I paid more than 10x that in 6 months, most during the hot phase, when everybody likes to shop, since they spent less btc.

Items flashing here available at btctrinkets.com
Doing my part to help potential buyers evaluate the site, because I'd really like it to remain online:

how much do you think the site is worth???

Hard to say. 50k USD?

More liek 2k USD.

Come on, no-one really used that site, exposure was so low, that when news about closing bitmit went live - this thread could not stay in a 1st page more than for 3 minutes.
Sounds like you're looking to buy. Tongue

$50K is pretty reasonable, I think, maybe even low. Steamgames alone probably brings in a solid $100/wk revenue, GBTC another solid chunk. It also holds the distinction of not having been the target of a devastating hack while having a relatively good GUI (which is just about impossible to find in BTC services without VC funding). It has first-mover advantage in the space, and a pretty diverse crowd of users.

There are also three or four (maybe more) threads on BitMit closing, so you can't just look at this one.

there is one (!) product in the database??? How should this be an alternative to bitmit?

Coingig.com

Many people already shifted to coingig and others are shifting. This is best time to use bitcoins.

Within one month, coingig may achieve popularity like bitmit.net.

If you need a Bitmit alternative, check out my Bitcoin auction site halfpricedigital.com

You can buy & sell for BTC or fiat using Coinbase, PayPal, or Skrill.  There's no listing fees and you can set a fixed price or sell via auction.  You can even set a reserve, so there is no risk.  Also, we don't do escrow so you don't have to worry about our wallet getting hacked or our site getting shut down for not having the proper escrow license.  Happy Bidding!  Let us know what you think!

Wonder if maybe the input.io hack got him worried since he does keep wallets on system and all.  So basically decided the risk was not worth it at least for him anymore.

If he worried about that, he could make the website automatically pay out to your own private wallets when money is recieved to it's own wallets, that way nobody risks anything. The site never holds money.

That's a very crude solution, a part of people change/destroy their wallets time to time.

I hope the current owners are actually going to base it on experienced people not just who is offering the most money. Otherwise they are potentially putting peoples money at risk. I'm hoping for a trustworthy person to buy it and be able to secure the site enough.

Shocked  What are you basing that on?  The risk and liability is huge with possible backdoors left in there.  P & L is not known.  And transfer has to go smooth with an owner who seems not interested in revealing a lot.

Pretty sure that was an inside job.  The guy who ran it isn't even going to report it to the police.  The hacker risk is still there, nevertheless.

That's a very good theory. I couldn't blame him.

a few on page 72
Not sure if that was meant for me.
But i just tried it again for the 5th time and while they usually arrive instantly, there is no sign of it.

I'm still waiting for a 10.97861 BTC withdrawal from about 5 hours ago.  The site says I've already confirmed the withdrawal via E-Mail.  *shrug*

Edit: My withdrawal came through fine in the end.
