ANNNDD the R4 is now sold out,

don't know why everyone is rushing, I am waiting for Monday to buy the Avalon!

The R4 has been sold out since they first launched it. They haven't released any subsequent batches yet, only S9's have had more released Wink

Have they really only released one batch? and my bad sorry  Shocked

Yea, just the one. I emailed a little while ago asking if they had more in the pipeline but got a vague message saying that they were in demand and some other stuff which didn't really relate to the question I asked. But anyway that's a discussion for the R4 thread Wink.

Quick question. Whats the average fan speed the S9 does to stay at the temp it needs (I know its ambient temperature dependant)? Also whats the max RPM the fans do?
4300rpm fan and a 6000rpm fan.
This question is highly S9 model and ambient temperature etc. dependant. Try to find the sweet spot in your conditions.

Thanks HagssFIN. Just trying to work out whether (when I have enough BTC) to buy an S9 or an R4. As its the noise that would drive me crazy. My S7LN fan speed never gets above 1800rpm in an abient of 19-20degreesC. I know the heatsinks are larger so cool more effectively but the S9 or R4 would only be clocked to run at 4TH anyway so im hoping I could get the fan speed down to 1800-2000rom on the S9. Does that sound feasible?
Sounds possible depending on your conditions of course.
In that situation you should have about 400-500W of heat to dissipate.
The problem is that I don't know if that kind of a underclock is possible with the new S9 models.

That's why I would spend a little more on an older 11.85th S9 from that Eastshore place and if I find the underclock wouldn't work across three boards I would run just two boards at a freq that would suit.

On a side note, thanks for sharing your experience with the eatshore company, as ive said before its the customs fee that would kill it for me so finding that place (although slightly more than buying direct from bitmain will save me money on customs.
Np. Yeah my second third S9 is on the way from Eastshore, in international shipment release in Shanghai at the moment (carrier: Fedex).

where all account info has gone from bitmain?
when i log in (successfully), there is an empty space.
there is an icon, when I click on it it say account, click on account, it says  information and security settings and NOTHING ELSE.
weird (ALL prior orders are not showing)

does anybody else have the same situation?

Got it, it is organized in an awkward way: you account info only visible when you actually place an order, NOT when you login to bitmain.
makes some sense

In firefox: when click on coupons, there is a blank page that says coupons on the top with number 1 on the bottom, nothing to choose.
I guess I don't have any or it is wrong page layout.

Dear Bitcoiners,

We are launching two new batches of the Antminer S9 today.

Batch 20 and batch 21 can deliver a hashrate of 13TH/s and 13.5TH/s, respectively.

They will be available here after 2300 hours (Beijing time, GMT +8) today (8 November 2016).

We advise all to confirm their order while stock lasts.

Happy mining,

the Bitmain team

Looks like someone has nicehash locked up at 1.8 for 20th

yeah so point there and be paid close to double for as long as it lasts.

I tried pointing my S9's at NiceHash, but am seeing a ton of rejects (30%). The S9's are behind a Stratehm stratum-proxy.

I've tried enabling and disabling extranonce, as well as setting a reasonable difficulty. Still tons of rejects.

I posted on the NiceHash thread, but if anyone has suggestions for here for getting S9's to work well with NiceHash, I'd appreciate the info.

nicehash does not like that proxy.. your rejects are duplicates. its because your lan isnt fast enough..

you have to set the pool#1 to NH with a p= password, i use 1.4 then pool#2 is the proxy. i use the proxy for zpool cause it makes it a little more stable.

Thanks. That's exactly what I ended up doing.

Not clear what you mean by my LAN not being fast enough though. The LAN connection is gigabit, and the WAN connection is 100 MBs bidirectional. The NiceHash URL I'm using is in the next town over from the data center where my miners are. Can't get much better than that.

I doubt this is a network performance problem. That said, I'm running the proxy on an RPi, so maybe there's a performance issue there. Although I've never seen this problem on any other pool.
