What a big win by Donaire, that fight showed Gaballo that he is still not at Donaire's level. He KO Gaballo with that sweet body shot, maybe he work on it because I saw that before, he may be still thinking that Inoue used a body shot to him that hurt him so badly, the reason why he slowed down in the later rounds.
I love how Donaire had an impressive fight, since Casimero is out, nothing can stop the Donaire vs Inoue rematch.

And if I may add, the fight is close in my opinion, Gaballo holding himself against Donaire. But I guess Nonito is on the different level, he is not connecting with his patented left hook but his overhand is getting. And prior to the knock out, Gaballo was hit on that side and back up. And maybe Donaire sense it that's why he throws that wicked body shots. Congrats to Donaire. Now we should wait for the Inoue vs Donaire mid next year.

^^ Right, both are really confident that they can win this fight.

Actually it was my first time to see this Reymart Gaballo, but the kid seems to cool and not that arrogant. And it seems that he has respect for Donaire as well.

But Donaire seems to be very tough and yes, very confident that he can still continue his reign as WBC bantam and with Casimero out of the picture, Donaire's chances to get at Inoue is sure after he wins this fight.

Donaire is a tough man , he makes fight so tough. I have watch most of his fight and he is a good fighter.  Based on is fighting patterns and experience, I doubt if he will lose in this fight.

Nonito Donaire didn't show any signs of slowing down and got a KnockOut win against Reymart Gaballo in just a 4th round to retain his WBC title. Only Carabao are aging lol. A body shot by Donaire sent Gaballo kneeling in pain. The latter now suffers his first loss on his clean record.

After that win, lots of tweets hoping for a Donaire having a rematch against Naoya Inoue.

That win indeed will put Donaire in a Inoue talk again.
He once again prove that he still have enough left in his tank. A very destructive left hand body shot that partially lifted Gaballo's feet off the ground at age 39 is really impressive.

Filipino fans only has one thing to say for Gaballo maybe including Donaire when he talked to him after the knockout, they only wish Gaballo to come stronger.

With Casimero likely to move up in weight, chances are high that we gonna see this rematch though I would like yet to see Donaire fight first WBO champion (who might it be) but i think time is not on the Filipino Flash's side.

Good win by Donaire, at least he have shown to his critics that he is not slowing down, at least for now.

Donaire is very confident that he can beat Gaballo. While Reymart said that he didn't care who he is facing, he just go there and do his hard training.
For Donaire, there's a high chance for him to beat Graballo because of his experience on fighting much stronger opponent.

Gaballo on the other side might be the underdog here but he said he trained really hard and certainly he will do his best to show what he got.

This is an exciting fight for both Filipino. I dont know if this happened before but its my first time seeing a pinoy boxer with an interpreter, well Its not a big deal though.

This is indeed interesting because Casimero is already out early because of his health condition.
So if Donaire wins this match, he may go after Inoue.
I think I'll still go for Donaire here though Gaballo has the youth in him.
This may go the distance but don't know if KO is on the table.

Yes, this is what Donaire says, he will go for a bigger fish after this fight.

So obviously he is talking about Inoue and he is targeting him next year after this Gaballo fight and as said, he is very much confident that he will win against the young and upcoming fellow Pinoys.

Lots of incoming fights, we have the Loma vs Commey and then this one, hopefully we can watch both fights.

I am rooting for Donaire but I do expect to see a good performance of Gaballo in this fight.

Same here, Gaballo is the one with good stamina as he is a young fighter, but since Donaire has the power in both hands, I guess that makes the fight interesting. Donaire's experience in big fights will be seen here for sure, just like his fight with Oubaali, it was a clear dominance by him as he hurt Oubaali early and he did not give him a chance to recover.
Obviously, Donaire is the top choice here since he already proved his worth he has a good record especially on his previous match but Gaballo can really win on this as well because he is good too. Well, we can see it this weekend and hopefully you already place your bet, because personally I can’t also choose between this two talented boxer.

Nonetheless, we will know what will happen soon about this match because for me, I can't know for sure who have the upper hand and more favorable to win and both of them have some advantages.
But Donaire has the most advantage as he is more experienced and he has been a champion many times already, and currently the champion as well. If Gaballo will train hard, harder than he ever did before, then I would say that he has a chance to beat Donaire, however, Donaire is just too good with this timing so I think Gaballo will have his first defeat, and probably through KO.
for defeat maybe it is possible but not for knockout I think, because until now the Filipino boxers have always been praised for their stamina and endurance and they have it.
I feel that what you say is true because it is certain that Donaire will be favored in this match but maybe this will be an exciting match without a knockout because they have strength, speed and pretty good hitting endurance.
When it comes to endurance then old Donaire have been already deteriorated and im not sure about Gaballo on this part if he do really had that endurance.

To be frank im not really that like on seeing both Filipino boxers do fight to each other and would really be much prefer on seeing those other nationalities.

This would be a tough wall for Gaballo but once he had able to break out and able to defeat donaire on this one then that's a good step or boost up
into his career.

If we only look at his age he may look deteriorated already, however, if we look at his last fight's performance, you cannot say that. In fact, Donaire was so confident and tell people that the king is back, what does that mean? It means he is gonna dominate and will try to be an undisputed champion in bantamweight division, and his major goal is to defeat Inoue.
They are so obsessed to fight Inoue and that’s why they have to win on every match that they have along the way until they reach that goal. Yes, Donaire might be old already but he still have the power and strengths so this could be a good match up. The fight will push through, let’s hope for this and let’s see if Gaballo can also be good in the ring, they are both Filipinos and its really have to place some bet between this two.

Donaire will be tested again, fighting again with a much younger and hunger fighter might be a big challenged for him.

Gaballo's stamina will be his advantage, though solid puncher like Donaire can beat his opponent if they will be careless. The strategy of

reading his opponent's movement inside the ring is one of those qualities that Donaire have, if he sees that he can go blow by blow, he will

Attack and will try to lock his opponent down.  Cool

Hopefully this will push through, Ancajas fight is postponed, and then Casimero has medical issues of his own and can't fight as well.

So now all Filipinos are now left with this one big fight and the ironic part is that it will be all Filipino left. Nevertheless whoever who will win here, nothing to be ashamed, still we can be proud and fly our flags. I'm still undecided so I won't bet on this one. My heart tells me I wanted Donaire to win, but my mind says that we need new young breed to carry the torch for us.

I think this Donaire vs. Gaballo fight will be pushed through and no more further cancellation or postponement of an event because the fight is all set in to happen. With the recent announcement of Casimero out of title defense against Butler, now the most awaited boxing fight event that involves Filipino fighters is this Donaire vs. Gaballo fight. It's understandable to be torn which one you will be going to bet on since they are both our fellowmen which either of them who wins was still going to make our countrymen proud. I am rooting for Donaire but I do expect to see a good performance of Gaballo in this fight.
