Alert if we want a transaction with Bitcoin, some time ago I had a problem with a PC, when I copied the Bitcoin address and then pasted the Bitcoin address changed, I thought this was normal but after almost 3 hours I checked into the receiver wallet and never arrived so I lost more than $ 2000. The best thing is to make sure the manual check with the details of each shipping transaction and make sure the address is correct.

I think he has some Mallware infection on his computer that are trying to hack/override his clipboard ...seeing that it happens in all the browsers that he is using. Why would it try to stop him from inserting his own Bitcoin address? It might be trying to insert another bitcoin address, before you do it ...but it has problems doing that and that is why you are having erratic behavior.  Roll Eyes

I had something similar with Freebitco.in a while ago... my AV reported that it loads a "virus" like script... but when I ask other people ..they say there is no problem. ( I did a full re-do of the OS and I re-installed the AV and it was gone)  Wink

While you warn others not to use Blockchain wallet, you also have a change to avoid it and use a much better software wallet like electrum. Most members have already suggested and shown you how you can import the private keys to another wallet software.

Web wallet are not safe as they are prone to phishing attacks.
He would definitely do it because he already secure his keys and he can follow your advice to continue into a new wallet where he thinks safer than blockchain but there will be people that wont easily believe on his claim and would stick on using blockchain wallet because they have not experienced this problem and on top of that its also known that blockchain is one of the oldest and secure wallet that some sites and people recommends.

On the other hand there are also good alternatives and one of it is already given above. I have use electrum and I have no problems with it on the past. Nothing wrong in webwallets as long as you check the url always and do bookmarking.

Just wanted to give a quick update about this, because I see other people in this forum having problems with blockchain: I saved all my private keys in all my blockchain wallets, after having the initial issue which I described in this thread. So after all I'm not worried anymore about losing any coins, BUT I really need to tell everybody, to stay away from blockchain.com/info
This website has definitely a very strange behaviour. After working months without problems, now the "Send" Buttons on the main page of all my wallets which have quite a good amount inside have disappeared. So currently I'm not able to send any BTC from the website anymore. This happens with different IPs, Browsers and even with different wallets. It seems not to be a general bug, because I couldn't find anyone having the same issue right now. Call me paranoid, but I'm quite sure blockchain is trying to avoid "some users sometimes" to send their coins....

Best Regards
I also got issue with ''Send'' button in recent days. It's gone. I thought it may be because my Blockchain.cm account isn't verified and they restricted me from sending BTC. I filed data like full name and address to get Silver limits (offcourse I din't used real name and address), but nothing has changed. Next  step would be to make full KYC to get Gold limits, but no way that I would do it.
So, I simply imported my private keys from Blockchain.com to Electrum wallet and I'm not going to Blockchain.com in future. Obviously, it wasn't my main wallet, I had not significant amount of BTC there for little daily spending when I'm lazy to connect hardware wallet. So, this issue isn't big deal for me and it's good reason to stop using web wallets, even as secondary wallet.

Or instead of individual private keys, just save your "Backup Phrase", that alone can restore all of your prvKeys, including the new ones that you haven't generated yet.
You can get it from the 'Security' settings: "Secret Private Key Recovery Phrase".

Take note that it doesn't backup your Trading account.

I believe it's a long time problem in blockchain.com. From time to time there would be complaint threads about its interface. To make things worse, wallet developments are as slow as it can be, at this point I'm not expecting for a fix.

Few examples:

Can't SEND BTC FROM BLOCKCHAIN!!!!
Blockchain.info Send button not working
blockchain.com - options not available
Couple of Blockchain.info issues/questions

Move to a better wallet OP.

I stopped using it ...because it was too buggy with the 2FA and some other things. I remember when we still used the Blockchain.info back in the day and people were saying that the number generator was faulty or too predictable. https://tradeblock.com/blog/javascript-random-number-flaw-leads-to-bitcoin-thefts/

It is safe to shift over to something like Electrum, if you are having issues with Blockchain.com ...just make sure you use the latest version of Electrum.  Wink  (previous versions also had some flaws that left vulnerabilities that can be exploited)  Roll Eyes
I have only used Blockchain.com wallet when i was a noob but when times that i do find out and realize on how shitty and buggy it is then i did really transferred on using Electrum
which is more better and i do really love the simplicity but yet more secure that BC.

Just to give out the link on that suggestion above about electrum wallet: https://electrum.org/#home
Latest release: Electrum-4.1.5

So hopefully this is interesting for a lot of other users having issues with Blockchain.com:
Never believe the numbers and amounts blockchain is showing you in the Settings/Wallets/Adresses sections, for me there are a lot of false amounts.
Glad that it worked out at the end.
About your note, Settings isn't really the best part to check your wallet's balance.

For the former missing balance, there's a button in that same setting page to toggle from "Legacy" to "SegWit" addresses.
It could also be in your change address which I believe won't be displayed in blockchain's "Wallets & Addresses" setting.

Of course I have my 12 word recovery phrase saved already years ago, I think my wallet is build before 2016
Then it's probably 17 words instead of 12. I'm not sure about the exact steps on Wasabi but I'd suggest doing the following things to import it on "Electrum":

  • Go to your Blockchain.com wallet > Settings > Wallets & Addresses
  • Your address should show under "Imported Bitcoin Addresses" > Click "Manage" > Private Key > Continue > Copy the private key with "WIF" format
  • Open Electrum > Create New Wallet > Name it then click next > Import Bitcoin addresses or private keys > Paste the private key with "WIF" format > Choose a password > Wait for it to sync > Done.

The more I look into this, the stranger it get's.

I have a 12 words backup recovery phrase in my notes, that's the only thing I can definitley say. Your mentioned way to get the WIF Format Key is not working, since my blockchain.com settings look totaly different. When I go to "Settings>Wallet & Adresses", I can see a headline "Imported Bitcoin Adresses" on the lowest point of the site, but no more information, but just a button with "Verify message", which enables me to add a adress, but nothing more. See screenshot here:

https://i.ibb.co/VHvpzXW/blockchain1.jpg

On the upper site of the "Wallet & Adresses" page I can click "manage" on my main wallet of my blockchain.com account, I have several coins shared on different adress within my main wallet there. Now comes the strange thing: On my main wallet it shows me my overall amount of BTC, which is shown everywhere in my account and Is correct imo, I have the possiblitly to click on "manage" there to see all the adresses assigned to the wallet including the amount of BTC on these mentioned adresses. There is 1 Segwit adress with 0 BTC, and a lot of Legacy Adresses with different smaller amounts. When I count up all the amounts shown of the single addresses, there's a big amount missing and it's nowhere near the whole amount which is showing on the site before, for my main wallet. very very strange! Since I can't convert my 12 word seed phrase to WIF, I wasn't able yet to recover the wallet in Electrum.  See screenshot here:

https://i.ibb.co/RjcK81y/blockchain2.png

Also very strange in the screenshot above, the "new adress" which is shown, was already used a lot of times, so this is a false mark.

I hope my "little artwork" is understandable  Grin

I found out another interesting thing: when I'm browsing in the settings page, I can still click the buttons for sending, the window which opens after is not having the buggy behaviour and let's me send BTC without any issues. So I think the quickest and easiest way for me is, to just cashout the whole wallet with this way...

Thanks to all others for replying, I won't bore you guys and anwser to any specific question, even though your help is much appreciated. I'm pretty sure this problem depends on a DNS/Routing issue, or maybe just a very sneaky way to avoid users holding big amounts, to move them around easily(but maybe this is just paranoid from my side, I experienced a lot of weird shit with BTC and companies like that already...)

Edit: Quick Update! I just successfully recovered my wallet in electrum, I just needed to take another way. I created a new wallet(instead of choosing "Import Bitcoin addresses or private keys") and used my 12 words phrase. In a further step I chose Legacy Wallet, now I see nearly the amount I see in blockchain, there is 0.05 BTC missing, which is maybe on the Segwit Adress? I really don't know, it's still very strange and Blockchain seems just so buggy! Maybe blockchain is showing me a false amount for months, it's hard for me to trace this correctly.

Edit 2:(sorry for all the edits) I created a second wallet in Electrum with the same phrase and chose "Segwit", now I see also the missing amount of my coins. After counting it up, I see the overall correct shown amount which I can also see at Blockchain.com.

So hopefully this is interesting for a lot of other users having issues with Blockchain.com:
Never believe the numbers and amounts blockchain is showing you in the Settings/Wallets/Adresses sections, for me there are a lot of false amounts.

Block halving is coming.
I just want to add this from the above posts.

If you generated the wallet with 12 words seed it means it's an HD wallet.

Take note, if your wallet from your blockchain wallet is legacy you can't able to import the seed phrase to the wasabi wallet. Or even you can able to import it won't generate a legacy wallet they don't generate any non-segwit addresses you can read it from their docs below

So your only last hope is to try to import the 12 words phrase into Electrum as suggested above or follow the SFR10 suggestion.

Unfortunately it's not possible to stop the browser from refreshing manually, because it's not a visible clear website refresh show in the browser title...
Have you tried using other devices or PC when you were login your account?  I suspected that it could be your device use and next is your internet connection.  To be honest, this is a rare issue and in fact, I just now heard about this, it's totally buggy site that's why I hate using web wallet.

there's no reason you to stay on that wallet, find a better wallet and follow what they said above.  Import your wallet into Electrum or any open-source wallet that supports BIP39 and it could compatible to import your seed phrase.

As mentioned in my first post, I tried several configurations, different browser setups etc, none of them working unfortunately, even not on other blockchain.com wallets/accounts. I still can't explain why this happend suddenly, because I didn't experienced any problems with blockchain the last months and I'm nearly using it on the daily. Tbh I would never to anything with BTC on my smartphone, I think this stuff should never be mixed up, but this is just my opinion.
Could be an internet-related issue rather than browser since you've tried different browsers, and PCs?
If it's only happening on one of your three accounts, then it's a different scenario.

I'm positive that the "red error" on the right side should be the current BTC price next to the BTC balance.
Since it's 404, then there must be some important sources of the webpage that wasn't loaded.

Maybe it's an ISP issue or DNS issue since you've mentioned that it once fixed itself.
You can also try flushing your DNS cache or setting a different DNS server like Google's or Cloudflare's.

BTW, I second the suggestion to import your backup phrase to Electrum. That should enable you to send your balance unless it's in your "Trading" or "Interest Accounts".

Seed phrases generated by blockchain.com before their upgrade to BIP39 hierarchical deterministic Wallet contained 16-17 words.
If you have exactly 12 words, your seed phrase is probably BIP39 and it should be possible to import your wallet into any wallet supporting BIP39 seed phrases.

I have 3 wallets with blockchain.com overall, and all 3 wallets have the same problem, doesn't matter if I login with or without VPN, Browser, System etc....
it's looking like a browser problem to me than blockchain.com themselves.
Error seems pertaining to an important source that wasn't loaded or have failed to load.

Try to clear your browser's cache, restart it (or the PC itself) and see if it solves the issue.

No?
If you're using their android app, are you experiencing the same issue using the same account?

As mentioned in my first post, I tried several configurations, different browser setups etc, none of them working unfortunately, even not on other blockchain.com wallets/accounts. The amount of BTC I hold in the dashboard keeps flashing from "grey/zero" to "the amount I accualy hold". On the right side I have a red error message:

"{"error":"Historical data not found for BTC-EUR at DATE","status":404}"
It looks like they can't access the server from which they get bitcoin exchange rates historical data, the reason why the page keeps refreshing!
Did you try accessing your account from other browser to see if the problem persists?

While sending it's a pain in the a.. to be quick enough inserting amount, adress and then click on send. Sometimes it takes me up to 10 minutes to get to click the button to send in the right second.
As a temporary work around, try stopping the browser from refreshing by clicking the Stop (x) button on the address bar. If this doesn't work, there are third party plug-ins you can use to disable web pages auto-refresh. Then you can fill in the forum then click send to broadcast your transaction.

Is blockchain.com avoiding users cashing out their btc because of the current market situation?
They can not stop you from cashing out your btc as long as you have backed up your wallets seeds. You can recover them on other apps any time you want.

Is this will work?
I never heard that the 12 words seed from blockchain when you import it to Electrum you will see your funds?

So I think this will not work so the only solution is to report this to the support and send all of his funds to the new wallet in Electrum.
It works with the later Blockchain wallet versions. I personally recovered by blockchain wallet backup from around 2017 successfully.

OP, here is a wallet recovery procedure that could help you to import your wallet to Electrum

Just use a much better wallet like Electrum and avoid Blockchain wallet. The issues with synching and showing wrong wallet balances confuses newbies, and they end up losing Bitcoins

First check the available address in your blockchain wallet using a bitcoin explorer like blockchair.com to be sure if it really has the bitcoins. If it does;

1. Export your Bitcoin address from Blockchain wallet, and Import it to Electrum. Head over to your blockchain wallet and select backup funds.

2. Copy your backup phrase, write it down and keep it in a very safe place.

3. Download Electrum from the Official site (https://electrum.org) and verify the GPG signatures depending on your Operating System before installing it just to be sure you installed the right wallet.

4. Once you have installed it, Open Electrum, Select New and then enter your desired account name and click next to create.

5. Select Standard wallet and among the options select "I already have a seed"

6. Enter your 12 word seed and under the seed options button check BIP39 and click on next.

7.  I believe your script type on blockchain wallet was legacy as the default, so you select Legacy (p2pkh) and the derivation Path stays as m/44'/0'/0'

8. Enter your desired wallet password, click next to create the wallet. You should be able to see your bitcoins and spend them. If are not able to see your bitcoins, check the addresses in the wallet to see if one of them was your default address in the blockchain wallet.

Please keep us updated if you are successful or not

Yes, it works.
The seed phrase provided by blockchain.com is BIP39 and can be imported into electrum.
Blockchain.com use the path m/44'/0'/0' for generating addresses.

Those who cannot import the seed phrase generated by blockchain.com into other wallets like electrum have created their wallet before the 2016 upgrade.
