I think that in the course of 2018, Bitcoin will still be ahead. But this does not mean that after a couple of years, the etherium will not be able to overtake it
Bitcoin will remain the top ranking coin in 2018. As the first crypto currency it still has the highest selling price. Ethereum can become BTC's best competitor.
for now, both are the same, because now the price of each coin is fairly cheap, and maybe now is the right time to buy some coins, to invest and we sell them after the market recovers or stay on hold for several months
I think that Bitcoin will be still on top, there are still reverberations of big medialization, if you ask people on the street, they don't know the name „cryptocurrency“, but they know „Bitcoin“. And that's why Bitcoin will be over Ethereum. In 2019 and 2020 there will be a change, but not now.
Even if the market has a very huge downfall and longer time to recover but it is still the bitcoin than ethereum is the peoples choice other than any other altcoins , this means that even for tbis odds in the market place ,bitcoin is still the number one cryptocurrency in 2018.
If you wish to earn more and wouldn't mind taking the risk, then invest in Ethereum: it has a great chance to double or triple in price once the market stabilizes. If you like playing it safe then invest in BTC, hodl, and earn profit.
The crypto market started with Bitcoin, so if it goes out of existence or if some coin replaces it, the trust in all cryptos will be shaken. The BTC price prediction for 2018 is $50000, and I believe ETH will show some good results too in 2018.
Now it seems, that they behave approximaelly identically, and it is normal for two leading and most powerful coins.

Bitcoin or Ethereum, Which of these coins will rule in 2018?
In my opinion, you better to consider both Bitcoin and Ethereum as both were alredy known by many people and the demands by people is higher than other coins. We can buy both and hold it for a long period of time because as of right now they are stable and gradually increasing and with some dips. But in the long run they both still performing like last year 2017. So we better to buy now because the price is still low and hold until it rises again.
Its obvious ETH has more potential now, but I think it is unpredictable which of these two will rule this year, since there are still a couple of months left. These coins also differs on characteristics and capabilities, so I think both of them will still grow in the future more than any other coins.
Ethereum and all the 1st gen Dapps will be THE showcase for what blockchain is, can do and how it can change the world. Blockchain 3.0 projects might challenge this status eventually but not yet. The delays in projects like Augur, Golem and IPFS have shown that it´s quite complex to build a solid and secure Dapp. It´s safe to extrapolate that Blockchain 3.0 networks and their respective Dapps will face the same hurdles and not be ready to have a significant impact before 2019.
Finally BTC and ETH are bad now, hope we will see better prices in future. BTC was seen dead so many times and finally had new ATH again...
ETH because bitcoin falls and it does not have a stable price, but it's better to invest money in Socratus
How about Neo? Its worth is lesser compared to both ETH and BTC besides NEO has the possibility to be the new ETH and better platform.
i think that bitcoin will win this year because bitcoin is the pioneer in the cryptocurrency market . maybe after 5 years or more Ethereum will pass Bitcoin .
In my opinion, the parity between these two coins is going to remain the same this year, since both of them are like Titans who support the crypto world now.
I thought Ethereum would pass bitcoin for this year, but still the king did not leave the throne. This year is very stable and it seems to pass until the end of the year.

You cannot compared to two different coins. Each of that coins have their own abilities and capabilities. They will both rule the crypto in its own way. Both of this coins have a high potential of growth. We cannot determined if one time bitcoin or eth will boom at crypto world. They are both good crypto so I think both of this will possibly rule all coins. 
I believe that ethereum will grow over two times this year 2018, and I am sure that we can benefit more in ethereum and it will bring good profit for the investors here.
I think that bitcoin will remain the leader in 2018 on the cryptocurrency market.
