I’m in agreement here. I don’t think Logan is or should be the favorite, but I’m crossing my fingers for him to land a lucky punch and shut Mayweather up. I just take issue with the people who say he’s a YouTuber who has no chance in a fight. He’s an experienced wrestler and I’m sure could beat the hell out of 99.9% of this forum, myself included. That being said, maybe Mayweather could take down 100%.
The only reason Logan Paul is getting the fan during his events is simply because there are fans who always believe that he could make some magically move that could upset his opponent and then there are other enthusiast who believe that someone could beat Floyd Mayweather up and they are purchase each and every one of his PPV only because to see him get defeated and that is the only reason Conor McGregor even became the highest selling PPV and now you think Logan Paul could land a lucky punch  Cheesy.

No debate about the wrestling credentials of Logan and Jake paul and they will defeat 99.99% of users in this forum with boxing as they know how to strike but against the best defensive boxer you need to wait for that lucky punch even to land one  Grin.
A certain person may be good in a specific sport, but that doesn't mean he is also good in other sports. Look at Conor Mcgregor, he is one of the best MMA fighters, but look what happens when he fights Mayweather, he was just like a punching bag where Floyd just even having fun of him. They generated a huge amount of money at that time, in fact, it's easy money but that would not be possible without us.

The only thing in the air (in my opinion) is whether he has the skills to touch Floyd. I sort of don’t think he does, but he’s been training hard and shit happens.

I doubt that too. Floyd's counter punch is so quick and he has great head movements and footwork too. However, Floyd's age might have decreases his agility. So, Paul has always the chance to hurt Floyd or could Knock him down at a certain round because he (Paul) has a longer reach.
On the other hand, I'm pretty sure Floyd cannot knock Paul down. The Kid seems tough and Floyd might be fighting defensively as he usually does especially Paul is a bigger opponent.

Hey, at the end of the day its a fight, and we have weight classes for a reason. Smaller men, generally don't do well against bigger men. So, definitely he has a punchers chance, although I'm significantly doubting it, it may well happen. I would be more than happy to put my hands up, and say well done to Logan. If Logan manages to knock out Floyd Mayweather, that would be incredible not only for him, but also for boxing. I'm actually secretly wanting Logan to win, although that doesn't mean I have much hope of that actually manifesting.

You cant really stop people on saying up those things because basing up into their career then even a blind person would be just hearing out would able to make out comparisons between these two guys.

We cant stop them on criticizing or do really have a look down on Logan's capacity towards boxing.Yes, he might able to beat up 99% of us on this forum but its not the main issue here.

Lucky punches do exist but doesnt mean that we would really be seeing it on this fight.Supposed these exhibition fights are for the sake of entertainment then most like we cant really be seeing
such stuffs.

What an very interesting fight, seeing again Floyd Mayweather entering the ring is giving me an excitement to watch the fight although it is just an exhibition fight

I don't understand where's the excitement there wherein Floyd Mayweather will fight a Youtuber and internet personality.

I don't mind if it's an exhibition match or not but the real excitement is a battle within the same league.

That's why others said that Mayweather is killing the art of entertainment in boxing. A good tactic to earn money without a hassle.

That's right, at least Mayweather fight a real boxer, not a popular YouTuber, however, it's his decision and it's up to us if we will support this kind of exhibition, without us, this would not be successful and there will be no more fights like this in the future. It's really easy for him as his opponent has not experienced winning in a boxing match yet based on his record, but Floyd is an undefeated fight at different championships, which means easy form him or easy money.

Without the interest from the fans this kind of exhibition fight won't gain any success..

For sure there are people who loves seeing him inside the ring some might think that he'll be beaten and a lucky punch may land to his face and knock him down, others may really supporting him due to his defensive talent.

The support from the audience brings money for this two fighters, they are relying with them, if there are many who'll embrace this kind of setting then expect to see more and more exhibition to happen.,

Logan finished 5th in the state in wrestling in high school (with a slight injury) and made a division 1 wrestling team in college. I know he’s got the fighter spirit in him and he very obviously has the physicality to cause problems. The only thing in the air (in my opinion) is whether he has the skills to touch Floyd. I sort of don’t think he does, but he’s been training hard and shit happens. I stand by my thought that Logan has a better chance than he’s being given, and will happily admit to being dead wrong if Logan gets his ass knocked out in the first round.
I treat wrestling, and getting hit in the face a little differently. He's definitely got dedication, and heart he wouldn't be where he is today if he didn't. He's in tremendous shape too, so he's obviously someone who works hard. I don't doubt that, and I know he was a good wrestler. (I believe in the USA, state wrestling is held to a rather high regard). However, I'm not convinced he has that killer instinct that's needed to put the pressure on in a boxing match. I can only go by what I've seen, and the fight against the Youtube guy, he was hesitant, and despite the very well timed, and executed uppercut, he largely avoided throwing many combinations at all.

Respect the age of Floyd Mayweather as he is 44 years old and if he thinks that he can do a few exhibition fights and make some money then it is his choice, i still love to see Floyd Mayweather fighting Manny Pacquiao and if that could be their final fight i would not mind as both are well past their time in terms of age even though they are high level fighters that they could defeat anyone in their weight division and let them have a huge pay day before retirement .
If that would happen, it will be another blockbuster fight and both will be guaranteed to make $100 million or more. We are hoping for that but it doesn't look probable at this moment as Floyd so focuses on exhibition matches which I think he is already satisfied with what he makes.

I think when they stand next to each other on fight night there are going to be a lot of people thinking Logan looks like a giant next to him.
Yeah, Logan is a big dude. However, he was a big dude compared to the Youtuber he last fought. I think I remember him having one nice uppercut, but was largely running away in that fight, and just popping off one jab to keep the distance, rather than putting combinations together. He could be a good fighter if he had that fighter spirit in him, I'm just not convinced he does. He seems to soft, and to worried about getting hit himself to actually pose a threat.

Floyd also knows how to deal with larger opponents, as he's done it for his whole career.

Exhibition fights are just for entertainment but for those boxers and management get involved then this is just some sort of easy money grabber into its fans which it isn't something surprising.

We have seen different fights in the past in regards with this exhibition ones and we know that they are really making some money on it amidst with this pandemic situation.

When it comes to fight performance then no doubt that this would be just an easy one for Mayweather or wont really be much needing some effort.

Mayweather considers Pacquiao the best he ever fought: ‘A hell of a fighter’

What do you think about the statement of Floyd Mayweather Jr.? Does it look like a promotional one? is there a chance that the two will have their rematch? This is actually the first time I heard Mayweatehr praised Pacquiao, so I was just surprise.

I just feel I need to post it here and I believe this is the right thread since Mayweather is here.  Smiley

It could be a promotional speech in the future when both of them is in total retirement and exhibition matches became a trend.
I'm pretty sure this statement from Floyd will be revived in the next 4-5 years when these both figthers decides to put on a show and earn millions of dollars once again out of their retirement.
IMHO, Pacquiao vs. Mayweather as a professional match won't happen again. If It will happen again, and I'm Floyd Mayweather. I'm not gonna accept It If it doesn't guarantee my win. I don't want to be on the verge of my career and get my first loss ever. If you know what I mean, it's all business right here.

This is an easy money-making opportunity for Floyd Mayweather now that he is already retired. He can generate great amount of money by agreeing on exhibition matches with low profile people. By doing so, he would have big advantage on winning the match, since his opponents are underskilled and inexperienced compared to him.

This type of matches don't sit well with me because it somehow "devalues" the professional matches. However, this is only my personal take. I just hope he'll fight with someone a little closer and equal on him when it comes to level of experience in boxing.

Many of us hates Floyd Mayweather but let's be honest that he is really on of the best and legendary boxers of all time despite of his arrogance attitude still there are so many people who sre idolizing him.

is it promotional? No, if you read Mayweather's previous interviews over the years and when ask's about his fight against Pacquiao he says that Pacquiao is one of the best fighters he fought. him saying Pacquiao is "A hell of a fighter" is not surprising at all

I don't really know if there will ever be a rematch, there might be a chance, but in the article, Mayweather stated that going out of retirement doesn't interest him anymore and that he makes more money when doing exhibition matches which is much easier to do than official matches.

That's why it is a surprise because I don't exactly know what is the ulterior motive besides the moeny that both party is going to receive. I just hope that I can enjoy this fight because the Jake Paul versus Ben Askren fight was a disaster.
I wouldn't hope for it. logan paul is fighting one of the best fighter. the only way this fight would be entertaining is if Mayweather can knockout logan paul in the first round.

Aside from money I'm not sure what surprise are you pointing here? Knowing Mayweather, he's always after for the money.

Whatever it is he will collect his paycheck and probably it's more enough to support his leisure and luxurious lifestyle. He won't stake his name without being compensated the way he wanted, promoters and those people behind this fight knows the characteristic of Mayweather.

After all, it's just another exhibition fight where the losers are those who pay for it, both fighters will get their shares win or lose.

That would be great news if he has any intention to fight Manny Pacquiao again, he will get the respect he desires if he can beat Manny in that rematch. However, I doubt they will fight again, maybe the chance is very low as Mayweather now is focused on exhibition fights where he makes the same money or even bigger in a professional fight.
