Interesting!
Though he is more likely going to lose in this fight and it's somehow unnecessary, but I don't see nothing wrong as well in reclaiming in what's supposed to be a win for him 2 decades ago.
https://youtube.com/shorts/oMoj4t4qxKA?feature=share
Here's a clip about the controversy.
Video is not mine, so all credits to the owner.
They could also use this controversy to sell this fight. I was not following this issue, but I don't know why the referee just exposed the kind of cheating. I don't think he's not aware that it could spark something that will make him pay for whatever he does before, regardless of the time passed.

His claim that he lost his opportunity to fight for a World title is not true he fought Larios for the Bantamweight title and Larios beat him decisively 10 rounds to 2 rounds if he is really a great boxer he should have won that fight here's a video of that fight
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1cieUhTY9I

And Pacquiao beat Larios decisively when they fought in 2006 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7_0VBf2rIQ Pacquiao is destined and is now a great fighter we should not take away anything from the guy, I saw the whole fight and Hussein is one dirty fighter, dirtier than Horn.

I will choose to stay with how I idolized the man, that controversy is with the organization and the officiating bodies, the fighters are not involved on it so better to removed Pacquiao's name with these revelations, if ever that there's cheating that happens it's not Pacquiao who did it but those people behind who controlled the fight, on my take more about the involvement of huge amount of money that circulates the fight.

We know that this sport is not just for entertainment but more on the gambling side, moving forward. If an exhibition may take place, that might be a good venue for Pacquiao, knowing him when this kind of issue is being thrown on him.

We don't know what's the point of all this after 20 years, Pacquiao's legacy will forever remain intact he earned it he worked for it
Hussein in his interview admits that he is a Pacquiao and he did not blame Pacquiao for what happened the issue is on Padilla, I don't think is a loophole in Pacquiao's greatness, Hussein just needs to forgive Padilla there are politics and cheating in boxing we just have to look on the Horn - Pacquiao match, but Pacquiao takes the fight as it is without blaming anyone.

That statement of referee Carlos Padilla has some intention, but I don't know what it is, if Pacman will again fight Hussein, I think things will not be different as Pacman had already become an 8th division before retirement unlike Hussein who has not achieve close to Pacman's achievement.

Let's say Hussein was cheated here, I think it's already a tie since Pacman was also cheated when he fought Jeff Horn.

If you keenly observe the knockdown, Manny is looking at the referee, waiting for the right time to  go up.  There is no chance that Manny can be count out since he is ready to stand up any time even though he is still dizzy.[1]
edit:
Also check on the timer,  Manny got up on the 8 or 9 count. He got knockdown on 2:22, possible the count start at 2:21 he got up around 2:13
.

It wasn't Manny who cheated but the officiating body if there is actually cheating happens.  The cut of Nedal is too deep, reason for the fight stoppage.  Besides, I think Manny is leading on that fight since he throws and connected more punch than Hussein.

One of the reply on YT about a KD count is worth noting

Quote from: Geron Guarte
Always remember this, boxing count is not based on seconds, that is why it's called " count". Try to find in any book of boxing if  there's a "10 seconds" knockdown rule. There is no. Referees count the boxer asses if he could still fight after the KD. he can also stop the count if the opposing boxer is not standing on the neutral corner. This issue has been resolve and clarify during wilder vs fury.

He will be slaughtered there. He is not quick anymore; he is already too old for Professional boxing. He should just stick to exhibition games where his health is utmost importance. If Manny wants to die in the ring, he should go back to professional boxing, otherwise, stick to exhibition matches. He can still earn money, be in the ring without the risk of getting countered heavy and ending up in the canvass knocked out for a few seconds. He is a legend but even legends have limits specially if you are already too old for the sports. It is not like chess that even if you are senior citizen, you can still play it. For professional boxing, 38 is too old and Manny is already 43.

If he insists to play pro, I think he is being duped by others around him who just want money from him without thinking the risk Manny will be facing in the pro ring.
His skills are old for professional fighting category because his opponent will take any chance to knockout and defend championship title, even though we want to see professional fight for his last fight but it can't happen because Manny choose exhibition fight, after fight with DK Yoo then there are some other exhibition fight to fight old boxers or other fighters of lower boxer ability.

Well what happens is that an exhibition fight will always have things that do not give us the slightest emotion, it may be that there are some things that we like, I admire the capacity of the heart that Pacquiao has to want to help people for In the middle of that, but I think that a lion cannot stay asleep for so long, it has to go hunting and be a predator, I think that now there are many things to fight age, the abilities, even in the most advanced age, do not he can surrender and say that he is not the same as before, he has to work on his body, he cannot feel old, he is a legend, I think there is even more Pacquiao.

A very interesting fact:

Aussie boxer at the centre of cheating scandal ready to come out of retirement after 15 YEARS for a justice re-match against Manny Pacquiao

Aussie boxer Nasser 'Skinny' Hussein has hinted at coming out of a 15-year retirement for a re-match against Manny Pacquiao after recent revelations Filipino referee Carlos Padilla cheated during their last bout in 2000.

The WBC governing body released a sensational interview last week in which Filipino referee Carlos Padilla admitted to giving the hometown hero an 18 second count to get to his feet.

I believe Manny Pacquiao has another exhibition after his fight with DK Yoo, now due to the scandal brought by Carlos Padilla,  Manny Pacquiao and Nedal Hussein are talking about a rematch via exhibition fight.[1]  I don't know if it is a strategy to make the possible exhibition fight(Pacquiao vs Hussein) intriguing by making Carlos Padilla spill out that they cheated Nedal Hussein making Manny Pacquiao win the match just to make a noise and give way to an exhibition fight.  Nevertheless, it looks like Manny's boxing schedule next year will be busy with these possible two incoming exhibition fights after DK Yoo.

Nedal Hussein is a dirty fighter back in the day. He uses headbutts and punches after the bell. He deserves the loss he got from Pacquiao. I watched that game recently and he gave at least two punches after the bell has rung. Padilla should have penalized the actions of Nedal. Even if it was not stopped, Pacquiao was in the lead in scoring. I do not think it will be a good exhibition fight if Nedal is just gonna play dirty. At least, I want to see a good boxing match, won in skills and not because of the dirty tactics employed by one boxer, in exhibition fights.

He can go and do exhibitions to keep his adrenaline not the same rules though, but more safe than dealing with a real pro-fight.

He can make more money in a real fight but his health could also be in danger, so it's better to just go with exhibition fights and continue to make money. His popularity is his key to another success, this time in exhibition fights, and people will still surely watch his fights.

Indeed, why bother taking that risk if the possibilities of making huge damages to your health is in stake, you can bring more money by doing exhibition as well, not that huge as what he's getting doing the real fight but  good enough for doing exhibition match, we can only conclude what will be his decision once he announce or his camp announce his plan

For now, exhibition will be expected from him especially if there are many challengers who wanted to take him for the sake of making
money.

exhibition fights are making a lot of money for these fighters who are on the verge of retirement, so that it has become a way for them to continue earning money doing what they like: "fighting" and in exhibition fights they don't get hurt as much as everything is agreed, well at least and what I see that everything seems to be agreed, has anyone here already bet on an exhibition fight? I never bet on any exhibition fights

He cant never have those pro fight considered that he had already retired.
Manny Pacquiao Retires, Saying ‘My Time as a Boxer Is Over’

Just like those retired boxers or legends then they are really just making themselves get involved with exhibition fights which is similar to this.
Fight counts arent official or cant be counted which is a usual thing.

That statement and decision from Manny Pacquiao are way back in September 2021 when around that time, he is currently aggressively active in his Presidential campaign for the 2022 Presidential Election in the Philippines and almost all his time was dedicated to it. Not enough focus on boxing led to one of the reasons why he got defeated by Yordenis Ugas in the same year.

After losing the election, Pacquiao shows interest in boxing exhibition matches starting this year. There is a series of interviews where Manny still shows interest to return to the ring and come out from retirement now that he is now more free time and is away from busy politics.

Just a few months or weeks ago if I'm not mistaken, Pacquiao said in an interview that he is interested in facing the winner of the supposed fight between Terence Crawford and Errol Spence which we all know didn't materialize. Not saying Pacquiao will come out of retirement but I'm sure he's not really decided to retire at 100% at this point.

The desire inside him in fighting with the real fighters are still intact, though as for now he consider taking his own journey with exhibition match, maybe he's checking if fans still have that interest for him, but now that he's starting to do his routine drills and he maybe feels that he can still fight and maybe he can still upset pro fighters.

We don't know if he will come back for real or he is just using it or those who are behind him to promote his upcoming exhibition fight.

Whatever the decision fans are everywhere, Pacquiao will always have a special part inside his fans heart.

The desire will always be there for a special fighter like Manny, during his prime he was a force and we are all amaze by this boxer and for sure majority of us starting to follow boxing because of the great Manny Pacquiao. But sooner or later, every great fighters has to return at least though when he retired he was healthy with no damage to him.

But we can't really tell at this point that he will comeback to fight again inside the pro ranks.

He will have to consider many factors that only he can answer.

In my opinion, he better enjoy his retirement and leave pro boxing for good.
It is fine doing some exhibition matches from time to time in order to support his causes.
At least with exhibition fights, the rules are different and his health won't suffer much.
Maybe the interest of fighting these new younger champions is still there, but he should consider the capability of his body at this age.
Or maybe he is testing his power with this exhibition fight and decide what's in it for him afterwards.

Same goes with my opinion, better to reconsider his health before taking that route, we know that he's no longer young and the body condition is not the same when he still on his prime, and adding to that, the young fighters that he might meet inside the pro-boxing rings might have that huge power punch that can accidentally risk his life.

He can go and do exhibitions to keep his adrenaline not the same rules though, but more safe than dealing with a real pro-fight.

Not really, so we believe that Pacman will just be okay with losing? Which is more important, Pacman's legacy or DK Yoo's business? I guess both have important name to protect, so they will try to win to stay popular, so I'm hoping there's no script to follow.  Smiley
If Pacquaio is losing against a big name boxer like Mayweather, he wouldn't mind about it. But DK Yoo is really unknown since he's from MMA and he haven't coached a good MMA fighter that can qualify for UFC fight, so he's literally just a local MMA coach. I think the script is make Pacquiao will win this fight since he said he will back in professional career after he won this exhibition fight. Also there's no bookies added this fight which mean there's no hype.

He will be slaughtered there. He is not quick anymore; he is already too old for Professional boxing. He should just stick to exhibition games where his health is utmost importance. I don't know what's valid to you, but there were indeed several rumors and articles about Manny's possibility in returning to professional boxing, and this rumors came directly from Manny's camp. I cant say, it make sense if they use this exhibition match to assess Manny's boxing skills at this age. So, most probably Manny will take this fight seriously like he's fighting a professional match, so the team could fully assess on whether or not Manny continue his professional boxing career.

That is bad assessment since he is not fighting a real boxer in the exhibition. Even if he takes it seriously, the competition is a joke. It is better to assess him against sparring partners that are also professional boxers even when they are in lower tier against him. In esports, it is like assessing a player against an AI and not on ranked games.

I think after DK Yoo he also set another exhibition match against one of his sparring partners.  This might be one of the rumors about Manny Pacquiao returning to ring in 2023 and yet it is still an exhibition fight against  Jaber Zayani his sparring partner when he fought Keith Thurman. The event will take place in Saudi Arabia in February 2023.[1]

This is a better assessment but I wish it was not an exhibition fight. Just duke it out in the ring without camera and see whether if he is still fit to fight pro or not. But most probably, with Manny's age, he is not fit to fight anymore.

This is just my opinion, but I think he might be just testing himself in this exhibition matches if he still has what it takes to go up in the professional boxing again. Maybe the fire is still there for him, however, his body might be telling otherwise, so he needs to test it in his first 2 exhibition match.

If he feels good, then I have no doubts that he will come back again as a professional and fight bigger names in the 147 lbs.

So let's wait and see, if he still the same Manny or he is old enough not to go and fight against the top champion of super welterweight, Crawford or Spence.
