Taking a break from coding doesn't mean stop playing! (or that I won't immediately fix any bugs found)

I thought something broke when I looked and the last deposit was 300 minutes ago....

So go play!

Well, looks like the sites running smoothly now. I will be taking a couple days off from working on it in order to work on what I was supposed to the first place: my class project. Been avoiding a programming project by programming, haha...

I think your fees calculation is off, unless I am missing something.  I am bet #2 in http://bitponzi.net/Default.aspx?page=ViewRound&round=bitPonzi_OFFICIAL , and I put in bet #4 to pay myself out.  I thought I did the math and put in enough to trigger the payment, but I ened up .004 short.

You just take out 22% in that game right?  20% goes into the jackpot, and 2% to fees, and the rest goes in the pot?

EDIT:

You are fine - I'm doing the math wrong.

Damn, that must suck! off by such a small amount... I'd help you out but I have everything in http://bitponzi.net/Default.aspx?page=ViewRound&round=DAILY_FAST and I can't. darn.
edit: If you invest in DAILY_FAST, I will help you get paid out with the profits Smiley

I put in enough to pay everyone out.  Just to test the real math.  I have the right equation now.  I'd share, but I need every edge I can get.  Ponzi has gotten hard!  Grin

Equation for what? Fees?

Say you are next to get paid, and the round is going to expire soon.  The equation is to figure exactly how much to put in to pay out your waiting bet, accounting for current pot, fee % and jackpot %.  I had it wrong at first.  That's why I was .004 short.

It's a "cut your losses" equation Smiley

Wait hold on... can I possibly be wrong:
b = bet
r = roi
p = pot
f = fee
j = jackpot
k(1-f-j)+p=br
k = (br-p)/(1-f-j)

I made some slight changes to the API, so I hope no ones actually using it yet... All it really did was rename a couple xml elements and add a few so it should be easy to adapt.

I think we should combine the hard time limit with the old kind so that you could set a 24hr cap AND a 2hr expiration, whichever comes sooner.
Also, with the fixed time limit, what if someone is a few seconds late?  It sounds like the update script might lag a little and then they could still deposit.

The same risk is there with the bitcoin network anyway, you don't know how long it'll take your deposit to reach the server, and you don't know when the update script will run. I'll think about the combined time limit, and how to store that in a single Int32...

The jackpot bounty feature is now working.

When you create a round, theres an option to add a bounty address. Everything sent to that address is added directly to the jackpot.

Awesome.. I've updated Bitcoinduit source, and included a link to the betBot.php that needs some modifications to work with bitPonzi as well as Bitcoinduit APIs. here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.518105

Anyone interested, there's a 4 Bitcoin bounty to make the required changes.

The update code only runs once every 15 seconds, a little less if the servers loaded down, so expired rounds might show up for a minute.
