He is now the new king of boxing's meme's.

Lol, as much as I want to keep this thread open, but I have to locked it after 24 hours.

Perhaps he is still concussed from the left that Davis gave him and can't accept the fact that Davis knock his ass out and then some.  Grin

Yeah, I will call it smart play by Davis, Romero can talk shit again after the fight and says that Davis ran because he can't deal with his power. but I think Davis did the right thing here, figuring out Rolly and then countering him when he is going inside. Davis goes as far as comparing this to Marquez KOing the great Pacman.

Davis was surprised by the Romero's aggression, I reckon. Davis also did not appear to be in control for much of the fight which stopped him from his common tactic of forcing his opponent to commit a mistake and find an opportunity for his power left punch. I was very sure my bet for under 6.5 rounds would lose until he found an opportunity to slip Romero's punch to attack with his own left hehehe. It was intelligent boxing, however, was he not lucky? Will he do something similar to King Ryan?

Yeah, and just like what I said, it's going to end in six rounds. Romero was really nothing as compare to Tank, he just talks too much, and we all know what happens to those trash talker when they lost, they can't accept it.

He's winning the round until that huge counterpunch it may look premature but the ref doesn't care about the time he looked into Rolly's eyes and he can see that another one big punch and his career will be ruined, Ref stoppage is correct they know better than all of us, that deserves Romero good now he will become the next internet meme after Josue Vargas, who is very boastful and very disrespectful and claims to be the most explosive boxer in the history of boxing.

Watching the replay of the fight, in the beginning I thought that the ref stoppage is wrong,  but looking at how Rolly's legs are and his eyes, and he goes down face first, which is a sign that the punch was really on the target. And just imagine if that punch is 100% power, Rolly wouldn't get up. Davis said that he didn't have that power in that counter left hook Rolly just ran into it, and the way he throw it is awkward.

And one judges had Romero ahead by one point, while the two give it to Davis, 49-46 and 48-47.

Have watched the post-fight interview of Rolly and to my surprise, he is in the denial stage and claimed he won every moment of the rounds and expose Tank, he did not admit or give respect to Tank for that set up punch, Romero is to arrogant hew needs another whip in his ass.

He has become the new internet meme and laughing stock just check up this video and see for yourself

I saw this on Youtube hours before I see your post here and looks like Romero is still dreaming on that interview. Draw?? Like WTF!! Cheesy
Well, he can't accept the fact that he lost for the first time that is why he act like that. He is in denial phase and looks like hallucinating and can't accept his defeat and now he is a meme in the internet now and being laughed by many people online.

Tank said in the interview that Romero doesn't deserve a rematch while Romero wants it. There might be a chance that there might be a rematch between these 2. Tank really is that fast and strong but I thought that he got injured for a sec while watching it. Overall, that left hook was brutal that Romero was shocked. Congrats to Tank and I'm waiting for his next opponent. Garcia? Or Romero again? Any other.

Well he showed that he had a chance against Tank. But all that is not anymore important when you can't survive a punch. You can talk of successfully exposing Tank, winning every round, getting the judges' decision, etc all you want but the point is that you lost.

Romero indeed won certain rounds. But he won battles and lost the war. He might have beaten the referee's count but he showed lack of coordination after that. He showed that he couldn't anymore fully control his movement. It was a good stop.

But the thrash talk is not convincing anymore, he can say what he wants to say but he cannot ignore the fact that he has been knocked out, this is not a decision win its a knockout and this will hurt him for quite some time he is asking for a rematch because he allegedly exposes him and he is winning all the rounds, he may be leading the whole seconds of the fight but its the win or the knock out that counts.

It was an easy match for Tank, as expected, he won by KO in the 6th round. It was a nice left hook to shut up Romero, a single punch finished him off and he couldn't recover. It feels a bit messy as Romero is doing combos aggressively throughout 6 rounds, Tank started catching up on the counters after the fourth round and finished before it was too late.

I went on the KO mate,  Grin

Congrats on your win mate, i thought that it would go the distance just like what happened to the Cruz fight but Romero got careless in the sixth round and walk through that left that sent him to the canvass. Yeah, Davis started slow maybe he was figuring Romero first and doesn't take any careless moves as Romero also got that power punches of his own.

Davis was calling out the winner of that Kambosos-Haney fight, that might be a good one too but i do hope that Kambosos will be victorious on that one because he is tailored fit for a knockout puncher like Lopez and Davis.

Yes, I witnessed this incident directly on the live broadcast. The tank pushed him there, but the thought seemed a little taken aback. He later said that he deserved it because he talked too much. Romero has strong hits as you said, it can be dangerous if he catches Tank, but I think Tank will win this fight no matter what. This match will definitely be KO.

Again, part of the marketing as usual lol. That's Romero's strength, trash-talking his opponents but in the few hours it will be just the two of them and even the trash-talk won't help him against Davis. Bookies predict this fight to end via KO in favor of Davis but for me, the odds are not worth it so I still bet for Davis to win but via decision for that 5.4 odds. We may see lots of hugging in this fight and Romero will use hid bicycle once he tastes that Davis power punches.

Just don't like that Davis started very slow in this fight. Maybe he just want to figure out Rolly, but that guy is just one sided, he just bring power in the table. But he has improved a lot from the last fight that I've seen him and he looks really prepared but caught by a perfect left.

Nice win mate,  and they are right, Davis was really smart, he was patient enough to wait for the right timing and that made Romero lose the fight via TKO. I hope Romero will now realize that trash talk does not work all the time, with one loss, it's a huge loss for him but he will come back if he will learn from his mistake.

So what's next for Tank? He seemed a good draw. This fight is nonsense to the real hardcore boxing fans. Hopefully it is true that it was his last fight with Floyd Mayweather jr. Maybe Tank has woken up and is ready to decide on things for his own. He mentioned that he is interested on the winner of Kambosos and Haney. And just after his fight, the queen of boxing social media Ryan Garcia said he wants Tank next.

I would say that his dancing partner has some draw too, remember the hype leading up to the fight. And the thing is, a lot of present boxers are there to watch the fight of Davis, the gate attendance as confirmed by Ellerbe is like 19k, that's huge.

I want to see Tank destroy Ryan Garcia next, but for sure GBP is not going to take that risk and is going to protect his current cash cow.

As much as I want Tank to win, I agree that the stoppage was somewhat premature, Romero looks ok after the referee has ask him.
But whatever, Tank deserved this win, and I wanted to see him punished Romero more
That's why the referee do stoppage to prevent from unnecessary damage from Tank, this is boxing and not MMA, even in MMA the referee also do stoppage when the fighter already give up or already bloody.

Ryan Garcia vs Tank Garcia has been in talk for years. I think they can still fight but I speculate that it will be in 140 lbs as Garcia's might have a problem at 135 lbs just like in his last fight wherein it was at a catch weight at 138 lbs if I'm not mistaken.
Easy fight for Tank, Garcia didn't even win via KO against Emmanuel Tagoe while we seen Tagoe is only keep running in the ring. Garcia will keep cherry pick his opponent and want to make his undefeated record like Mayweather. If there's a fight Tank vs Garcia, I would bet for Tank without think twice.

Haven't included this fight in my schedule but I did tried to catch the fight minutes ago but i'm late. So the cherry picked Rolly the green robot was smeshed in 6 rounds. Ref should have given that robot another chance so he can taste more of Tank's power shots.

But that fight is going to be huge, as both are very young and huge puncher and hopefully Oscar are willing to let Ryan fight Tank. Not sure which promotional company should Tank go, Ellerbe and Floyd has guided his career to the extend that he become a champion in the last 3-4 years.

Rolly hit Tank with a good right prior to the huge counter left punch. And even after the stoppage Rolly's leg is still gone and wobbly and his corner have to help him going to the locker room.

I'm not familiar with Josue Vargas though, but the last big internet meme as far as I can remember is when Maidana bet Broner.

Davis though should face a name fighter in his next fight. No more easy and cherry pick fights for him.

Tank won the grudge match with one punch, it was one big punch that Romero cannot recover in time many fans thought it was premature but with more time Tank can damage Romero, this is too much humiliation for Romero that he did not even bother to congratulate Tank he just goes out in the ring.
many people will be happy after the Romero knocks out, he claimed to be the most explosive fighter, but he's been disposed of in one punch

not sure what Tank's next move though, if he will continue to sign with Floyd's promotion or seek a different one to manage his career moving forward.
