Nature decays, but Latinum lasts forever. RoA:102
So did the Ferengi do something to the network?  I have gotten 3 stakes not confirmed in last week which is odd for my transactions.

Ferengi last stake was October 24. As I say above, CAP have many problems and need hardfork or coin swap. Better ask Presstab take over CAP.
In Hyperstake no such problems at all.

I downloaded the Wallet BottleCaps version v2.2.2.0-g418187240-Caps2.
I own some very old CAP coins and got my wallet ready.
But the 3 nodes in the thread startpost seem to be dead.
Could anyone tell me some online nodes so I can move my coins?

If you go to cryptopia and coin info you will find a list of the nodes they are connected to.

The above list is from cryptopia: https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/CoinInfo/?coin=CAP

It would be awesome to have some bounties for this coin to do some marketing, websites, artwork, and a Bottlecaps float at the next Thanksgiving Parade.

Hi, guys! Nice project. I have some questions about bounty program, it is clear to me, but when we get the coins for the bounty? Immediately or need to wait for long?

This is an old coin.  I don't think there is anyone giving away bounties here.  Try messaging the account who did the OP.

CAP keeps chugging along, would be nice to have an update to make it easier to manage.

Do you guys code?  I am curious to know if the memory problem can be fixed soon.  Why does it take more memory than other wallets?  Growthcoin has a similar problem but it also uses more CPU than most, which isn't a problem with Bottlecaps.

I can code well enough to examine wallet source for shenanigans.
I don't have what I would call enough skill or experience to dev a coin. (My standards are high, I'd do a shoddy job)

To be honest I'd quite like to but it's a serious undertaking, which requires time. (hats off to Tranz et.al.).

The memory and cpu issues are inherited from the original code base they were cloned from.
Back in 2013-14 people were literally just tinkering with block reward / times POS rewards etc ... real copy paste stuff ... and launching a "new" coin.

They were all clones of something, ones with good, interested devs have evolved. Others survived, most perished - until this year when everything is creeping back out of the wood work.
Proof that crappy alts are like cockroaches, never quite dead enough.

The point is the original code base never really considered what happens 5 years later. Compound that by folks deciding 30 second block fast coins were a great idea ... massive "emoty" blockchain

interesting video
Shame in the video they didn't lay down some ground rules .. exoected % stake rate , reliability etc.

Caps is a solid coin in terms of reliable staking, it's been long forgotten in the hype /shill / pump  your stash leagues but it's chugging along nicely.
I'll always have a big bag of caps, if only just for fun.

Tranz has already stated that updates to HBN will come first then come to CAP.  We do not need a hostile takeover.

memory problem khm ?
and how much doge wallet takes, or dgb, or hbn ?

I never staked those, but stake about 10 others.  Piggycoin is similar in amount but most others are less.  What is khm?

Incidently:

I think Caps would beat out a lot of those besides RAIN and 808.

staking doge or dgb would be difficult lol...
any long chain takes a lot of memory,
i don't know of any brand new approach to handling block index and tx db to make things easier
if piggycoin reach 3200k blocks like cap it'll need a lot more memory as well

I keep hearing that Tranz has implemented something and Noise a developer for Version and Truck is doing the same.

I was thinking Growthcoin is taking a lot of CPU because there are only three people on the network.  If there were more, maybe my CPU usage would go down.

Well there is not much to be done about it but it speaks volumes about the little Ferengis motives.
He's chosen a bloody good avatar / handle to be fair to him
No self delusion there .lol

So first I'm going to apologise to you guys, seems I might have given the liitle guy ideas.
But true to his nature he's not going to say, Oh Hi community I have found a problem and here is the solutions ... etc etc

He's going to rinse it for every bean he can get out of it and not mention it on the main thread. OK so excellent Ferengi role play

---------------------------------------

As a side note I've been considering running my addresses through as many alt chains as I can find just to see where
a coin has been quietly forked without informing the originating chains community.

Good way to cut out a large holding of POS coins by simply not letting anyone know there is a new chain / wallet , as time passes even the biggest holders
become insignificant as they no longer stake.

I'd be gob smacked if I'm the first to think of this but also hope I haven't inadvertently started "Scam 3.0 Ghost chains" or something.

[CAPP] BottleCapsPlus

Because original CAP was abandoned and users not want any change and protect old coin, I create new coin,
with fresh chain, advanced protected code (Novacoin or Hyperstake) with parameters almost like in HYP.
All balances will be premined and send to first 250 users from Richlist. http://www.presstab.pw/phpexplorer/CAP/richlist.php?count=250
Start time, January 2018. Additional parameters will be later. If you want participate, keep yours CAP on address within first 250 in Richlist
on 1 January 2018.

Not bothering to mention that here though.

What I saw:

I create new coin, with fresh chain

and then...

All balances will be premined and send to first 250 users from Richlist.

Aside from this, not sure how "honest" ya'll consider me... but I'm in that 250 magic wallet zone... so I'll see what happens...

SCIFI coin do not need any enhancement after start. And I control not only SCIFI, also KED, GPL, QBT, BUK, soon create GPL+.
Fix CAP take only 1-3 days for coding and testing.

I want take code control over CAP, because Tranz abandon CAP. Before, I take most code fix to my coins from CAP.

There is a big enough userbase here and a $150,000 marketcap.  That's not small change, it represents a lot of people's investments.  If you want to help the coin you have to cooperate with others who have a pre-existing interest and ownership.
That is why I ask, before start coding. And I am number 1 in richlist (2 homewallets + exchange).

If you not want - wait Tranz....Goodbye  Sad

That escalated quickly, I was happy to see voting on your 5% stakeholder proposal. The 7M in your claimed address and the #1 in richlist address on Cryptopia - with orders parked around 35-45 since April - account for your holdings? I'd have to agree with others that your approach was slightly presumptous. When you took 'Control' of the coins in your list (e.g., KED, GPL, QBT, BUK, etc.) did you come to them as the sell-wall Messiah?

With Bottlecaps being one of the first 50 cryptcurrencies (37th, 38th, 39th, ??) created i'll be glad to support the network awhile longer, wallet staking, validating rules and hodling.

I'm more interested in the outcome of the vote as a barometer for eyeballs on this thread.

Perhaps we should vote to hard fork with some extra code to choke off the wallets of known POS cheats.. Ehh it's a thought

Anyway feel free to take a leaf from PressTab book and hard-fork a new chain, make it significantly different and fix the (cough) bug.
I'm sure we'd all be happy to get duplicate coins on another chain which we can trade ...on  ..  .

..... Ah I see .. easy to buy cheap coins on an abandoned (allegedly) chain and suggest (hijack) development when the coin has long standing listings on exchanges....

Harder to get new coin listed. Doesn't that come at some cost ??

No, go with the PressTab..  created something new and respectfully left the old chain to get on and succeed on it's own merits.
No muss, No FUD, no BS

Ferengi vs Jedi .. I'm Jedi all the way MoFo. This ain't the coin you're looking for. It's a question of manners and politeness, you know, good breeding.

I think most people in CAP are happy with Tranz and not overly concerned that we are or are not making MASSIVE PROFIT but enjoying the vibe all the same.
