... we are lucky to have anyone selling us miners the way btc mining has gone all corporate.

No doubt.  That's why I am buying these things.  They seem to be getter bigger scale and, then, do we know how to make S9 style in the US?  China is ahead of the West in BTC. The only group I know about is BitFury and I'm not sure they're US and it looks like they specialize in 15PH/s mobile centers.

IMHO, many will drop out of S9 level mining (10-200Th) IF price stays the same and difficulty doubles or triples.
100-200th is probably about as much as someone can handle in a house/attachment.
small mining (sticks, pods, boards) will continue, of course.
then again, if both difficulty and price triples in parallel, the status quo would be maintained.

Because of forum posts like this, which might deter "idiots like me" from buying from them, and maybe a few class actions... However, they are always welcome to fix their problems if they really want to...

Are they really that bad?  I mean it sucks USA doesn't design/build too, but I just ordered my first two S9s.  I assume most have a good experience or they would not stay in business.  Plus, I have an S3 that claims to have 1100 days of activity clocked.

S9s are not awful.  But you are more likely to have an issue with one than with an S7 or S5.  Neither of which will do much for you now.  And the S9 is the most expensive miner this late in it's product stage.  I think part of the reason people get pissy about breakdowns is the poor repair options and loss of mining time.  Not to mention the virtual monopoly Bitmain enjoys.
In my opinion, we are lucky to have anyone selling us miners the way btc mining has gone all corporate.

I'd like to warn people over here about Bitmain's poor customer service and poorly built products, as I'm waiting for a few months atm for a broken hash board of an R4 miner to get repaired. Moreover, their PSUs sometimes don't switch on at all, and you need to wait a few hours before trying to get them working again by pulling out the power plug and then putting it back in the wall socket again, and another S9 miner switched broke and it took a few months to get it working again. Bitmain, please fix your problems and train your support staff better, as the current staff seems completely unreliable to solve time-critical problems as which may arise with bitcoin mining. It might be superfluous to tell you all that we're still waiting for apologies and a fitting compensation for the damage this problems causes to our mining operation. @Bitmain: thanks in advance and don't hesitate to send a private message in order to get things working again!

Why should they care??? You idiots will keeping buying their crap at a loss......no matter what!!!! LMAO!!!!!!!!  Cheesy Grin Cheesy Wink

Buy video cards till sidehack gets his miners built!!!!  Cool

You cant mine bitcoin with GPUs and Sidehacks miners wont be an option for people that want to make real profits from mining. For now you have to buy from one of the 3 main companies manufacturing miners.

Yes,mine altcoins instead of BTC cause the big miner corps are raising the diff over & over & over & you'll just lose your butt over & over & over  Cheesy

I think fanatic26 is referring to alt-coin mining not btc mining with GPUs.

The s9 miners are not more in the Bitmain Shop and not only marked with sold out :-)
It is possible a new miner generation will come?

It would be senseless to make a new chip.

So if new gear comes it could be the T9. Maybe 10 th using 1400 watts and it does not break.

New chip. Not for a year or longer.

I am with you on this one.  Intel is bringing out new chips, but this takes a while (1-1.5 years) before we see the new chips in mining.  I will also agree with Phil on the incremental upgrades of the current chips to be more reliable/efficient before we see the 7nm in mining.

Bitcoin Talks Bullshit Walks
Well this is good news and also bad news,.  Good news we can start to combat the endless trove of thieves that btc seems to harbor.  Bad news we prolly only seen the beginning of price to tank.  Be interesting if it tanks far enough and people have to withdrawal their s7.. what will happen .. Anyone guess.  Somehow I think Bitmain may have some trouble producing enough s7.  time will tell. Lets hope this is only opportunity to buy lower.  http://www.coindesk.com/two-chinas-biggest-exchanges-stop-bitcoin-withdrawals/

http://www.bitcoinforecast.com/kraken.usd

Lets hope you took the advice and didn't invest more than you can afford to lose.. Lord knows i sure lost my hat with all this BS.  Time to dump everything for me.  Ive flat out had enough

Good luck to all in your future endeavors.  Took me long enough.. But this crap just isn't my forte

With Best Regards and well wishes.
