Anybody else get 330+ emails about coupons from Bitmain just last night?
Yup, fortunately it stopped now.
Too bad it wasn't 330 coupons.

I had to put a rule in my email to trash all emails from Bitmain.

they lowered the price to 2000usd for an s9 including psu
but still not worth it. roi is about one year unless you have very cheap or free electricity and not counting the diff increase.

Yep, interestingly enough they're also starting to offer bundles with PSUs again too, likely to lure people to buy in along with the coupons. Only the A3 seems to have sold out so far, seems like everyone is aware of the ROI situation.

The s9's are priced too high.

Maybe the L3's would be good to get.

If you have cheap power maybe the T9's

and if they send one of those 450 usd coupons  and  you get the T9 for 1250 - 450 = 800 + 100 to ship

that is  900 usd for 10.5th  pretty cheap if you have low power cost.

With the solar array  and the sell off I did  both the L3 and the T9   look fairly attractive.

Agreed that L3+ ROI is better but block reward halving is late next year for litecoin and it is on 28nm chip.
S7 was on 28nm and S9 is on 14nm. S9 is almost 3 times as efficient yes? So, if a stronger L3+ comes out, should be the same efficiency increase I think.
At least the S9 is somewhat tried and tested since ebit 10nm machine isnt that much stronger either.
Cheaper asic isnt the key. What we need is a new coin to mine or lower difficulty. Cheaper asic would mean older miners will never ROI due to increased difficulty.

Cheaper machines would mean the machine gets cheaper and cheaper as time passes, meaning older and older customers just lose out. It will be like the D3 where the first batch was 5k, 2nd batch was lesser at 2.6k I think and final batch at 1.4k. I dont think anyone broke even LOL. Cheaper asics on S9 would be the same and I hope that doesnt occur...because difficulty increase will make every new batch of miners unprofitable and it is possible even the latest batch isnt profitable...because that is the case for alot of us D3 owners with the 1.4k batch now.

I hope bitmain comes up with a good new coin to mine. Perhaps a platform type coin like ethereum/neo? I am sure bitmain is capable of pulling it off.

Agreed - and the L3 usually have decent resale value since it's a little more reasonable for at home mining compared to the S9(no need to install a 220 line).

I was given 3 $200 dollar coupons .

I purchased 1 L3+ about ten minutes ago.

I will wait a bit  before I decide  if I will order another L3+  or a T9

I just got notified that my 4 L3 from January have shipped.

Ordered 3 more with my $200 coupons from S9s...waiting to see what comes out next before I use any more.  Not sure what to do with the $100 ones

Bitcoin FTW!
Why it is 13 Th batch? Every new batch will come with lower hashrate and efficiency?
Probably some miners with chips that aren't up-to-spec that they're selling or just plain underperform; seems like they're trying to sell every Antminer they have right now. Most people seriously considering buying one of their miners right now have near-free electricity, though, so in such a scenario it wouldn't have a huge impact power-wise.

I think anyone buying these right now are catching knives. Bitmain has a 10nm miner coming. They are liquidating their old stock, I'm pretty sure its not only me who knows this. But since no one wants to say it. I will, please don't ask for proof or anything, I could be talking out my ass, but honestly, you guys already know.

It is all about your power cost.

I can handle a few s-9's or t-9's  based on the idea of buy and hold.

Also if I was to get  a 200 dollar coupon for the t-9  it would be about 100 usd a th that is decent as I have 'free' power in the solar array.

Check your Bitmain account, sent you a few $200 off coupons  Smiley

EDIT: BTW did anyone get shipping notification for their S9 March 1-10 batch?

Yup mine arrived on Thursday.

Can you apply all of the coupons to a single order?

Haven't tried but their email states you can't.

Why do they give out so many then? They want people to split their orders up into a million smaller ones?

”More than one Coupon cannot be used for the purchase of one miner.” You can use as many coupons as you have miners in your order.

Without lower than 0.05USD/KW power I don't think its worth it to be mining BTC at this point. We had the bull run last year, reaped the rewards of stagnation for the past 2 years. So lets say we do follow a hyperbolic path towards the moon, we'd still need another 3-6 months before this stagnation period is over. Unfortunately, I truly believe this will cause even more miner centralization in BTC, at least geographically.

they prefer you give them out to new people more then anything else.

I now have more then enough 100 dollar ones.  I think  I could use 1 or 2 more 200 dollar ones.
