I need to get in the business of copy and pasting shit coins. Lots of money there it seems.

it is not fundamental, it is a qt bug.
use the headless wallet and there isn't a bug.

but let's be honest, how many devs do you know, that "develop" a wallet?
i mean develop, really doing something in the code... not only changing pictures and numbers.
most work of todays "developer" is, which fundamental design looks fine, the standard bitcoin-one? some fancy graphically outstanding play-thingy?

or to come to your point, find the original developer of the wallet, he is the only one, that can fix your bug. most of the others can't do it. some of them even do not know what you are talking about.
this is reality.
i know, you are standing here and you want to change something, don't stop trying it, sometimes one man can achieve something.

easy risk calculation.
i don't have enough coins to stake like hell and change my amount significantly.
i have experience with many staking wallets where i can compare the behavior.
i ignore weight and netweight everytime, because it is a theortically calculated value, has nothing to do with real measurement. look at the block explorer the get some real data and you will see it.

and well, DAO isn't an easy thing. it is a philosophical topic, bug or not.

1. here it is a bug. yes, possibly there are many more. how big is the chance, you will have a loss, because of a buggy wallet?
2. how big is the chance that the dev will run away?
3. how big is the chance, that there will be dump and the price won't recover?

my calc says: 2 and 3 are risks, 1 is not.

I fundamentally don't agree on allowing any bugs, especially after they were discovered and not addressed (you all say many wallets have similar bugs and there's nobody willing to fix them). Why is that? Because you say you're not interested to force devs for higher quality work, by allowing minor defects that finally lead to shit wallets. I'm pretty sure this dev will not resolve this minor bug (and potentially more major ones that I'm sure exist in the wallet), because apparently I'm the only one who thinks it's wrong, and all the rest just doesn't care. Some of you wonder why they're not staking for long time with ex. 200 k coins - well, you'll never know because you have no reliable information provided within the wallet, and you're just not able to check what's going on. Generally, your approach leads to lazy devs not interested in quality code. Testing, trubleshooting, resolving bugs should always be higher priority, than new fancy features, updates, upgrades, new versions, etc.

This coin took a healthy dump, warm shit slowly unraveled onto everyone's faces. Hope no one lost more than what they could handle. I'm buying bulk coins at 5 sat a peice Cheesy. Can't get much better than this right now.

yes it can, the block time depends on the difficulty and statistic, pure statistic.
there is no rule that helps you, if one wallet hits 10 blocks in 10 seconds, because of luck.

and i saw many wallets with the same bug, no worries here, if this is your only problem, then i would think, everything is safe.

Agreed. This appears to be a small bug which affects the majority of POS wallets I have used.
Given how new this project is, how common this bug is in other wallets, and how it does not affect actual staking, I am not at all concerned about this at all.
FYI. with 200k coins in my wallet I might get anywhere from 10-20 blocks in 24 hours.

Any chance we can have a way to lease coins for staking? I'd rather run the staking on a VPS but not keep any coins on it for security, but lease the coins from a different address.

So with 30,000 coins  I will never stake anything?  It's been 3 days now, still nothing.

I am pleased with staking. 8 blocks today with 200k in the wallet, not bad.

There is nothing wrong with the Staking structure no need to make it an issue. If you want to stake often, you need to
get more coins and that is the only solution. thank you.

You should not accept such non-sense so easily.
Then the devs release the DAO piece of shit because nobody cares about quality ... seriously...

Waited for my coins to mature and had my wallet open for 15+ hours.  Last night it said 10 minutes until i get the reward.  About 6 hours have gone buy and now it say 5 minutes till reward.  Is this normal?
maybe you need to try to restart your wallet close and open it back it will do some stake and you will received your rewards.
Not sure if this piece of information is of any value but what does this mean.  Your weight: 8,336,913
Network weight: 22,507,683 .  My weight as been steadily increasing over time do I need to wait for it to reach the full network weight to get my reward?
What is your total coins in your wallet? You will stake for sure but it will take sometime if you have very low coins in your wallet.
Your weight can go beyond the Network weight but that doesn't mean you will state on estimated time.  the staking depends on the number
of coins you have against other users on the network.

I have 12 thousand coins.  I haven't restarted the wallet just yet because I don't want to lose my progress but its now saying 4 minutes until reward after 3 hours have gone by.

Mine is doing the same thing.  For hours it will count down to 2 minutes..still nothing.  I have around 30000 coins.  Any ideas?  I closed and restarted wallet.  No luck.  I had my wallet open for 48 hours..
Your coins are too low and you just need to leave your wallet open. Do not close or restart because it wont change anything. I have 15k and since my wallet is open
from the beginning, i now stake like twice in 48hrs and sometime when im lucky, i stake in 24hrs. I cant stake continually like someone who has more than 100k.

This seems to be a bug or something, and actually I already reported it once some time ago, but dev wasn't interested.
Now, look at this image, and let me know if this has anything to do with reality?

Not sure if staking icon reports correct numbers.
It shows my weight is higher than spendable balance. Why...?

Edit: it also reports my weight is higher than network weight Smiley

That one was even better - my weight was higher than network weight (and spendable balance) Smiley

your maximum weight depends on the code and normally is far higher than spendable coins. here it is unlimited. so your weight grows as long, as your coins don't hit a block.
so nothing wrong there.

of course, it is a bug, that your weight is bigger, than the network weight.

but trust me, this is pure statistic. you will never hit blocks in the time, that is mentioned there.

for example, i have a wallet that says, i hit a block every 6 minutes. block time is one minute and i hit every second block.

Well, I've seen many staking wallets (4 of them are constantly staking for me), and none of those wallets was showing such non-sense.
Obviously, staking information cannot give anything more than just an approximation, but it  should at least stick to the reality.
Ex: if block time is 60 seconds for instance, then reward time can't be constantly less than 60 seconds right? If network weight is 1000 then a user weight can't be higher.
