https://prohashing.com/explorer/Bitbar/ is is good choice.

my efforts at making an explorer is slow going. Deciding on which database to use, what information to keep in the database and what to query live...
Work has best busy - last four weeks they have been sending me out of town, so most of my computer time is just on the weekends.
Still progressing though.

As has been announced, I will be shutting down CCE for now. I will not be renewing any sponsorship's and explorers are being shut down as they expire.

There are a few reasons for the decision to shutdown related to the changing market of cryptocurrencies.
I am also attending college again and working on a electronics specialization. I will be attending full time the next couple of semesters which will severely limit my time for other projects.
CCE might come back at a later date and I continue to hold the domains, rights etc to the CCE brand.

Because BTB has been on CCE for so long, I have been reluctant to shutdown the BTB explorer due to a lack of full fledged replacement explorer for BTB.

Searching around a bit I found:

https://prohashing.com/explorer/Bitbar/

The CCE Bitbar explorer will be shutdown by the weekend and I wish all of you the best of luck in the coming years.

DreamWatcher offered to help me with setting up his open source version of CCE ( our soon to be turned off block explorer)
After trying (with my total lack of python knowledge) to just set up the dependencies, I declined his help and decided to write my own with stuff I'm familiar with.
Feel free to check up on my progress at http://btb.altcoinwarz.com
can't guarantee it will be up and running   Wink

let me know if you still have trouble syncing your wallet.

so i put dnsseed=btb.altcoinwarz.com into my conf file.

not sure it made any difference since i was already managing to get some peers.

still no block movement with a few peers.
then it occured to me the bootstrap blocks i downloaded from cryptochainer may be weirding things out.
i deleted the blocks and index, restarted.
and now things are moving.

cryptochainer worked well for me bootstrapping several other altcoins. *shrug*

Windows-qt wallet link is updated on the Bitbar home page at ,or you can use this

so the latest download i can get is v0.4.4.006

but the only peers i've managed to have connect show using getpeerinfo
a "subver":"/Bitbar:0.7.4/"

and none of those peers is feeding me any blocks. Sad face
was there a hardfork? is a newer than 4.4 version downloadable?

4.4.006 is the newest wallet version. (no hardfork)
0.7.4 is the client version - very confusing. I'll change that in the next update (if I remember)

Now then ...
Our long time blockchain explorer provider (CCE) has decided to stop providing that service.  They were also running our checkpoint server, and providing our dnsseed connection.
The source code (and windows-qt wallet) has been updated to reflect these changes.
I am now running the dnsseed and checkpoint server at btb.Altcoinwarz.com
Hopefully I can get an explorer working there as well.

let me know if you still have trouble syncing your wallet.

so I changed the dnsseed to btb.altcoinwarz.com and updated the repo at https://github.com/Crypto-Currency/bitbar

Windows-qt wallet link is updated on the Bitbar home page at ,or you can use this link.

Not really an important update, you can skip it if you wish. While using the older wallet,if it can't connect to any peers, close your bitbar wallet and add:
Code:
addnode=btb.altcoinwarz.com
to your bitbar.conf file, delete your peers.dat file, and restart your wallet.

I just checked peer connections, and altcoinwarz.com has 16 connections.

I will start the new checkpoint server once I know CCE has stopped theirs.

As for the block explorer ... that will take some time as it is written in python and I don't have any experience (yet) with python.
I'm setting up another server box to experiment with it.

If anyone can walk me through setting up the open source CCE version to use withr bitbar and litebar, it would really be appreciated, and speed up the process   Smiley

He is also running the checkpoint server.

I take it that it is not a money issue, but more like he is not providing the service anymore ?
I can run it on my server - I wonder if he would be willing to share his code for the explorer ... Smiley

Correct, he is ending all block explorer services unrelated to money.

I am fairly certain his explorer code was made open sourced upto and including his forth and latest version.

It would be nice to have everything transfer over to you're server to avoid checkpoint/server issues...
I will have to track down the server code if I can.
Consider the checkpoint server 'handled'

I will update the wallet code for the dns-seed to point to bitbar.co by the first of the year.
Should anyone have problems with connections, please add to your bitbar.conf:
addnode=65.102.140.115

or:
addnode=bitbar.co

I just checked and the wallet running there has 17 connections

Merry Christmas and/or Happy Holidays to all of you!

Hello,

I wanted to inform the community that I have received word from the owner of CryptoCoinExplorer that service for the blockchain explorers will end after Jan. 1 2017

Spiderbox, aren't they coded as the connection node? This may need to be addressed.

I'de like to thank DreamWatcher for his support of Bitbar through the explorer since 2013.

Cheers
It is indeed coded as the connection node.
Code:
static const char *strDNSSeed[][2] = {
    {"btb.altcointech.net", "btb.altcointech.net"},
};
He is also running the checkpoint server.

I take it that it is not a money issue, but more like he is not providing the service anymore ?

Bitbar difficulty is up to 68 now, with  a total network hash of (around) 4.35 GH/s

Funny what happens when the market jumps almost 300%

Yes sir! Just getting started IMHO...
