Any chance they can accept pogs or chuck e cheese tokens in their next back?  Cheesy

Smiley  what is a pog?

I feel sad for you, lol

On the other hand that means you didn't lose friends over metal slammers, lol 90's kids

Growing up in the 90's was the best. Saturday morning cartoons are shit these days!  Cheesy

Mr. GreenJeans and Capt. Kangaroo were the best.

And I still have no clue what a pog is.

Anyone know if the 741 controller will work with the 821? Also would a 1500w power supply be sufficient on 110v?
For the umptheenth time here in the Forum, yes the the same controller can be used with the 721/741/821 all at the same time.
Just don't update the Firmware with them like that because Firmware updates are applied to all miners on a controller and the Firmware is miner-specific.

As long as the PSU will put out 1,500w when fed 110v sure. Check the ratings on its label...

yeah he should check what the watts on the rails list as.. in the past the other voltage rails (non 12volts) would be added to the total amount listed so you'd have a bit less than 1500W for the rails you need.

I plan to just use a pair of 1000w PSUs to power my 821. One for each board.  I have a few lying around from my jupiters.. you can go lower but I rather make sure the PSUs aren't being pushed to the max.  A pair of 850s might work too.

I just asked Blokforge if I can cancel my pre-order and what fees, if any, would be charged.  If Blokforge agrees to cancel my order without penalty, there will be one more first batch 821 available.

I think they will be. I bet around 2500. I saw another distributor is selling march batch for 2800 or so and they always charge more than what blokforge does.

I missed out on getting those 741s but was able to get a Feb 821 which is about $600 more than I wanted to pay but Blokforge is pretty legit so I don't mind too much supporting the good guys if I have to overpay... and perhaps it isn't overpaying if bitcoin goes back over the moon again

Awesome that people ended up getting some 741's finally. Can't wait to see if the March batch of 821's are a little cheaper. It'd be great if they were under 3000 with shipping.

Point is, as yer BTC stockpile and farm grows it is easy to forget the actual $ value of miners. I just take it out of the earnings pile.

Another way to look at it for new people mining would be to ask themselves do they want to put a few $1000 into buying bitcoin via Coinbase or rather buy miners to turn your fiat into bitcoin away from prying eyes.

There are a lot of factors that push the price past what a normal ROI equation would dictate.  Lots of factors

i agree with this i feel that even if im only making enough bitcoin to cover electricity and my initial investment i am okay because then i dont have to worry about sending money through coinbase to buy my bitcoin. obviously id like to make more, but im okay until im losing money by mining.

I on the other hand was amazed to see they still have stock. Wonder how many pallets they got in?

Anywho got 2x of the 821's to add to my farm and very glad to have them coming as 2 of the s9's in the farm are starting to act up... With BTC up a bit from where it was, werks fer me!
I always love your posts.

I couldn't believe how long the 741's sat there. I pointed an Internet friend towards them and he scooped up the 2 they had. Congrats on your 821's I'm looking forward to hearing from people who bought them.

Watching the last 2 links posted for forum users, it shows the difference between early, or earlier adopters and people like myself, who started in the last 9 months or so. I also think the recent drop in all coins really, helped keep those on the shelf  for you guys.

Can't wait for the march batch.

Ya there certainly is an odd - fiscal disconnect - between them. The only fiat I have spent was a total of around $8k in early 2014 to get my initial gear. After that most BTC income was plowed back into expansion/upgrade to the current >255THs. The bigger the farm the faster you recoup the BTC spent for growing. In my case the farm will pay for the 2 new miners in a bit over 3 weeks and then back to pure profits...

quick question guys! Can the 741s and 821s all daisychain together on the same controller? or will they need different controllers? i have some 741s going now, and will have some 821s on the way---was planning on just adding the 821 to the chain of 741s---but it just dawned on me they may not be able to work on the same controller---figured you guys were the right people to ask!

I very much doubt it. From my knowledge the A6 were not compatible with the A7 controller/firmware and I don't expect the A8s to be backwards compatible. That's why I have two spare Raspberry Pi Avalon controllers prepared for A8s - when they come down from their astronomical beyond mortal reach price!

I can't say for sure but I did reach out to Canaan on this when i was thinking of grabbing a few 821's

They answered that the machines ran on different Firmware. Not being super tech savy, I took that to mean grab a second controller. I know that people were able to run 721's and 741's together but that for any firmware updates, the other miners had to be off the chain while it was applied.

I don't know if anyone ran A6's with 721's; as that would be a similar concept.

If it were me I would just get one of the controller off of Blokforge, as I noticed Canaans model for a controller has gone up in price and theirs are less expensive and will do the same thing. I would send them an email first though and just say you want the controller to come loaded with the 821 firmware.
