Being the pioneer of cryptocurrencies, bitcoin has a huge market capitalisation and much more established networks than other altcoins. Also majority of altcoins are exchanged back into bitcoin as this is the only convenient cryptocurrency that can be used to directly purchase goods or services. So the other altcoins automatically complement bitcoin. Hence when bitcoin's price see a hike or low, other coins may also face some difficulties. A higher Bitcoin price means a loser altcoin price.

I noticed that most times when btc is rallying almost all of the altcoins dip. and when there is a crash in btc all altcoins suffer as well. my interpretation is that for the first alts can't sustain the price against the $ if btc is high. and for the second, everyone is panic selling btc.
what do yo guys think ??
Yes we have the same observation because since the bitcoin continually increasing altcoins suffered and continually decrease. So i think bitcoin affected altcoins.

bitcoin is the ist crpto currency and the remaining are less in age than bitcoin. bitcoin has his own power and value in the whole world while in altcoin there are number of coins present in which some are very good according to their performance while some are going to dead and few are already dead. bitcoin price has a great affect on altcoin.
It will always have that first movers advantage over all other altcoins and it would really take some pretty big work for any of the altcoin to really gain that confidence that bitcoin has been able to give. The community is strong on bitcoin and they are ready to do anything to make it grow knowing there is so much at stake. Also, remember that the devil you know is better than the angel you don't know, so usually most people tend towards bitcoin in times of trouble knowing the fate of the altcoins.

yes I always think that the higher the bitcoin price, the lower the altcoin price. Well, altcoin prices do not balance the bitcoin price, because bitcoin always affects the price of other coins. the higher the bitcoin price, the lower the altcoin price, but not all altcoin like that.

Bitcoin effect on alternative currency is enourmous. If bitcoin coin sneezee every other altcoin always catch cold. The is the reason i do not use my bitcoin to buy altcoin. i will rather work to obtain altcoin than buying with my btc
Haha! Nice way to express and elaborate the effects of bitcoin on other currency, by the way I am also suffering from seasonal cold but that is not because of bitcoin, Lol. Coming back to the effect of bitcoin on other currencies, almost every crypto holder is aware of this fact that crypto market circulates around bitcoin and all other coins are dependent on bitcoin’s actions for their fates.

the btc effect on altcoin is when bitcoin price is increase then the altcoin price is down although its not for all altcoin because there is still many of altcoin that is trying to survive in the market. but sometime no matter bitcoin price is increase or decrease, some of altcoin is following the bitcoin price position. like what we see now, when btc reach more than $5000, altcoin price is down until he base price in few months ago and it is hard for altcoin to gets increase again like before.

Effect of bitcoin price increase can be disasterous on altcoin. If you have large percentage of your money in altcoin, you must sell in order to avoid drastic loss of value.

Sure, BitCoin is king in cryptocurrency
BitCoin is the leading currency in cryto curency, with the most well known bitcoin and investment, the market capitalization of BitCoin is the largest.
So Bitcoin has a big impact on Altcoin
Basically the bitcoin and other altcoin are interconnected in price value by people's mind. When the bitcoin price increase the people will think other crypto will also increase. As you said bitcoin is king of crypto world so any change in bitcoin surely affect altcoin. But some altcoins are giving more profits than bitcoin interms of percentage,so in future bitcoin will have a competitors.

Bitcoin is one of few base tokens that is used to trade for alt coins.  Therefore, while there is no direct correlation, if the price of Bitcoin goes too much in one way or another, then it can have an effect, who knows what way that is going to go, it depends on the price change and the amount.

In 90% of the times, the altcoins are being traded against BTC. The figure may be slightly lower for established alts such as ETH and BCH, but for the vast majority of the other currencies, the trade w.r.t. BTC contributes to the vast majority of the volumes. Therefore, in most of the cases their exchange rates are also dependent on that of BTC.

Bitcoins affect the altcoin and bitcoin effects back to Bitcoins, which are all electronic currencies and they are interconnected.
The capitalization of the copper is different, Bitcoin is the king

According to my observations; dash and zec are acting independently, if they do not have a huge price difference in Bitcoin they are acting independently. Thats impressive.

In the world of crypto currency, there is no way that we can deny this fact that bitcoin is the top leading coin. Altcoins and all other coins are far behind than bitcoin. The market of altcoin and all other coins which are present in the world of crypto currency is greatly affected because of the bitcoin. There are so many investors who are withdrawing their money from altcoin and are investing in bitcoin.

yea you are saying right.actually bitcoin is the base of any other altcoin price.all altcoin depended on bitcoin.i think these are the reason for altcoin up and down when bitcoin price crash or up.
1. when btc down altcoin also down > because if the base is not good then we cant think good about other things that are depended on the base in everywhere, you can see it both in real life and crypto world.
2. when btc up alt dump > because when btc start to up people are also starting to sell altcoin and buy btc.

the Only Altcoin will up when btc remain stable for few days I think.

Every focus and attention still centers to Bitcoin being the legacy, and the first in line. It was from this idea that other altcoins came alive. So, it is normal that we will keep seeing this effect for a very long time and nothing will change it. The confidence like you have said is totally there, the support is incomparable and then most altcoins at this time are basically just good for trading purposes only.

In fact, bitcoins have a huge impact on the altcoins, and that is the direct effect, every time the bitcoin fluctuates, the market becomes dark, it seems that all the altcoins go down, and there is no way to overcome....

Maybe, but I think not all are affected. I'm not sure but in my opinion, only altcoins can convert directly through btc to be affected. The other altcoins are only slightly affected. But btc is still the strongest currency in the crypto system, and its impact on the general market is inevitable, just like the dollar in the world's currency.
as if there was no hope of rising, altcoin gave a sense of pride. Support for traders is very difficult, this is not just hitting trading strategies. but like a storm that destroys a merchant's mental.
all my altcoins are stuck and I need an answer to get the benefits back.

Segwit2X will be an interesting one.
I think we will see a flight of capital moving into BTC like BTCGPU, because people want to gain access to the new chain coin; and alts will rise after the split.
However this is a dangerous split in that confusion arises between BTC and 2X; there might be selective coins that will do well pre-split
