(BOB) Networkhps: 21.30 MH/s Difficulty: 18.95414706 Block: 266195
Sooo...  StatsBOB says the last BLOCK in the chain was # 266195
...and the Explorer says the last BLOCK was # 266195
 buuuuut the POOL aslo says:

Pool Hash Rate    1.171 MH/s
Pool Efficiency    99.08%
Current Active Workers    1
Current Difficulty    18.95414706
Est. Next Difficulty    1.48804158 (Change in 1 Blocks)
Est. Avg. Time per Round (Network)    1 hour 3 minutes 41 seconds
Est. Avg. Time per Round (Pool)    19 hours 18 minutes 44 seconds
Est. Shares this Round    1,242,179 (done: 157.62%)
Next Network Block    266,196    (Current: 266,195)
Last Block Found    267,758
Time Since Last Block    35 hours 27 seconds

So: acording to the POOL the last 110 LOCKS all seem to be ORPHANS

Ah ok.

My wallet isn't syncing (no block source available) so i'm not seeing my payouts from the pool. There were quite a few since I was the only one in it for a while.

I'll leave my small miner in the pool for a while. See if it helps. I'm still finding quite a few blocks.

FUCK THE CONSPIRACY
See.. since Cryptopia delisted BOB, the hash for profit / hash and dump pools quit mining it, so its just 'the community' now, like it should be, thing is: Some of "the community" has 100MH/s and some of us has 5MH/s.. so when someone drives by with 100MH/s they find a buncha blocks and wander off to mine other shit, leaving the block chain stuck at 80MH/s until a few blocks are found.. which makes it take forever..  It HELPS ALOT if someone with 10MH/s keeps mining at all ties, but that's not really an option with "BOB".

Also: when you check hashrate stats, that's not lIVE.. its the data as it was when the last block was found and only updates after a block is found.. so just because it says the hashrate is 80MH/s, its not always because it could also be ZERO.. and in which case the block will take a loong time to turn.

Wallets that wont synch are likly synchronized..
There just hasn't been a block in the last day sometimes..

Praise "BOB"

It depends. I dont have a big hash rate in comparison to some. It took me 1 week for the 1st one & then only a few hours for the 2nd. I just missed out on one as someone 'drove by' in the pool & found it instead of me after i'd been sitting in the pool for a while.

You can see the block stats from the pool here:

Sigh: wallet won't synch.

Mine doesn't sync either. There was a way to get the list of active nodes for a network but I cant remember what it was.

My wallet has synched, and my first transactions have turned up.

The bids at 385-400 are mine. To my surprise, the balance of buys and sells on Nova is good. I can afford pennies for this project. And p2p is my major interest:

if coming weeks demonstrate that BOB is technically sound, then we have a scrypt crypto that is established, but has 75% of its mining remaining.

Could we/should we orient to 'packet' trading, of, say, lots of 1,000 BOB to begin with, then move to 10K a time? Why? It gets us out of the fiddly .0000000000000? class.

EDIT: Somehow, 'BOB' doesn't come up if you search CMC -- but it's here:

EDIT: my bad math

I've tested some CPU and GPU miner but I' obtain a lot of invalid shares so I stop mining.
I've no second or third hand asics miner to point to the pool.

I can point some hardware to the pool, but now I'm mininig cryptonote coin ... ethash and equihash. I don't know how to well mine DobbsCoin with CPU or GPU. I need some updated howto to start the scrypt algo minining, I can fine only obsolete and not working software (2014).

Morning, Luci. Can you give me more detail about the pool?

EDIT:
Found my way here: http://pool.dobbscoin.info/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool Tee hee: can't sign up until I get an address

I can mine at the HOME pool no problem..
'just don't got working hardware no more.

Romes always reports prollums with it tho..

All anyone has to do is turn a block and it'll keep goin.

Sadly with scamcoiners:
No market = no interest = no miners..
No miners = no blocks..

I know "BOB" may have been 'Voted FRAUD of the Century (1990-2000) by Time Magazine!!' (more), and has no miners.. but its NO SCAMCOIN.  Prolly holds its value more reliably than ANY altcoin.. Still the problem remains.

If anyone with a creditable history cares to takeover the coin, I'd consider it going POS so that mining wouldn't be an issue, it's just beyond my skillset. HELL, I'd consider turning over the whole project to an acceptable party if they were right with "BOB".

Hey, dobbscoin! I'm here because I've know of BOB since it was launched. (I wrote a review when it was only weeks old.) Recently, I've been looking over 'forgotten' but established POWs. None have 'click-n-go' wallets. AND DID I MENTION: none have click-n-go wallets. So, was thrilled to find that I could fire up the BOB wallet . . . but then it . . .

POS wouldn't interest me. My outfit are all POW geeks. Had the crazy notion that 'community devving' could kick BOB along, perhaps as a p2p instrument. But if the basics aren't sound . . . I'm a bit lost.

I've been mining on the home pool for a few days. My hash rate isn't huge though.

Good Morning from Italy ...

Good News:

1) The wallet now works!
2) Cryptopia wallet works .. so I withdrawed all coins to NovaExchange ... but !

Bad News:

1) https://www.novaexchange.com/ is now offline!
2) the blockchain is stucked  again no blocks since 5 hours even if the network is running up to 188Mh/s. http://explorer.dobbscoin.info

I'm logged in and trading on Nova, Luci. But my wallet is indeed not registering the two transactions I sent off Nova this morning.

Back later.

"BOB" can be quarky from time to time.  "BOB"s main issue is a lack of a smooth functioning public pool (current official public pool doesn't play nice atm) and a lack of consistent solo miners.  So right now the chain gets stuck when 1 or a few people drive up the difficulty and then remove the hash from the network.

It also seems like some nodes are ahead or behind others and sometimes a transaction can take 1 or more days to show up in everyones wallets.

"BOB" has some form of moderately disabling aurally transmitted disease but he ain't dead yet!

Morning, romeshomey Hmmm . . .

How many consistent solo miners would be needed to make BOB functional? I think my point here is that, with cryptos going mainstream as they are, this is the time at which BOB either gets some traction, or . . .
