What's up with the website?  On live stats, difficulty keeps going to 1 and CDF to 99.99%.  It did this a little while ago and then corrected but now it is doing it again.

Quick question. Is there a fee for every withdrawal of coins or is there a threshold when it becomes free to withdraw?

There are two ways to move coins out of your Bitminter account:

You can use auto cash out, under "my account" -> "overview" in the website menu. This will cash out every time your balance goes over the threshold and is free to use. Bitminter pays the transaction fees for you.

Or you can use "my account" -> "send coins" in the menu. There is a small fee, but the minimum amount is lower than the minimum amount required for the auto cash out threshold, so you can send tiny amounts this way. It's also a one-time thing and allows sending a specific amount instead of all the coins you have.

well my question is why not store all shifts? Meaning pay that one  25 BTC divided by ALL the work done, not just by a select group of people who happened to mined during x amount of time.

Is it the lack of server/storage space?

Thats a proportional reward method, one of the first reward methods used. However it's not used any more as it is proven to be exploitable.

When a block is found the last 10 shifts get paid. Sometimes we find
blocks quickly and a shift gets paid many times. Sometimes it takes a
long time to find a block and some shifts don't get paid at all.

This evens out over time.

If you mine 24/7 you won't notice it. Having 1% of the hashrate gets you
1% of the mined coins. Which shifts you got paid through doesn't really
matter. If you get paid 0.1 BTC for work you did in the morning and 0
BTC for your work in the evening, that is essentially the same as
getting 0.05 BTC for the morning and 0.05 BTC for the evening. The end
result is the same, you got 0.1 BTC.

If you are a part time miner you will notice some variance. If you mine
one hour per day, you could get very lucky or very unlucky with the
payout. In the future I hope to increase the size of the shifts to even
this out more for part time miners. For now the shifts need to be short
so it doesn't take too long from you do some work until it is fully
paid. We can change this if we are able to increase our percentage of
the global hashrate in the future.

Nope. Everyone that mined got paid for the last 12 blocks. Shifts? Yes, nobody got paid for the last 12 shifts. Miners only get paid if the pool finds a block within the ~45 hr. pplns time frame. Chalk it up to bad luck.

I think 2 MB blocks are needed. I think Gavin Andresen and Jeff Garzik sounds like a dream team. I think Bitcoin Core has problems making decisions about anything.

We could get banned from Bitcointalk for even talking about this. There could be some serious DDoS attacks if we support Bitcoin Classic. Some people think that if it isn't Core then it isn't Bitcoin. They will call you an altcoin supporter and enemy of bitcoin, and they will do what they can to stop you.

On the other hand.. Bitcoin Classic appears to have support from over 50% of the hashrate and plenty of bitcoin services. Maybe it can succeed?

XT also appeared to have a lot of support, but not many of those who supported it actually created XT compatible blocks (eg KNC Miner). I'm not sure public support is a good a measure as eg making a coinbase statement to that effect.

It would be good way to get some feed-back from block makers about what they support, and I like this proposal regarding codifying coinbase voting: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/miners-support-for-hardfork-in-coinbase-1335691

Hey Doc! What's your opinion of the fork issue? are you planning on keeping the pool on bitcoin core or do support the Classic proposal (or something else). I'm very happy with this pool BTW (and I'm for remaining on Core).

Third option: Side with the winner after the results are in.

This is a suggestion, not an attempt at hijack.

Vircurex isn't on the list. Did you mean a different one?

You know I think my brain must have created it from virwox and bitcurex.  Now that I look more closely I see that it isn't there.

AOL login worked the second time.

Camp BX held my bitcoin hostage for months like a year ago.  I had transferred one over to sell back when BTC had hit $1000 and it never hit my account on their exchange.  Months of ignored support tickets and lots of complaining on their facebook later and I got it back but the value had dropped to something like $600 by then.  That was the last time I ever dealt with them but I have since seen plenty of other complaints in the service discussion section describing the same kind of thing.

AOL liveID login is failing.  Just FYI.  I'm sure you'll get it sorted.

Also Doc you may want to clean up the list of exchanges on the website.  Camp BX is incompetent if they even exist any more, vicurex was hacked and lost a bunch of user funds and do they even exist anymore, and cryptsy is now claiming to have been hacked and lost everything too and how long are they going to exist?

AOL login appears to be working. If you are experiencing problems try running your browser without plugins or using a different browser. Sometimes browser plugins can break the login.

Thanks, I will have a look at the exchange links. Indeed it looks like some changes are needed.

What is the problem with Camp BX? Except for low activity?
