It is so sad that newbie mindset mostly is to join bounty hunting instead of learning first here about cryptocurrency.

As I understand, receiving merit mostly needed to grow in rank (and not just a an instrument to support someone post) and forum ranks are valued mostly in bounties. So those which "mindset is only to join bounty" are the ones who care about receiving merit. Real newbie, that wants to learn cryptocurrency doesnt need merit, he doesnt even need a registered account here, he-he.

It is so sad that newbie mindset mostly is to join bounty hunting instead of learning first here about cryptocurrency. There are many helpful threads here shared by some expert users that are useful in the learning process. Besides, it is not only cryptocurrency being shared here but also to the scam and faud activities that could be process for one to learn from it and how it could be prevented or avoided.
Well, sad but true. What I think happening is that they are misdirected from their goal. Instead of using this forum as a source of knowledge to have a wonderful start of their crypto journey, they got easily blinded by the opportunity of earning made by campaigns and bounties. They're attracted too much with "fast money" that's why they tend to jump on joining despite of knowing nothing (only small to be at least).

Keep the right mindset dude, I hope you will be able to convince more newbies to do the right thing Smiley.
It is so sad that most newbies do not visit this section often when in fact this should be the section that can help them a lot. This thread along is being made for them to boost their morale and to give the first merit they can receive knowing that they are not the type of user that will directly jump into bounty hunting and spam the forum.
I agree on you somehow but I think there's nothing wrong of visiting with the other relevant threads either because that are the places where helpful knowledge lies within. When I was a newbie, my mentor told me that I should only stay on our local board. I followed him but for not a very long time, I explore the forum and I'm glad I did it. Jumping from one board to another doesn't necessarily mean that you're a spammer because everything still depends on your discipline. If you don't know what to say then refuse typing, just be a silent reader and use what you learned on the next discussion you deal with. As simple as that Smiley.

I’m also disappointed that newbies mostly think about earning and don’t bother to be informed first in this section.
Anyway, I will follow this topic further and if I see any quality application, I will be happy to help with some merit.
I hope to see at least some applications soon  Grin
Thank you for the support and well help the newbie to visit here often and boost their morale to rank up by being good in the forum. I might also change the category to give  the chances to all users from newbie to jr. member. For now the category remains because I have limited merits. However, since you too are here and supported then I bet you can help a lot. The only problem now is that most newbie are bounty hunters so it will take more time for us to see and merit a newbie here.

I will continue to look after for this thread and see to it if there could be possible newbies worthy of recieving the merit l.probably  change the category if ever I get more merits over the period of time. I am not keen on quality posters instead I will consider average users that do not do bounty hunting.

Thank you Newbie for increasing attention.  What I think is that if you don't know the rules in the forum first, you will never be able to do anything good.  We can increase the rank by helping people and giving them some good information.  Thank you so much for encouraging us to post something like this.  I wish you a long life.  And I expect you to have a much bigger rank in this forum.

A post trying to motivate newbies to post on this section and to post on this thread but all the replies are from higher-ranked members so far.
Yeah the reason why this happen because newbies are confused and do not know where to start in learning cryptocurrency. They all end up searching for how to learn on bounty hunting and less likely to visit this very important section for them to learn. The purpose of the cryptocurrency was defeated because of this new users that are not been guided accordingly resorted to scamming and doing fraud or worst become a victim of scam and fraud. In my opinion it would be a good thing to let them lure them here by giving them their first merit so as they will keep coming back into this section to where they can rely on to ask whenever they are confused on certain topics especially in basic technical aspects in cryptocurrency.

Educating them here would less likely to get more victims on scamming and getting away from the fraud activities. Educating them here is they key that there will be less likely to get scam. We had a lots of users here extending there help through extensive sharing of information and ideas on scamming and fraud activities which newbie and all of the user can learn from.

Newbie most likely are not aware of this section and they do not tend like to visit because they could not getting anything here. But if we could give them the motivation to get their first merit here then higher chances they can keep on coming back into this section and could start a thread of their inquiries and confusions regarding cryptocurrency and not by those good for nothing scammers outside in this section.

Smart is not enough, there must be skills
This is a thread that is quite interesting, maybe it can be said for newbies to do quality posts that they are good at anywhere, maybe there will be a lot of contributions for newbies who have done quality posts and I see here a lot of interactive ones where many newbies grow with merit in can for me that is very extraordinary.

But what I have noticed now is that many newbies join this forum just to work on the bounty and of course this will increase the cheating that occurs even the catch continues non-stop because they keep greedy it up.

I hope this thread will be of much benefit and motivation for the newbie.

I've been keen and watching out for replies from newbies and the few have seen to reply haven't hit me up just yet. I wanted to drop a post link of my own but the part that talked about what it felt like to have your first merit got me paused. I'm looking to merit someone myself so, you guys just got to apply with the best post and let's know your content.

I don't think you have any need to give only 4 merits to Newbies. You can easily find 4 users from   Forum sections.

But one thing Your afford is obviously appreciated.

Bro @jademaxsuy, save your merit and don't give them that easily.

Don't distribute them with only a single posts from them because they can make one but that will not guaranteed them as an effective member here.

Everyone can make a single post that is informative but the question is, how long they will do that?
If there's no reward, will they continue to make posts like that?

It is true that just continue exploring this forum to find those users who truly deserve to earn a merit with their hardwork and effort.
The merit system is not moderated so that people can send it on to anyone and on post of any quality. However, give merit for low quality post in my opinion is not good idea as there are thousand of other quality posts that deserve merit.
The merit system has two function, first as a condition for rank-up and secondly as a reward for user who have good post quality. If you receive a merit for a quality post, you should also send it to other user quality post because thats how the merit system is supposed to work.

I admit that it is currently very difficult to get merit here, I have seen many posts where, in my opinion, merit could be given, but this post remains without a reward
Do your best and never complain. Everyone has their own point of view about the quality of user post, if they feel that the post is worthy then I am sure the merit source will not miss it.

I think that's okay, but .. not every post should be rewarded. I admit that it is currently very difficult to get merit here, I have seen many posts where, in my opinion, merit could be given, but this post remains without a reward

Just tell them to always be a responsible user here, tell them to follow the rules and regulations here, and most importantly, make quality posts.

Merits are there if you truly deserve it, you should not give them instantly because you told them.

Obviously this time they will make a good posts because there is a reward.

It is much better to save them to those who really worked hard for it.

This is a good initiative by you OP because right here there are a lot of lower ranks today wand to earn merit but they are struggling to earn it. Just an addition it's better to make rules or quantification on giving smerits so you can push them to make a constructive post.

Also I want to share the thread created by LoyceV to help unmerited good post and I highly recommended to submit here if you see a good thread that deserves merit.

[self-moderated] Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source

The goal is to find good posts from users who don't deserve to be blocked from ranking up by Merit.

OP I think you can just visit here:

Sometime newbies rarely hangout here(those bounty hunters) on BH or those true bitcoiner dont actually care on the merit system and just post ihing on some useful thread like development and technical discussion thread that actually discuss something knowledgeable about bitcoin.

I saw many newbies there when I reading they dont seem to post here and beg about merits or ask about how to get one.

This is actually a very good idea. Support for newbies and their motivation for further good publications has been announced here for a long time. Unfortunately, many merit holders are very biased towards newcomers. There is no need to demand more from them than what they are capable of at first.
Let this be a regular post, well-voiced about understanding cryptocurrencies. Yes, it may have been said millions of times, but the phrase said by a beginner indicates the correct direction of his thought.
Let's be a little simpler in relation to them.

It is a good thing to do by sending smerit to newbies who are deserving to earn a single merit. There are a lot of newbies who earn merits and still not rank to jr. member. I think there will be more newbies who post good quality post that haven't receive any merit yet so this will be their chance to earn. I myself did the same thing before when I have smerits stored for deserving participants.
