Both coins have potential to increase in value, but I would prefer Ethereum. Although it may remain in the BTC shadow this year, I am hodling to see ETH grow by the mid-2019 and reach its full value potential.
Definitely Bitcoins rules in 2018 same as previous years and it will be same next year as well. Bitcoin is main cryptocurrency at the market and it is it's mission to rule the cryptocurrency market.
Maybe in 2019 Ethereum will become the leader. Now, I do not see any leadership of ETH. I guess some time should pass, and then, we will understand which of these cryptocurrencies will rule the market.

These are both very good coin for you to have in 2018 or if you are looking to buy coins then they are the best choice for you. They are the biggest coins in the market, They also have the highest number of loyal investors so you can be sure that the coins will always end up doing well no matter how bad the market gets because the investors would never let the coins die
Every topic in a forum, the rivalry of these two cryptos are always being mentioned, amd thats why i always answer and reply the same answer and same opinion that i have, for me the bitcoin is the most consistent cryptocurrency that ever existed and nothing will change to that, but if only bitcoin will be bankrupt, but it is very impossible because the owner of bitcoin is very smart and wise. And the altcoin ethereum is not like that but bery useful. So i always conclude in every year bitcoin is very useful and effective.
It's simple, Bitcoin always rules! Just check out the charts. All altcoins are repeating same or almost same chart as Bitcoin, because Bitcoin is King of crypto.

Bitcoin and ethereum will be fantastic in terms of pricing. We have seen through out this year majorly bearish market. Market right now is more decentralized as many people are in as a result of low prices. When price begin to rise, there will be no stopping.
But I will still choose BItcoin along the way I know the whale will surprise cryptotraders. Bitcoin will keep going until it reaches the highest level but better be careful on Etherium, it will probably soar.

I have a feeling Ethereum will be higher in price towards the end of 2018 since it's really stable compared to bitcoin.

actually if seen from the higher selling price of Bitcoin than Ethereum. but if viewed from its overall use, Ethereum is more useful. because every transaction will use Ethereum, and most of the new projects must use the platform
BTC and ETH are the best coins I think have separate roles. If BTC is more suitable for long term investment if ETH is suitable for short and long term investment. so in my opinion it depends how you will use it.
I think that 2018 will be the year of Ethereum. It becomes more popular every day, almost all new projects are released on its platform.
As per the present market condition, we can expect two possibilities Bitcoin to cross 10 thousand dollars and etherum to cross 1000 dollars so these are most possible price expectations

For that time that you're asking about the good thing was to go with Ethereum, but for now, that we are when I'm writing that the best decision ever is to buy Bitcoin.
holding coin bitcoin and ethereum need extra patience because it has a lot of holder and support.

I'm not entriely sure whether eth or btc is a better investment at this point. You can't go wrong with either and they are the only 2 cryptos I would really trust for the long term. Even Eos which had a lot of hype is very overpriced and centralized so it doesn't look to good for them.
