Conor broke his leg, which was probably the worst thing that happened to him. He also got choked out by Khabib, but during that fight, Conor managed to show some decent boxing skills. However, Khabib’s ground game was just too good, which is why Conor lost.
That was really big, it change his career as after that he wasn't fighting anymore.
according to his record, his last fight was in year 2021 in MMA.

But this is boxing, and I'm sure his leg is fine already.

As for boxing, I only remember him fighting Mayweather. He wasn’t knocked down in the fight, but it was clear that the real boxer had the upper hand. Conor got tired in the later rounds, which led to a TKO win for Mayweather by stoppage.
Yeah, that was pretty much expected as  Mayweather isn’t a knockout artist, but I’m sure if he had been 100% focused on knocking Conor out, it would’ve happened. Instead, Mayweather chose to entertain the crowd and only went for the kill in the later rounds when Conor was completely exhausted.

But that was Mayweather. This is Logan, who isn’t even a good boxer based on his record, and I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a close fight, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Conor pulls off a big win here.

Have we seen Conor get knocked out? I don’t think we have. We’ve seen him choked out and we’ve seen his leg get broken, but I can’t recall seeing the guy ever lose consciousness. Someone remind me.

MMA knockouts are usually pretty clean. Seeing someone get beaten with pillow fists until they fall over is a different thing. It’s more punishing.

                - big names, big games. For me this is just another money game. Gregor is a real figher in the octagon.
Paul is for fame and money. to add on this, lets go back to Gregor vs Mayweather fight. The size is not match but the money will do it.

Isn't this an exhibition fight?  If it is then it is not a surprise that this is a money grab match... Sadly I do not think that there is much of an excitement on this fight.  It would be worth spending if it is an MMA fight but boxing... Conor McGregor can't showcase his full ability while Logan being a boxer can.  Mcgregor having recovered from injury, smaller fighter and facing a bigger opponent with limited option for fighting... I have a feeling that we might see another McGregor loss here (if not a rigged draw).

Its a BS fight Cheesy I dont understand the world that when it is ready to pay millions for a fight like that. A used to be huge start, but now a guy who is more involved in scandals and problems than in sport vs blogger, energy drink business owner and a guy who pumps his body as a preparation for a boxing fight against speedy boxer Cheesy A freak fight when a heavyweight bull will smash like a train Irish drunky Cheesy

It's been with us, I mean we love controversies and scandals and even if we say that Conor is train wreck, we can't deny his personality that attract millions and willing to pay to either see him win or lose. And with that kind of money, who would refused it?

We've seen it before that this whole exhibition match is BS and might not last that long. However, even if we are now in the normal, it grows bigger and bigger and involving huge personalities and it starts to be the absurd but in the end, if there are fans that are willing to watch then this kind of BS will continue.

I don't think we all want to see Conor get knocked out do we?  That's my issue with this fight.  If it were Logan Paul vs Andrew Tate, any knockout would be hilarious to see.  If Conor goes down to Logan, it's basically the end of his fighting career, and some of us wanted to see him make his way back to the octagon.  I guess at this point he may be too old and damaged, so he's going for a final payday?  Unless Logan gets knocked out, I don't really care what happens.  If Logan does win, the only upside would be maybe we'd get to see him and Andrew Tate fight.  That's what I want to see..

We have seen Conor though being knockout in his MMA career, so that is not surprising at all for the fans that are willing to watch this kind of fights. It's probably on how they are going to market this one so that fans are going to be interested. Maybe in the press conference there will be a lot of trash talking and even physical altercation.

So it's not about the knockout, it's how those two are going to punch each other out and bring animosity inside the ring. But at then of the day, they will shook hands and doesn't matter who will win as the money in the line here is really huge for this two.

Lol true, but I believe there are already some people behind the scenes scheming something to make this fight interesting to watch.  Maybe fight this might trigger the interest of people to see whether McGregor still has the ability to come back to Octagon.  Whatever the scheme is, people behind the scene will surely do whatever it can to promote this fight (probably the reason why they are taking the rich family in India as a sponsor is due to its influence and money to fund the fight).

In the entertainment industry, people will find reasons that will trigger the interest of people.  And yeah people have different tastes and preferences.  People might find an event trash but to other, it would be a must-see/attend one and this fight is no difference.

When Mayweather and McGregor decided to fight in the boxing ring, many also said that it's a BS fight, but the fight generated around $396 Million in revenue. I know it's BS for some, but for them, they will do it for the sake of... money, money and more money.

On the flipside, people wanted to get entertained and both of them have a huge following especially Logan Paul so I'm pretty sure that this will generate huge revenues hence, both of them will make more money. You might not understand the world we are living right now, but it is what it is, and the only thing that we can do is to live with it. Cheesy I find it BS at first as well when they first introduced these kinds of fights, but over time, it came to a point where I just watch it because... why not? I mean it's entertaining still regardless of who they are.

Like the above user said, we have all the same taste of entertainment, and they aren't pleasing everyone to watch the fight at all. Let's just watch the fight I guess so we will all be entertained. Cheesy

The Mayweather vs McGregor fight was different because people hadn’t really seen these types of fights before and didn’t know what to expect. They thought McGregor had a chance. We all wanted him to win. He landed a perfect left uppercut on Floyd though and couldn’t hurt him. I imagine the same will be said for him hitting Logan and Logan doesn’t have the skills to catch him with a shot back. I would have rather seen Logan fight Andrew Tate to be totally honest.

Everyone has a different taste in entertainment. If this fight doesn’t satisfy you, you’re free to ignore it. But we can’t deny the fact that promoters are willing to pay such huge amounts of money, which pretty much guarantees they’ll make even more. This reflects the current taste of fans, exhibition fights have become the new trend, so this is a challegen for Pro fights that they need to step up and deliver big matchups to stay on top.

that's entertainment for you and people are addicted to it(hell, even I would pay for something that will entertain me), it doesn't matter to them if it is a BS fight, a stupid fight or if they are in a scandal or a business owner, as long as they see the people they idolize doing it they will willingly pay to watch it.

Is the underground/underworld betting there is bigger in India than what I am imagining? There's so much into this fight and surely a lot have invested into it to make it happen. So, it's not only Conor and Logan will make a lot of money from this fight but also the organizers and the venue itself will. It's very tempting to get into these fights and they make people more attracted to it when they have released any details yet. And that makes it an effective marketing to them when these players have also verified that the bout will come.

Do you think this fight between Logan Paul and Conor McGregor will attract a lot audience in India ? I thought boxing isn't a popular sports in India as compared to Cricket or other sports, so i doubt how much successful it would be. If this match was hosted somewhere in united states or Dubai, things might be different but there are lot of speculations as how India audience will react to this event ? Although media is trying to create enough hype but we need to see.

Conor McGregor Vs. Logan Paul: A potential fight that can earn millions but seems too good to be true!

No one would say no to that kind of purse. Even some popular boxers struggle to earn $100 million in a single fight. Exhibition fights like that bring in a lot of money for the boxers. I think it’s Conor who was the biggest contributor to making the promoters promise such a huge amount, because with Logan Paul alone, I’m not sure if it’s worth that much.

This is even bigger than what Conor earned against Mayweather, which was reported to be $100 million from the purse and PPV revenue combined.

I think average boxers received only less than a million per fight. Good boxers could be $1 million depending on the weight class, and elite could be $5 million and up. So them getting like $100 million, that could really be the biggest, not sure how much Usyk and Fury received in their fight, it could be around $50 million ++, I reckon.

But in this case, their benefactor is the riches person in India and 10th in the world if I'm not mistaken. If they can pay big money on US performers on his son's wedding, the older Ambani could easily pay them with that money and as you have said, they can't refused it assuming it's a 2-3 minute per round and it will last 10 rounds. So it's like 30 minutes max of work.

You can see it here how much regular boxers earn https://www.ziprecruiter.com/Salaries/Professional-Boxer-Salary It stated on that article that they earn average $21 an hour which is so small. Imagine you work hard the whole time and you only get that payments coming from your promoters.

Also here we can see how much top tier boxers earn https://jkcp.com/how-much-do-professional-boxers-earn/ you can see in that list how much Floyd down to Mike Tyson earn on boxing. And if its really true that Logan Paul well get paid $250 he is at Manny Pacquiao's level base on that site. For looking at Logans record all of us can provably agree that he doesn't deserve those payments. But I guess his influence in internet has something to say that's why maybe that is the reason why he offer huge amount for him.

There are some information that Logan Paul might receive the same and that's huge money to be paid on both of them that's why I would expect this fight would really happen since its a win win fight for both of them.

Maybe he push to make this fight to happen since if he get that money, maybe he can used it to refunds those people got affected on his scam project.

Damn, $250M each for an exhibition fight! I'm already amazed at how they are going to get this much money. Even Turki of Saudi will not spend this much for a real fight of the biggest boxing stars. It's very surprising to see how much they give attention to these two when Connor is already washed. There must be something happening besides all this noise.

I would think their promotion is really up there in India along with US and UK Army to find ways to make war against China in their borders.  Grin

There is more to the story about the money though. This 250 million $ number is not for the fight, I think the fight "only" pays like 100 million for each fighter. The rest of the purse is for both guys to promote India as an ambassador for the next 10 years or so.
Obviously, these are ridiculous numbers no matter what. I mean it's an obvious rigged fight, yet again. Hopefully with this purse Logan will finally do the right thing and reimburse the victims of his "crypto zoo" scam. They have been waiting forever and the promised (partial) refund still hasn't happened. What a douche!!  Roll Eyes

But according to what has been written in this article .

Quote
According to The Mac Life, McGregor is set to make a whopping $250 million for his efforts. Paul’s expected purse wasn’t mentioned, but it’s reasonable to assume it’s in the same ballpark.

You can read the full article here https://www.forbes.com/sites/brianmazique/2024/12/30/conor-mcgregor-vs-logan-paul-massive-payouts-new-details-revealed/

Roll Eyes

Damn, $250M each for an exhibition fight! I'm already amazed at how they are going to get this much money. Even Turki of Saudi will not spend this much for a real fight of the biggest boxing stars. It's really different when you're famous, and you have a body like Logan Paul's. The question is whether they deserve that kind of money or if they're worth being paid that much. If you ask me, no, because this is just an exhibition match. It seems unfair to professional boxers, and it feels like they're ruining the image of boxing. This is just my opinion.

For me the question is whether or not they will be paid at all. The fight will obviously not generate that much money, so it’s a question of how much money they get paid up front before the fight promoter runs off with the take and files bankruptcy. At least the fight is officially inked on paper now. I’m excited to see either of them lose.

And that could be record breaking if that number is true, so I have my skepticism about it. Perhaps that is the budget that that Ambani is willing to shell out, so everything is included on it, including the paycheck of Conor and Logan Paul.

I do not understand why the promoter will run off or files for bankruptcy.

There are too many eyes on his fight, in includes one of the riches person in the world, so I doubt that the fight promoter whoever it is, will do that. Both fighters have shown intentions already, so it's just a matter of time before everything is finalized.
