I do not know the technical details available today, Bitcoin Silver will follow the Cock Bitchin style distribution method and available to BTC private key holders in December. The exact block of the fork will occur at an undetermined time.

There will be several new hard forks like this coming from Bitcoin in future. The main reason behind that is the demise of ICO's as it got banned in China. Now the major drive force will be in the form of forks!

Maybe they should make Forking a little stricter, like getting 30+% community support before forking, losing all or part of their Bitcoin when they move over to other fork or simply put a limit on the number of allowed fork in a given period. Stuff like this can't be possible in the real world : you can't reject something and still have stake in it.
Thank Goodness I am not taking part in the free coin madness, God forbid.  I do not like them and they do not have too many values.

No one can regulate an open-source project. Anyone can create a fork out of the existing code at anytime. The main differentiating factor that lies between the 2 codes is their credibility. That is where majority of support moves to the legacy version while the minority supports the new code.

I think all these forks is a scam. I honestly do not understand why they do it. These forks just does not make sense.

Every one wants to earn money and the owner holds the highest no of coins . So they introduces all this different type of forks and altcoins etc so that if people buy and demand increases their value of the coin will also rise. And thus they will sell and exit their position and finally those coins value will go down and become worthless but owner and their friends will have made money out of it.

Every developer just wants to have fork with bitcoin I guess. And so after this bitcoin gold, cash, b2x and now silver? I don't know what's the matter on these people but they are just trying to strengthen bitcoin(core) I guess. And there should be law for this but probably there's none because bitcoin is decentralized and it's source code is open so everyone can have it's fork.

Once the semi-precious bitcoin forks are over it will be plain sailing and we can get back to what is most important.

And when do you think that would happen, there are so many upcoming Hard Fork with the bitcoin name on it if you would think in the positive side of the hard fork it would be an upgrade for the bitcoin Blockchain A fork is a change in the software of the digital currency that creates two separate versions of the blockchain, In my opinion Fork is good for the system of bitcoin however it can also be fatal because of the risk involve in doing this and your bitcoin may be lost forever.

Fed up with such announcements. Whenever I logged in, there is a fresh announcement of new coin's ICOs and forking of the bitcoins. These activities are decreasing the credibility of the cryptocurrencies and many of these icos are proven scams. This needs to be stop as it is damaging the bitcoin community.

I completely agree with you but if you watch from the start of BTC it happened the same when community started to create altcoins, who remember the first ones coming out?
We all thought it was a very bad stuff for crypto and BTC credibility in general but now alts have a separated market.. although keep splitting is a stupid move for me, what's the point? In this way more and more people will laugh at BTC and it will end (is not gonna happen) but for sure this nth fork is a bad move for crypto and BTC credibility

I ask myself if these developers are really earning money with these HardForks, because for holders it's free money coming just by holding Bitcoins, I think this is the only case of Free Money that really exists.  Cheesy

I'm trying to understand about this bitcoin silver yet. I don't have any idea about this yet. I'm still relying on the different comments here. If this is for a good cause then that's amazing. Maybe it will answer the supply needed for bitcoin since demand is getting higher.

So many forks, and BitcoinFork is registered in several TLDs. I've just registered BitcoinKnife.com to see if I can earn from them. At worst, I can list some of the ways you can cut out the new forks and pick up the "free" coins. Smiley

Bitcoinbowl, and Bitcoinspoon are both registered. I wonder if BitcoinChopsticks is registered for the chinese market.

I'm wondering if coin forks act in a similar way to Quantitative easing in the real world

Government fiat decentralised currencies are coming. The Frypto (fiat crypto) will take over. All of these forks are undermining bitcoin

Another hard fork from Bitcoin? Well, for me it's pretty obvious that this forks are the reasons into pumping Bitcoin to the top but I wonder why there's too many Altcoins and forks exists today. Have to read and study what's and why's.

This is hilarious. People will stop at nothing to ride the bitcoin coattails to success. I don't really blame them, because who wouldn't want to get rich? Still pathetic though lol.

it is expected that there will be a lot of forks for the upcoming years for the bitcoin. It really hurts when you always have your surgery or operation yearly. there will be also bitcoin ruby, gems and the greatest of all behold the bitcoin rainbow will come to your wallet the new bitcoin with a lots of colors. I bet we will still talking about this when there is a lot of hard fork that will take place next years.

These forks are diluting the Bitcoin Brand and causing a lot of confusion. One of these days, new investors will not know what the original Bitcoin was. The other thing is, with every fork Bitcoin lose a little bit of credibility with investors, because early investors are getting free coins and they have to buy it.

If one of these coins/chains fail or turn out to be a scam, people will blame everything connected to Bitcoin. When MtGox was hacked, people blamed Bitcoin and the price dropped like crazy. ^grrrrrr^
