Of course, this is a interesting match, both knows how to promote the fight thru trash talking and antics during the press conference. I'm seeing Conor attacking Logan's lack of experience here as compare to himself which has been in the Octagon and with a lot of experience under his belt.
Conor can handle the marketing with minimal effort yet make a huge impact because people already know him, his badass attitude in MMA and his hit movie, where he plays the same badass persona, keep him in the spotlight. He's everywhere, and people love watching him. That’s why the promoters offered such a massive payout for this fight. It’s guaranteed to be a blockbuster, especially in a country with the largest population - India.
That's where McGregor is good in promoting his fights that's why his every fight in UFC is record breaking. And then his fight with Floyd is a record too just behind Floyd and Manny. So he is a bankable star because of this loud mouth and fans love him for that.
That's why even if he makes a comeback in UFC after missing several years, he could still make a lot of money as fans are willing to watch him. That's why we are not surprised about his massive payout here as the backer of this fight can also profited big from him as he is a cash cow and a magnet.
The payout is massive again. I think this time there is even more interest in this match up because
of McGregors recent conviction for sexual assault. He does garner a love/hate relationship from
fans and the general public. Fans want to see him success and with the general public there is a large
cohort who want to see him get beaten.
Hi is currently underdog with Paul proving slight favourite, IMO its really hard to pick a winner, McGregor
is "old" but as has been mentioned he is a fighter. Reading other social media a lot of people have
the Irish man to win big time.
It's just weird to see Conor as a underdog against Logan Paul. I think Conor still has the experience even if this is boxing as he has a good stand up and he I would say is above striker during his UFC stint as he knockout a lot of his opponents with his left hand.
Yeah, I think fans have this sort of love and hate relationship because of his attitude towards inside and outside the ring. And that's what makes him sell fights with such controversies that he involved himself just like what you describe regarding his sexual assault case.
It is odd to see McGregor as underdog but this is boxing and I suppose a lot of people are transposing
his dominance in the Octagon to the Square. He might very well be quite a good boxer but arguably he
was a by far better "boxer" than any of his UFC opponents. Now Paul isnt a boxer either, as in its not his
first discipline, so who is the better non-boxer boxer? obviously the majority of people are favouring Paul,
this is probably based on his age v McGregor who is probably look at now as a veteran.
But also as is reflected in the odds, its very close with arguments for both fighters.
