hell this is becoming  more of like a pokemon game, Bitcoin Gold, bitcoin silver, platinum, bronze, red, blue, etc..
But the thing is even if there will be a lot of forks bitcoin will still be best. at first bitcoin may be affected but in the long run these coins are going back to zero. B2X may be good but still it cannot compete with bitcoin. It may follow the path of Bitcoin cash, maybe better but the others, well i dont know. It may not get that much support from the community and besides bitcoin are more accepted worldwide than any other of these cryptocurrency, there are more businesses that accepts bitcoin than these.

Bitcoin silver , gold, platinum? What else will they make out of the fork.
Bitcoin copper, bronze?  Grin
This is getting funnier than ever. The bad thing is they are carrying the bitcoin name which could be the start of bitcoin to fall. Thank you forks now we will be seeing a grand fall when people got weary of all this shit.

Is there any official information for the bitcoin silver dude. Since bitcoin gold forking is taken part today we all are making more with the bitcoin gold rewards. If you are confirming with the proper link I will be hold the bitcoins for the more time.
Henceforth, I will be able to make money by holding it in my wallet itself without no effort.
They anounced on bitcointalk yesterday, here's the link

Damn it. I thought all the while that this topic was satirical. I mean, seriously. Why would you name your fork Bitcoin Silver when Bitcoin Gold already exists? Wouldn't that automatically undermine Bitcoin Silver's value by virtue of naming alone? If you talk about it with a newbie to the crypto world, I'm sure the first question they'd ask is if whether there's a Bitcoin Gold, and why they shouldn't invest in that instead. A little creativity would have been nice.

But yeah, this is nothing but a way to make a quick buck. Everyone should be careful in claiming their airdrops, as this is likely even worse than Bitcoin Gold.

If those people starting or announcing the fork will just use their resources to develop bitcoin more that would be great. I will keep on holding on my coins and some altcoins that are NOT forked from bitcoin and I hope things will progress well.

I do not know what's happening, why still make such Altcoins more and more users in the name of bitcoins and when it's added to the people's support at Bitcoins, That may fall in price when it happens. And I'm looking at this will be bad for the future of bitcoins that we must take action today.

I somewhere met on the forum the information that there were already 667 forks of bitcoin. Apparently, there will still be quite a lot of them and nothing can be done about it. The Crypto currency is decentralized, there is no single control center and therefore each team in its own way solves these issues. Forks are carried out for various purposes, including for the purpose of scaling the information contained. Therefore they are in any case necessary.

I ask myself if these developers are really earning money with these HardForks, because for holders it's free money coming just by holding Bitcoins, I think this is the only case of Free Money that really exists.  Cheesy
this free coin leads people to a madness., they are all very crazy in making bitcoin purchases to get free coin from hardfork that will happen,, because they have definitely benefited from the amount of bitcoin they buy, .. and really just the digital world who provide free money without having to work Grin

Sometimes, I just hope Satoshi could magically pop out before the November Fork or any other fork, just to give some direction so to stop the infight. Just looking at Ethereum, sometimes have a bit central authority will be a good thing for a decentralised system, at least it will be stable.

I have to agree. Somehow have the feeling that this leads to chaos. So many actually useless coins that appear on Bitcoin basis and confusion among users, this is the proof that sometimes a steady hand is needed. That is why regulation and centralization don’t necessary mean the bad situation for Bitcoin. At the moment we have the mess and it with each next fork it will be even biger. Hope market will somehow stop this and the comon sense will prevale.

Maybe they should make Forking a little stricter, like getting 30+% community support before forking, losing all or part of their Bitcoin when they move over to other fork or simply put a limit on the number of allowed fork in a given period. Stuff like this can't be possible in the real world : you can't reject something and still have stake in it.
Thank Goodness I am not taking part in the free coin madness, God forbid.  I do not like them and they do not have too many values.
Ha ha ha! Why didn't you like the freebies, buddy? Personally, I am liking it because it's almost similar to minting coins. BTC is not a PoS coin, however, because of these forks, it feels like I am minting bitcoins in a form of an altcoin. If bitcoin silver will be out soon, then that's another freebies for us... by the way, I can never think about something else to volatilize bitcoin aside from bringing forks and bans  Grin

Just enjoy the ups and downs, man! ha ha ha.

Who is "they?" I guess that's the nature of open source software and decentralized networks: nobody can stop anyone else from forking the code and launching a new coin.

I think that the markets will eventually correct these activities. That is to say... the more Bitcoin forks/airdrops that emerge, the less investment each of them will see, since they are all competing. Eventually, instead of prices in the 0.05 BTC range (BCH) or the 0.02 BTC range (BTG), we'll see prices like 0.001 and 0.0001 per coin. People will eventually get tired of this crap.

In the meantime, though, hold onto your BTC. The newbies will get fleeced chasing after all these fake "Bitcoins."

Really hilarious, Btc gold, Btc platinum or even Btc diamond. They should keep them all coming. This happens when there is no restrictions so I don't blame them.
There should be no restriction, and in the future, that wouldn't be necessary. This is just the second hard fork of the original bitcoin. The first was well prepared and had serious influence on the original bitcoin. This second was just a huge hype and had little effect. People will get used to the forks in the future and will not act unnecessary when a fork comes. When the third, seventh, etc. fork will come, people will not over react them in the future...

There's Bitcoin Platinum coming soon too:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.23524756

Hell, we got even Bitcoin Shit coming through too!!

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--2316573

And like I said, this is a good sign. Once there is a massive proliferation of forks, the relevancy of Bitcoin forks will be 0. Let these people create the announcement threads and make a mockery of forks, it is a public service for Bitcoin. The more the general public learns forks are a scam unless they have unanimous support, the better.

Damn it, Billy Bob, you got to it first!

They have to realise they just sound more like MLM companies with Silver, Gold, Platinum etc. memberships. Then again, maybe they know this deep inside and are just plugging this craze for what its worth, milking "free" and instant profits. It's an absolute mockery of crypto and Bitcoin, and gives more fodder to critics with "no intrinsic value" as their main weapon.

These forks are only making Bitcoin stronger, but I fear a little for public perception of this landgrab.
