How likely does everyone think this event is to actually take place and not get cancelled due to Coronavirus. I don't like how most sportsbooks aren't making it clear how bizarre the rules are for this fight. Lot of potential ambiguity for books to take advantage of their bettors.

This article tells what everything is wrong for this fight and why the marketing and the hype on this by the organizers might be a mistake.

If the main event between Tyson and Jones doesn't tell you this fight card's target audience doesn't include hardcore boxing fans, the co-feature between YouTube star Jake Paul and retired NBAer Nate Robinson makes it clear. Tyson has won 50 of his 56 career bouts, but the important number here is his 17.9 million combined Instagram and Twitter followers.

And the event can't transcend medical science, which confirms that the middle-aged brain is especially vulnerable to the trauma boxing inflicts.

Doctors understand that reality through study, and Jones knows from experience. Through the early 2000s Jones was an untouchable light-heavyweight champ with lightning reflexes and even faster hands, the author of highlight-reel knockouts. He cracked Virgil Hill's ribs with a single right hand in their 1998 bout. Four years later he hid his hands behind his back, then cracked Glen Kelly across the temple with a roundhouse right, ending that fight.

But as Jones slowed with age he became the victim of a string of terrifying knockouts, most recently in 2015 against England's Enzo Macarinelli.

Five years later, we can't guarantee he's better equipped to withstand a Mike Tyson uppercut, but Tyson is vulnerable, too. He looked unbeatable in the gym but we haven't seen him absorb punches since 2005, when he quit on his stool against Kevin McBride.

Both fighter, Tyson and Jones have vulnerable, and with a wound from the past, both Tyson and Jones might not stay for a long time to fight. When someone gets old, his speed, power, and ability that he has at a young age will slowly turn slower, and I am sure that happens too with Tyson and Jones. Maybe both fighter doesn't need to fight with hard, and I think they can still serve the entertain to the audience.

Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr.: Fight card, rules, PPV price, date and things to know for the exhibition match

and PPV cost here.

Quote
The cost of the event has been reported to be $49.99 on traditional pay-per-view platforms and Triller.

If they get at least 1 million subscribers globally, that would give them a good paycheck already.

But I'm just wondering, is it possible that this fight would get at least a million buy on its PPV?  Anyone, give me a reason why or why not?

I’ve seen Mike videos in training, he looks a real beast & is obviously training & living/eating clean. Jones only retired recently though so I dunno, if he can get through 2 rounds Jones will win but Tyson could easily knock him out early.
The clips Mike Tyson and his team is releasing for months are short clips and the sparring looks like he was in his youth and i do not think i could move like this in his age and that is impressive, but i am not sure how his cardio looks as he is not doing anything for 15 years and that can affect your cardio unlike Roy Jones who retired recently. Since it is an exhibition i do not think Tyson will look to finish the fight soon but if Jones becomes aggressive then we might see a finish.

AFAIK, the Tyson vs Holyfield fight was the one that's purpose is for charity, in this fight, it was not mentioned so I don't like to assume the same.
This is an exhibition fight which is purely for business of both fighters and their respective promoters. '
They are doing this with the same intention, Holyfield was a name that popped up during the initial phase because of their rivalry during their prime boxing career and when Tyson said he wanted to come out of retirement Holyfield also announced the same but Tyson and Holyfield are good friends and he do not want to fight him in any capacity and so is the reason they choose Roy Jones Junior and the majority of the revenue from this fights goes to charity.

Even if Mike Tyson is a beast, he still one of the biggest fighters that the boxing has, and I think many people still like him, especially now he really changes to be better than before.

The main reason why many people including those who are not big fans of the sports of boxing itself would want to watch this match is that it involves legends. Not to mention that this is a fight for charity. The names Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. are ones which will be forever etched in the history of boxing. And so it must be one historical of a fight if they meet inside the ring, for charity or not.

I'd like to correct you though that Tyson does not change to be better than before. He cannot do that even if he wants to.

I can say that this two legends makes their names in this sports people who knows them before even  not the fans of boxing will look at  this

fight as  a good entertainment, seeing two boxing legends fighting with pride, even it's a charity match still the name itself will be enough to

gain attentions.

When it comes to legends, many people will want to watch his action in the ring, and that can help both to get more popularity although they are retired from boxing. Whether it's for charity or exhibition, that match will remind people that they still have the power to fight in the ring.

I don't know if he changes to be better or not, but I am sure that he can be a better person than before. But thank you anyway for correcting me.

If people can enjoy boxing game, I am sure they will not feel bored. But I can not enjoy the games because, after a few rounds, I always got slept in front of the television hahaha. Even if Mike Tyson is a beast, he still one of the biggest fighters that the boxing has, and I think many people still like him, especially now he really changes to be better than before.

I am sure that those who are not so fond of boxing will still watch this match only because Mike Tyson is playing in the match. Every one including old and young have know Mike Tyson as a hero in boxing and everyone will love to watch this match.
Yes, that is because the name of Mike Tyson gives them memories about his fighting in the past, and I guess many people who watched his match in the past still remembered him, making people want to watch boxing.

Actually, I am not like boxing too, but sometimes I joined with my brother to watch the match. If the fighter has the experience and it's a veteran as Tyson, Jones, Holyfield, and else, I will watch the math but not watch until its end. If that match looks like a charity, that will be good because they can raise funds from the audience or other people who want to donate their money. Maybe that is what they can do to help people in this pandemic, so the money from the match can be distributed to people who needed it. That is if the match has the purpose of raising funds to help people.
Boxing is fun and the only that I get bored in watching if the both players are not popular. In this fight, even though it will only last in 8 rounds; I will finish it and for sure I will neber get bored because I want to see the movements of Mike tyson and for sure this will gonna be a good fight. Mike Tyson comeback will be written in the history because he is a beast, I saw his current training regime where he proved that he is the greatest heavyweight champion in the world. Even Roy Jones was recently retired, Mike Tyson can still beat him for sure.

Is this for real?

No judge, no decision - the bout will be ended only via Knockout or Technical Knockout or if a ref sees that one of the boxer unable to continue the fight.
seriously this is the mechanics?for this GrandFathers?i thought  they will only play as exhibition game?
i'm afraid what will happen to them given their age and health.

Is that rule too much for an overage and retired boxers providing this is just an exhibition match? Fortunately, both are fit and in their good shape.
yeah this is inhumane mate, why did not consider their ages ?and  their capacity to fight will be this time questionable for me.

I am sure both are at fit conditions and in good shape, but we should admit that both Tyson and Jones is not young anymore, and there is a chance both of them are tired in the middle of the match. I think the audience will enjoy the match and they will get entertain from the match because both Tyson and Jones make a comeback. If this succeeds, more fighter in other sports will try to follow too.
I am not much into boxing but looking by the way news are unfolding it looks like a charity match where both the boxers are going to be easy at each other with no intent of winning or hurting their opponent. I am wondering why they are doing a boxing match when they don't have any interest of having any real action and I don't want to see two old men boxing each other for some money while the audience is the real loser here as they might feel they have been robbed by this pay-per-view event with almost zero action.

I am huge cricket fan and follower and I feel like this is one of those charity matches where they drag old aged cricketers to play and actually there is no fun at all.

tbh, watching these legends is sometimes interesting and not boring. because it will only last for 8 rounds, they will not be too wasted after this match. we will see if they still have those powerful movements inside the ring.
btw, why is it that the new trend in boxing is those legends (who are already old for this sport) that are already retired are now coming back again to box? getting the interest of those boxing fans?
This fight can become one of the best comeback in the boxing history. Both of them are legends who knockout a lot of big names in heavyweight division but Mike Tyson have the upper hand in this fight. He is the favorite fighter that makes Roy as underdog. The round will only go for rounds and for me it is okay but what is not okay for me is the fight will be stop immediately whenever they encounter cut in their faces. I understand that their lives is on the line but still it will be boring if the fight will be stop immediately.

even how practice he has but knowing that He knows to be low in stamina?
i think the fight will still favor Roy Jones?
Since this is an exhibition bout both these fighters will not look to take the head off unless Roy Jones Junior wants to take it competitive and if he does Mike Tyson might knock him out cold. I do not think Tyson will be having any stamina issues as he had the ability to cut short if he was not ready as this is a fun fight to raise money.

anyway we are 12 days away and i can't wait to watch this game as we have bets against each other here in our compound .

Despite that the match was charitable works, the fighters are doing this for the love of boxing and Tyson have once calm that he's nothing without boxing. Besides, he wont like to spoil his reputation and hes never for once a boxer that dont take every match serious.
True and thats what im trying to say that its impossible for them to just showcase of a fight which isnt really showing some seriousness in it. Fans  would definitely feel out the difference.
Some said that this would definitely for money but we know on where  those funds would end up or we know the cause already which is great. Watching a legendary fight plus you do able to
help the ones who are in need since those money would be pour in charities is really a good stuff to know.September 12 is fast approaching and i cant wait to see these two in boxing ring.
