The Newsweek Credibility Matrix
Dorian Nakamoto has vehemently denied being Bitcoin's creator. Did Newsweek act irresponsibly in pursuit of a scoop? Could they have known, prior to the denials, that Dorian wasn't Satoshi?
This article makes some great points.

That was an interesting link a bunch of detective work going on there

It sure raises some interesting issues. I personally think they just made up everything, actively knowing what they were doing. Anything in pursuit of a scoop, indeed.

what made me a bit nauseous was all the back-patting and champagne cork popping by the journalist and her sycophantic colleagues. pleugh.
Oh yeah. Seriously, this has been one of the most distasteful journalist works I've seen in my entire life.

I hope that you all already discovere that these news were all bullshit.

Shun the nonbelievers: this is our man. Time will tell. When Dorian dies he'll explain it all in his will.

Dude, don't forget the sarcasm tag otherwise people might think you're for real.

So the more we as a community bother and hound him the more money he will make in the lawsuit?
If I was him, I'd sue too.

I wonder if he will actually go forward with a lawsuit.   If he does, it will definitely be uncovered if he is actually the Satoshi Nakamoto that Newsweek claims.   It would be pretty idiotic of him to go forward with a lawsuit, if it is in fact him...

It would be pretty dumb regardless.  He has very little to sue over.  Unless he is a completely private individual whose seclusion has been invaded, he has nothing.

You are not "defamed" by basically being outed as a genius who created a world-changing technology.  How does this make you look bad?

If he is a private individual, he probably has a cause of action for something like invasion of privacy or negligent infliction of emotional distress, which let's face it, are really pussy causes of action.  Who the fuck sues over shit like that other than some special snowflake?

Also, whether or not he's "the" Satoshi (and I am really thinking that story is bullshit at this point) he has taught me a valuable life lesson.  If you are ever being interviewed by some asshole, DEMAND A FREE LUNCH.  I am definitely doing this if it ever happens to me.

Look, he never worked for bitcom, and he never communicated with bitcoins. He wants his free lunch, so let him go with this guy. End of story.

yea, and he also was "doing something else" when bitcoin was created in 2001?! and he was unemployed "doing nothing" in 2010
