When I ask for the exchange rates the answer was:

The exchange rate can be seen in your Bitwala account after successful verification.

Thanks for your understanding.

Kind regards,
André

Does it  means that I cant get any info for the prices of your services before become a client? (I can't make verification if I dont have internatioanal passport because I'm Bulgarian) If you are so "transparent" with 1 % fee Why don't publish link for the actual BTC price like normal exchange?

Hi Kmetax, you are right. Currently, we do not display our rates on the Bitwala homepage. The price for 1 BTC is clearly shown in your dashboard. For your info, our KYC partner does accept Bulgarian passports, therefore you would actually be able to sign up. Just in case you experience any issues during the process, feel free to get back to our support. They are happy to help.

Who is the card issuer? Do you still continue to accept the card orders for new customers? Withdrawal fees? Which countries are eligible for opening the bank account?

You need to be a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland. The fees are almost non-existent at Bitwala. It's even cheaper than a traditional bank. I have a bank account for example where I pay about $7 a month while at Bitwala it is free, even SEPA transfers and ATM withdrawals are free (some services charge $5 per withdraw)
The only fee is to convert your BTC/€ and vice versa.

The Bitwala card is a debit card by Mastercard issued by our banking partner. There are no fees for cash withdrawals at any Mastercard-accepting ATM. Currently, any EEA and Swiss resident can open a Bitwala account. Feel free to order your very own Bitwala Card today and have it shipped latest by the end of next week.

Hi there,

thanks for reaching out. Your card is linked directly to your Bitwala bank account. In order to use the card to spend online and offline or to cash out at any ATM that accepts Mastercard, you will need to have funds in EUR.

In the future, the automatic swap and will be added to link the Bitwala card with a cryptocurrency wallet.

Hello,

when I have BTCs on my Wallet with Bitwala and I want to pay in a store with its plastic card. Do I have to trade BTCs for EURs in advance or will it swap automatically for me, the needed amount?

Thanks for an answer!

Impossible to do a verification. These guys needs a printed document of proof of address so if you dont have printer, you cant open account. Screw this, 21st century, i need to print stuff.

This is annoying, trully annoying. Is there another way to get verified without printing stuff?

I know everything is digitalized now but don't you have a bill printed, Electricity or something else?  One thing you could try is to go to your house insurance company or bank and ask for a statement. They give it to you immediately, then you can maybe use it

I basically have to go to the print shop and pay 10 cents to print a bill. This is way too much effort for a bank account. I dont even know why i need it? Would never buy or sell BTC via them as its too expensive and 1% fee is enormously high.

Also, they dont say a word about other currencies like USD and what are the exchange rates when paid with a card. How does Bitwala compare in terms of multi currency spendings againts other card providers.

The effort needed from me outweights the benefits (none) i would get by opening Bitwala account. So i guess I will wait until they improve.

This is beyond stupid, i showed my proof of address on my pc screen, but thats not good enough, must print and show them. Why? What a hell is this bullshit?

Hi there, we got your point and will be ready for you as soon as you have decided to open your Bitwala account.

Compared to other fiat to crypto (or vice versa) gateways, we offer a pretty low pricing.

Besides, there are no hidden fees in our set-up.

Finally, Bitwala did it.

I am planning to make my Bitwala account one of my main bank accounts since there is the DGS guarantee. However, I have just 2 questions.
- Recurring payments are operational?
- The DGS doesn't cover the cryptos right?

And the third
I can't open 2 accounts (1 personal + 1 business) right? Any plan in the future for businesses accounts

Hi LeGaulois, great to hear that. Feel free to keep us posted on the process and whether you've been successful.

In the current setup, you can create an individual standing order and define the start and end date as well as the frequency (monthly, quarterly, etc.).

And you are right about the DGS. For now, you as the owner of the cryptocurrency stored inside your wallet are in charge of their safety.

This might change in the future, as well as the option to create a business account.

Stay tuned for future updates!
