Looking forward to it. This is one aspect which is really missing in the crypto world. Everything is decentralized, except for the banking part. Be your own bank!

Hi malschauen,

I have been made full in the meantime...  Smiley

As for your issue: Have a try of contacting them on Telegram, maybe that helps. In my the same lady from support ("Alis") confirmed the refund in the end but also a "Mahmoud H" on telegram was particularly helpful and listened to my case.

Thanks! Would use Bitwala again in the future!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~BREAKING NEWS~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just got notice - Will get the right refund! Yeah!
Hi Polivka,
Happy to hear the issue was solved to your satisfaction.
Best regards,
Robert @Bitwala
Have a similar issue, maybe you can help me somehow, as support doenst read my emails and only send standardized answers which doenst answer my message.
I actually have problems with 2 transactions:
1. Transaction ID: pt83B35D5ozsY5xnz, made on 19.12.17 for 1527.78.
They were confirmed on time within the blockchain but on pending status on the bitwala site.
I told support, who told me that I will receive back 1527.78 Euro in Bitcoin depending on the current Bitcoin rate.
On 13.02.18 I received back +0.13195543 BTC, which were equal to about 980 Euro on this day.
This actually means that I received about 550 Euro less than I send to you. After telling support about this multiple times, support doenst seem to care or to give me any calculation why they would assume 0.1319 BTC on 13.02.18 to be worth nearly 1550 Euro.
Quote from: bitwalaemailsupport
Good afternoon,
Transaction ID: pt83B35D5ozsY5xnz
Initially, you paid for the invoice: 0.099646BTC which at the moment was worth: €1535.42.
We have refunded to you the equivalent of the EUR amount which is worth now 0.13247853 BTC.
Alis (Bitwala)
20. Feb., 09:41 CET
Good morning,
Transaction ID: pt83B35D5ozsY5xnz
"But 0.1324xx BTC is not nearly to 1500 Euro, instead of on the day you transferred it back to me, it was worth around 980 Euro and today it is worth around 1190 Euro."
-We have written to you in the conversation that our refunds are performed following the current EUR/BTC exchange rate at the time of refund. We use the EUR amount to refund your BTC transaction and this can lead to users receiving more or less BTC, but the same equivalent in EUR. Therefore today is worth 1190 Euro and we are not responsible for the BTC volatility and we can't control its price.
Again, I reiceived not the equivalent amount in EURO but more than 30% or about 550 Euro less.
Second Transaction: Transaction ID: hafoLituDCshGqFAg
For 1380.11 Euro on 21.12.2018, the same problem like with the other transaction, got confirmed on time on the Blockchain.
But when asking for a refund, Bitwala staetes for not having received any bitcoin, even when I send them the link to the Blockchain:
Quote from: bitwalaemailsupport
It seems that this transaction didn't confirm on the blockchain so it was discarded by the bitcoin network, meaning we are unable to proceed with a refund. The funds should return to your wallet within 30 days. If they have not returned within 30 days, then they should contact the wallet provider.
After I received this message multiple times as answer to my blockchain link, I actually today received the answer that this will be forwarded:
Quote from: bitwalaemailsupport
-Regarding the transaction hafoLituDCshGqFAg we have opened a 2nd investigation with BitPay and we will write to you as soon as we receive an answer from them.
All in all I had cashed in btc worth about 6000 euro to my bitwala card. After the card programm shut down, I received back only 980 Euro in btc till the current moment.
Reason:
1 Transaction for 1500 euro was paid back with 980 euro about a week ago after more than a month
Another transaction for nearly 1500 euro was denied by bitwala even if i gave them the blockchain link
3000 Euro which were confirmed on my card couldnt be returned as they were the other 2 transactions pending. Now the support deleted the 2 transactions pending but I did not receive any answer from the mychoicesupport anymore as well as the bitwala support seems like they are playing a slow game trying to not have to send all the money back, sorry for the assumption but denying actuall bitcoin rates as well as blockchain confirmations is not very serious for me.
So acutally I just want to get the money back I sent to you about 2 month ago.
Hi Polivka,
Thank you for getting in touch. I'm happy to help you but I'm not quite sure what the problem is. Could you explain if the issue is that you didn't receive your refund in EUR, or if you are unhappy with the current EUR to BTC exchange rate?
Best regards,
Robert @Bitwala
The Problem is:
1) I made a SEPA transfer
2) Everything went fine, I got confirmation via BIP70 payment protocol - transaction went into a block 18 minutes later
3) Something went wrong on Bitpay/Bitwala side, my payment never got credited
4) They hold my Bitcoin ransom for over a month while I had to watch the price decline and had no chance to sell it
5) Support finally reacted, assured me twice that my refund will be based on the EUR value of that time
6) They just sent the BTC amount back (not the EUR equivalent)
When did we start calling Bitcoin as "Bitcoin Core" ?
Hi mishax1,
Thank you for sharing your find. Sadly we can't change the choice of words because this is directly from our partner SIMPLEX.
I hope you don't find it too irritating and yes you can paste any Bitcoin wallet address into it.
...
 WTF is Bitcoin core ?
...
Is this a serious question  Grin ?
Bitcoin Core is the reference implementation of Bitcoin and the most
used Bitcoin client as well as the software that you need if you want to run
a full node.
I assume that you can simply enter a regular Bitcoin address from any
client (aside from the new bech32 address format).
When did we start calling Bitcoin as "Bitcoin Core" ?
I don't understand your exact problem....
But you might want to check your spam folder (for the email addy that you regged your bitwala account with) for bitpay emails, you should find the refund instructions there.
I received both the email for the refund AND the refund last week, and I know many other customers have as well.
This problem is isolated from the other refunds, and yes - I also received them.
The problem described above is that I have gotten the wrong exchange rate for a refund.
That's a BitPay issue then, not a Bitwala issue.
Please be aware that BitPay uses the exchange rate at the moment they initiate the refund AND they take a substantial transaction fee, so if the payment in question was reasonably "small", that might be the reason for not receving the "correct" amount of bitcoins....
Bitpay being a supplier of choice of Bitwala makes it Bitwalas issue to clarify that. As you can see the transaction made it into a block 18 minutes later - and the payment was not small; at least by my measures Wink
How do you deal with the fact that they deleted the records of the refunded transactions in your company accounting?
I don't, it's not "my company".
I still don't understand where the problem was/is, but I am sure whatever the problem is they're not doing whatever you think they're doing on purpose.
Maybe you can outline the problem in single three-word sentences from the beginning and not have me guess half the story.
Hello All,
 I hate to carry this into the public, but I have a problem with a payment I made and your support isn't really understanding (support ID 228180).
The story in short: I did a SEPA transfer with a payment protocol enabled wallet (electrum) - got a signed invoice from bitpay:
Got confirmation via payment protocol immediately:
Their website changed immediately indicating that they also received the broadcasted transaction:
transaction was broadcasted on time (in fact 3 minutes after the invoice was issued), blockchain explorers show this:
I immediately contacted support and it has been confirmed TWICE to me that the refund will be based on the EUR amount of that invoice (since the bank closed down Bitwalas account anyhow only a BTC refund was/is technically possible):
and
All I want here is that they keep fair and honour the refund. This is going on for nearly two month now and besides the support always being nice nothing happened.
Thanks for your attention!
