Anyway,  even considering the training program taked by Mike Tyson, It's very obvious that he's no longer the bulldozer he was in the past anymore !   Embarrassed

With Mike's characteristics, I'm almost sure he will take this fight seriously. He'd bit that ear out of Jones if he can to win a fight for the last time in his life.  Grin

He'd bulldoze just anyone who'd get on his way up there. The only that will make it difficult for him is if he is still fit to fight. I haven't really seen their full posture but don't they all have big dad bod already?

There was some sayings stating that Tyson has been under treatment for manic-depression and that he was stopping the treatment before the fights.
So that's what was giving him all this energy when he's fighting

This match could been exciting if they were younger and still at their prime. My expectations from the match if Mike Tyson struggles in the fight then he will use underhanded techniques such as biting. I'd rather see Manny vs Golovkin it will become hype in an instant.

Is this for real?

No judge, no decision - the bout will be ended only via Knockout or Technical Knockout or if a ref sees that one of the boxer unable to continue the fight.

Is that rule too much for an overage and retired boxers providing this is just an exhibition match? Fortunately, both are fit and in their good shape.
Is this some kind of joke, an exhibition bout can end only via knockout or technical knockout, i do not see this as an exhibition if that is the case and it looks like they are trying to settle a score even if there will be no judges scoring the bout the referee can take decision on the fly and if the situation gets heated then referee might call off the fight. I have seen Tyson fight in exhibition bout earlier with Corey Sanders and he knocked him clean but after that he was going easy with him but these two fighters are really competitive and who knows what will happen if the competitive side kicks in.

yes of course but I think not only that but both of them have an old age and in my opinion are too risky when fighting in the ring because I am sure it will make one of them will not be able to continue the match into the ring again for life.

Wow, Though I'm not sure about that rules and for sure the ref will be very close calling any thing as both fighters are
willing to showcase their talents,.Just hoping that after this event both fighters are safe and enjoy the fight, no further
damage that will cause problem with their health condition, this is exhibition fight so there's nothing but to entertained the fans.
Health will come first in this kind of exhibition match, no need to bring hurt to each other specially Mike Tyson who has the reputation before. Jones has some knock out power, that is before he lost his speed and coordination. If the referee sees that this is getting out of hand, then he might step up and call this fight off. So let's just say we will enjoy this fight while it last.

Eloncoin.org - Mars, here we come!
Days are gone for MIke Tyson while Roy JOnes is freshly retired so the stamina (I'm now degrading Mike but recently? His activities are far from Boxing.
Hope he practiced more now.

We know How Knockdown fighter Mike was but we also Know that His capacity to stay long in the ring is low.

Look like what He did for Holyfield? He did Bite the Ear so the referee will respond and stop the game.

This will be one of the most hyped match which everyone would want to witness. I think no boxing lover would like to miss this match.

I will also bet on Mike Tyson. Even though he is aged but no one can match his experience.
But still, Tyson is getting old, and he is older than Jones. But we will see if Tyson still has a power like before, but I guess that will be a tough fight between them because they are now is not young anymore. But both Tyson and Jones have experience in boxing, and they will use the strategy to win.
I am a little concerned that this fight might turn out to be very foolish because spectators are expecting a fight like full of action and high skills but the truth unfortunately is that both the men are old and far from their peak and there were concerns if even they should fight or not and under such conditions I think this fight might turn out to be out of sorts where both the fighters just avoid too much punching and while I love both the fighters I would not expect too much action anyways.

I hope there is not too much criticism after the fight because it might be very well below expectations in terms of power and skills.

Mike Tyson and Roy Jones junior should go and rest. The fight won't last up to the 6th round, they'll get exhausted. Mike Tyson will win anyway.
Not because they are both OLD meaning they have no right to go up the ring, remember that they can adjust the game to slow fight so their stamina will stay longer in fight.

Although their time has passed, it's a good thing to see the two old legends of boxing come back to ring again, just to test their strength and to entertain their fans.

Thats exactly what is the objective in this fight,The promoter wanted to at least for the last time fans from around the world will see their Idols fighting in the ring .

These are the terms for now. I am not sure of these terms will be the ones that will be kept until the fight takes place. It is still very possible at this stage that some of these rules may be changed, like a headgear may still be required in the end.

This is one match that does not carry a title nor a belt or a record. This is neither a stepping stone match for a bigger one in the future. With all these considerations I don't think both fighters will really die for it. This is just a friendly match so there is no hatred or a very strong urge to punish the other terribly or put him to sleep.

I am sure both are at fit conditions and in good shape, but we should admit that both Tyson and Jones is not young anymore, and there is a chance both of them are tired in the middle of the match. I think the audience will enjoy the match and they will get entertain from the match because both Tyson and Jones make a comeback. If this succeeds, more fighter in other sports will try to follow too.

This match is only for entertainment and money, don't expect that the audience will see their greatness power in this match, beside the age is very influential as you mentioned and also long enough they did not compete, even their move cannot be fast again.

If he gave 100%, then we might see a knockout win with that?
I am not expecting, both of them can hype the fight, that's the way to sell the PPV but the actual fight would surely be not as what we are expecting.

Not the way we would expect it to be knowing how much they aged now. Its just about making them last up to 12 rounds only to show the public how they are now. Making the PPV worth the pay for this historical event.

Its not like how they are back in the days where they can throw a combo without dislocating thier hips. Throwing a hard punch might even break their knuckle bones for its now almost brittled. What they could do in the ring is just a 1 and 2 punch and back away again.

Sports news article title will be Mike Tyson wins via Roy Jones' dislocated hip while throwing uppercut hehehehe.

Also, will they wear a headset? The organizers should avoid one or both old men to go to the emergency room and come out with Parkinson's.

Can they still give out those kind of powerful punches? Discolating bones or parkinsons etc. is unlikely and also i dont really believe that they would put up a headgear on this match.

This might an exhibition match but not a sparring match either. Honestly, seeing those headgears would just simply take out the fun that most been hoping for.

I agree though on what you had asked since these dudes where old but im sure that they arent really that brittle.

The fun of watching 2 old exboxers fighting in the ring because the promoter thought he can make some money from bored people during a pandemic hehehe.

This fight will be similar to the mistake called Tito Ortiz versus Chuck Liddel 3 hehe.

No. They can't throw powerful punches anymore. I wanna see Mike putting all his weight on to throw upper cut to see what that would happen to him and to Jones. Exciting fight really and I hope there is nothing will go wrong.

It wouldn't look good for PPV payers to see them wearing headgears though but the insurance company would likely want to them to. They would probably write a new insurance contract for this event.

When you do see those videos of sparring and training routine of Mike which i havent seen one in Roy then you can really still see the power when you do hear out those crisp punching sounds in Focus mitts and heavy bags.
It wont really be that entertaining to see headgears and i do agree that they might already get that new insurance.LOL! They are aware that something might happen specially if they do let loose and
box as hard as they can.

As far as the rules are concerned, both boxers will not wear any protective gear. I expect that too even for an exhibition as they are "Legends" after all.

The fight does have bizarre rules compare to a usual boxing match. As also mentioned above, there will be no judges here, and the only way to determine the winner is via KO or TKO.

Looks like these boxers really want to prove something as they accept these bizarre rules without any subjection.
