Anyone know which batches exactly have been good and problem free, and which batches are having all these issues?

All batches of S9s have been problematic.

That sucks. It would almost make sense that buying used miners would be the smarter move than waiting for a new batch, no? Cheaper price if used, plus you know the miner has been tested for months with no failure, whereas if you buy brand new, it could fail next month.

Just the way I see things.

I think my PCB board is dead, I checked my hashing boards on another S9 and they are working properly, but when I connect them to the original PCB board all the hashing boards are showing xxxx.
Is there any chance to get the S9 parts with the original seller or on amazon/ebay ?

here is an auto tune controller

well first you need to know if the batch your miner came from was before the auto tune firmware or after. the next thing is to find out if its a post t9 miner or a pre t9 miner. either way im sure you wont have much luck finding a spare controller on ebay or amazon...your better off emailing bitmain about getting a replacement...they arent too expensive i dont think. the only way people are selling spare parts is if a miner broke and they wanna make money off the pieces that still function properly. since most s9's are still under warranty or are running fine chances are no one has had to scrap their s9 for whatever little bit of money it can get on the secondary market. you can try but why waste the time and effort? just email them and get info on a replacement controller.

Hopefully when they release a new batch the quality control will be better.

I received a S9 from Bitmain today, and one of the hashing board doesn't appear in the S9 management page.
It runs only at 2/3 hashrate , brand new out of the box ...
Just opened a ticket ...

the bitmain quality is falling down when they are moved from 28nm to 16nm die ...
S7 are bulldozers ...
S9 are paper plane ...

Got my Feb 28th s9 today. Plugged it in and 1 board is only reading 37 asics instead of 63 and hashing at about 100gh/s. The other 2 boards are hashing normally. Tried restarting several times with different psu's/cables and get the same result every time. Nothing's loose or rattling around. Damn Bitmain. When are you guys gonna get your act together? I'm done buying their gear.

Makes me wonder if they tossed some old chips from an s1 in there.

This really sucks. Wish you good luck dealing with them and have the shipping waived.

...nothing loose or making any noise.

I opened a ticket and waiting for a response. The problem is having to pay $250 to ship it back to them. Fed-Ex US -> China, isn't cheap.

Open a claim with FedEx because it was likely damaged in shipping.

It wasn't damaged in shipping. There is no physical damage to the box or miner.

...nothing loose or making any noise.
I'll probably wind up send it to Colorado for repairs.

Well, if China doesn't work out ... that really sucks though.  Where at in CO?I hope you lucked out and got it at the 1445 price when BTC took a jump.  I am thinking BITMAIN may be getting used to wanting to keep customers. This is my first order.

The problem is there is so little competition and you're not getting the same hash.
bitmainwarranty.com is in Colorado. They do repairs on bitmain gear for a fee. shipping is much cheaper and time lost from mining is less.

Try opening a ticket.  Did you shake it lightly to see if a heat sink fell off?

Yes, I tried that. nothing loose or making any noise.

From what I understand, I would stop hashing immediately and open a ticket.  Sad

I got my 13.5 TH/s, Feb 28, today.  I'm getting 13.6 ...
