Thank you very much  for pointing me to the tutorial!
i downloaded the wallet with Chrome. The problem is that the client does not load fully. The BTCD wallet icon shortly appears in the dock and then closes automatically. For that reason, there have not been created any system files.

Here is the crash report.

My guess is that the wallet is not compiled to work on os x 10.7. Many other coins' wallets have the same issue for 10.7

where are all the btcd? almost no sell orders on exchanges. James is controlling way too many BTCD. Very unhealthy for a "currency". Maybe the tech is pioneering but as long as one person is controlling 20-40% i will not buy into it.

I don't know who is the first owner of BitcoinDark, but I don't think James has more than 10%.

Even if James is owner of 40% of BitcoinDark, certainly earned it from the solvent way. remember, this is  the right of every person that invest arbitrary amount  in anything and you can not specify limit for the property amount of investors. Wink

To any Macintosh BTCD wallet newbies, here is a specific guide to get you going:

1. For some reason, the wallet will not open when downloaded with Safari. We have tried this on several machines and several versions, and every Safari download gives you a dead duck of a file, so YOU MUST USE EITHER CHROME OR FIREFOX TO DOWNLOAD THE WALLET (perhaps other browsers work, but we are certain Chrome and Firefox do).

2. Once launching the downloaded DMG file, drag the BTCD app into your "Applications" folder.

3. Open the app and let it fully open. You are only opening it this time to create the system directories necessary to run the wallet. After it opens and the wallet appears, you should then quit the app. The system files have now been created to run the app. Now, we will manually create a .conf file for the app.

...

you're joking right? I know many ppl who are large holders and we all say the same thing "one must be crazy to sell BTCD this cheap".
And many were buying in the 300k range (and still buying) when everyone was panicking and whining about the devs taking too long to finish the tech and not keeping their promises.
Look how attitude has treated you now, same will happen with supernet, whine and complain all you want but those who are in slack know what work is being done and know that buying is the best thing to do now.
When all the tech starts to roll out it will be too late to accumulate whatever amount you want.

I have a feeling this is going to be one hell of a ride.
this is only the beginning.

One would hope the fecund mind of the dev in question would refrain from further flying near the sun (crypto777 or whatever the latest asset is called) until old promises to investors are kept.

Argh! Guys I need your help. I run latest Bitcoin wallet on my Mac with OSX 10.7 without any problems. After a reinstall of the operating system -- still MAC OSX 10.7 -- the wallet opens but closes shortly after start automatically. All my other wallet software (e.g. Bitcoin) run properly. Do i need install some other software or frameworks (e.g. Mono etc) in order to run BTCD wallet?  Roll Eyes

You don't need any additional software or frameworks. From the sounds of it, you are probably suffering from the issue mentioned in step #1 of the below linked guide designed to help you.

Please keep in mind you will need to save your original "wallet.dat" file to use in your new installation, as you must do with all coins, so that you don't lose any of your coins!

Please check out this Macintosh-specific guide, which I believe will solve your problem...

May I ask, what is the latest estimation of teleport rolling out??

It's double top secret  Wink

wow that was kinda dismissive for a feature that's 8 months overdue.

It was a joke, relax.

The truth is nobody knows.  However that being said, InstantDEX just today became ready to test on Linux, and very soon on Windows.  Because the tech is basically finished, once word gets out about InstantDEX, all of the tech in jl777's stable instantly becomes legitimized, including Teleport.

James has said that after InstantDEX he is shifting focus back to BTCD and Teleport.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that JL777 estimated 6 months for getting SuperNET launched; if correct and assuming a start date of 23 September (when the ICO closed), that 6 month period ended in March which currently makes the launch a mere 3 months 'overdue', which for a project of this scale is hardly surprising. Other crypto 2.0 projects (Ethereum for instance) are experiencing much greater delays.

That said, it would be nice to have an update as regards an expected launch date Smiley

I hear one of the devs from a supernet project are involved with crypto circuits. Anyone here have any inside information they may be willing to share?
