Campaign Management?"Hhampuz" is the Man
Looks like majority of votes goes to Mikey,so many disappointment if Jones wins this fight  Grin Grin

We have only 3 weeks to go before this bout happens.

My cousin and I has a betting agreement that If Tyson did not bring Jones to knockout up to round 5 i will win the Money  Grin

So this means i will have to cheer for jones to stay at least 5 round without being knocked .

Winding down.
Interesting to listen what Rocky aka Sylvester Stallone thinks about upcoming fight Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr ?
He is giving a big advantage to Tyson and saying he is a a wrecking ball. Roy Jones is moving good but he better watch out for Tyson punch

Speed kills

It would be ironic and in a way even iconic if Roy outboxed Tyson just like Tyson had outboxed his opposition in his early professional years, i.e. before 1990s. We could see something like the Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao fight, where a strong puncher (Pacquiao) could do nothing against a defensive counter-puncher (Mayweather). Floyd was just too fast and agile for Manny to employ his devastating striking potential. For comparison, see the Pacquiao vs Hatton fight
Not to hate Mayweather but i wont really be comparing that Roy's performance would really be just the same with Floyd. You're right when it comes to speed advantage but i dont like the way or everyone does
on how Mayweather do fight.. We do need some belt to belt boxing where no running and fleeing is involved.

Well, boxing main priority is to make points as much as you can even if it means you are just hitting and scoring and then running away.Rinse and repeat = Sure win.
Not to discriminate but i dont just like that kind of boxer even if he's undefeated at the moment.

Tyson is clearly the favorite on here but Roy can still have the alas or chance on turning tables upside down.

Mayweather can only win if you compare him based on his undefeated record, but in terms of real entertainment, I doubt if people would give him at least 5/10 satisfaction rate, we know that he is just so smart in the ring, knows how to win but does not really engage so much with his opponent and take risk of getting him, Roy Jones is pretty much different.

Most probably they still have that mentality and wanted a full 3 minutes per round. It could have many advantages specially if either one of the two are trying to win the rounds. However, we are in the pandemic and safety protocols are the first thing in mind. So no need to complain from the organizers, there's a lot of things that can happen in 2 minutes, they can either relax for the first minute and then goes for war in the last minute.
I don't think the current situation have affected the minutes per round, I think the fact that both fighters are not young anymore, they are reducing the number of minutes per round. This fight has an undercard and I don't think they also fight 2 minutes per round.

Funny though that these two legends or shall we say oldies are complaining about reducing the fight per round to 2 minutes;

Quote
Tyson, Jones Unhappy With Two Minute Rounds - "That's For Women"

"I'm sure they have their reasons for doing it," Tyson said during an introductory news conference officially announcing the fight. "But you know, women fight for two minutes. But I guess the commission has a bigger influence than I do. I'm just happy that we're doing it."

Jones Jr. was a bit more condemning ahead of their PPV fight from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

"I'm not happy at all," Jones Jr. said. "That's for women. Why are we doing two-minute rounds? We're two of the best to ever do it. Two minutes doesn't do anything for me or him."

Lol, yes when they are active and at their prime they can spar more than 3 minutes. But this time the organisers decided to cut it short for health concern. This is just an exhibition match and they don't need their ego. to be hurt as well.

Since the life style of Tyson is public and even now he is using weed heavily and who knows what all he was using, i wont be surprised if he gases out in the first two minutes of the fight Cheesy.
Tyson used to party hard but when he is preparing for a fight he will not use any of these things as it will jeopardize his training. He is returning after a long time and in this age if he is not serious about boxing he will not bother about returning and get embarrassed in front of billions of people watching. So i am expecting a good fight but the chances are it might go the full rounds.

Remember that this fight will be eight rounds, and each round will be shorter and lasting for two minutes.
The success of this event determines whether some of the retired fighters will make their plans on making a comeback and earn some money, veterans league and two minutes is perfect. Since the life style of Tyson is public and even now he is using weed heavily and who knows what all he was using, i wont be surprised if he gases out in the first two minutes of the fight Cheesy.

After watching latest press conference I am sure both of them are preparing best they can at this age.
Tyson even said that he is firing anyone who is not giving maximum in training against him.
All of the training partners Mike Tyson will be sparring will be in awe of the legacy and fan boys and it is possible they will not go hard.

It is their profession and that is why they do it which is next to the glory that they will get after the fight.

In exhibition there is still an action on it. But we all knew that this match is not intense as the normal match we watch.

We know they are a great boxer but they have retired, meaning they are not the same, hopefully we should not get too hype in this fight, instead, expect that it's just a simple fight that one is not trying to seriously hurt his opponent, better not expect too much.

just a friendly advice.

For people who havent known about these boxers then most likely they wouldnt really care at all but for people who did miss out these legendary fighters in the past on seeing
them on how they do fight then they might eagerly on seeing on todays match.Yeah it might not be the same but we would able to witness their greatness.

The might be fighting past into their prime but for the sake of entertainment then we can really expect that it would really be worth into the money that you had spent on PPV.

This fight isnt achieving something but for both boxers we dont know if they had put up their pride on this one even if theyre retires, you cant say that they wont really
be get serious on that fight day on proving out on whose the best? and do still have the power in spite of their age?

Both guys seem to be taking this fight seriously and training hard. Tyson used to be an obese guy not that long ago but now he is looking in great shape. I am hoping that neither fighter gets seriously injured but I look forward to seeing what they have to offer at this age. We just saw Anderson Silva knocked out a few days ago in the UFC after attempting to come back at 45. At the very least we should get a more entertaining fight than watching two youtubers box.

Yeah, this is more of a friendly match that has millions of dollars at stake for both of them.

Hopefully that we will still get entertained and this match happens as scheduled and won't be moved.

This doesn't look like a real fight to me at all, I know many people are excited and there is also a lot of people who think like me as well, all I care about is being able to wager on this or not.

You said it right, this is an exhibition fight, that means it's not real, they just fight to give us an entertainment and for them to raise funds, if you don't like to see a fight like this, this is not for you, and you don't need to spend money for this.
I'm starting to look at this perspective.

A match that's been set for these two are not like the other matches that we used to watch which is thrilling and exciting because we all know that they're going to give their full.

This might be the cause of other exhibition matches that earned a lot of money so, they've decided to do this because fans are excited on this.

Even in real fights they still do it for money, everything is for money but there's a difference between a real fight and an exhibition fight, real fight gives intense action where viewers really enjoy while exhibition fight is more on hype only on pre fight to sell a ticket or PPV whatsoever.

At 1st I thought this was just a big joke because these men are 100 years old combined ages of them.

The person in charge of this match better make sure he has medical staff on site ready to attend to these old men if something dangerous will happen.

It is less then 1 month to go and I will be making a small play on Roy Jones Junior.

LOL.. that made my day!

anyway, this is not the real fight per se but just an exhibition fight. one lucrative way to earn $$s. they are already way way past their prime.
the promoters are just after for the money that they can get from these 2 popular fighters. dont expect toe-to-toe rumble here. they may stop at the middle of the fight if they see one is in bad shape. that's the difference of exhibition vs real fight. they are more concerned with the fighter's condition rather than if he can still push thru the match

I disagree HEAVILY about young fighters have no chance against them. In fact Mike Tyson wasn't even good enough to continue the time he retired FIFTEEN YEARS AGO so he retired, young and athletic is something you can't regain, you can be the best boxer in the entire world with your technique and skills and talent but when your body fails to do what you want to do and when your punches are not as strong and as fast as it used to be and even others punches hurt you even more than it used to, that is just your body.

Your mind could still be awesome but it won't help you at all, it is going to be hard for you to fight. Hence why I think regular people have no chance against them but when we are talking about young fighters in the top 10 ranks, they could destroy Tyson and Roy Jones together at the same time.
