt, Armageddon, end of days) in the L3 thread. Many of the same people too. I just found this ironic and wondered why after living through so many generations of rigs people can't help themselves but to cry Ragnarok.

There are two emails: the first is sent as soon as the order is placed, the second one is sent after it is confirmed at paid. The first one has the subject line: BITMAIN Order Details. The second one's subject line is: BITMAIN Order Paid. At least that's what I get when paying with cryptos.

Never got either.

I ordered on 7/18, paid on 7/19 and received the email on 7/20 fully paid.

BITMAIN Order Paid

Order ID: 00120170718xxx
Date: 2017-07-18 16:22:52
Total: 2916.48 USD
Payment method: USD Payment

That's probably why I never received the same email then, they have never actually marked my order as 'Paid'.  Thanks for clearing that up.

So is that true you the PSU provided by antmain would be dangerous to run a D3 in america with?

I don't own any Bitmain products, so this is just a guess... but if it's anything like how Spondoolies firmware works, the miner will throttle itself down to the power that is available.  So not exactly dangerous, just not optimal.  Running a transformer at 100% for prolonged time can't be good though, so it would almost certainly wear out faster.  This is assuming you're talking about 110v btw, most homes do have at least one or two 220v circuits for driers and ovens etc.  I run mine off my oven's circuit since I barely use it, no problems yet.  220v is better anyways, use 220v if at all possible.

The danger, if any, of any power intensive device like miners is inadequate gauge power wires.  They get hot, eventually melt the insulation, and stuff burns.  Use heavy cables.

The 220 thing is simple ohms law.  Power = Volts * Current.  Therefore, Current = Power / Volts.

The thing that melts wires is too much current.  1200 watts / 220 volts = 5.45 amps of current.  Obviously, with 110 volts you get 2x the current.  Of course you can still over do a 220v line with too many devices, however it does take 2x the devices to do so. Smiley
