Getting an S9 is really tempting as far as being a miner is concern. But still consider the operational cost . If electricity is cheap at your location then go for it otherwise it is really hard to attain ROI.

I think i live in one of the expensive electricity city in the world and still my ROI is less than year that doesn't sound bad to me because there is no business to give ROI in 1 year or less (Not Talking about ICO or holding Coins) any type of business. Yea, depending on where you live, it ROI can be had for less than a year. Some people want a faster ROI though.
Dude, ROI in less than a year is not guaranteed. U dont understand that difficulty increases as time passes by and new stronger machines may come out later to make yours obsolete. That is the bet. That is why ROI needs to be short. Difficulty does not remain the same throughout. It increases faster than bitcoin price.
